Chapter 5
A/N: Sorry I've gone two weeks without an update. This chapter has been really hard to write. I hope it turned out okay.
Silver takes a deep breath before opening a black tinted door, having no way to assume what to expect once inside. The first thing he notices is how dark it is indoors, yet bright at the same time, what with the disco strobe lights flashing constantly. Loud music blares, nearly blasting Silver away as he steps through the doors. Loud beats mix with the yelled out words of people trying to hear each other over it. It's definitely not Silver's kind of environment. He shakes it off, walking the rest of the way indoors. Shivers run down his spine as the doors shut behind him, as if trapping him.
Silver nearly immediately spots Gold at the bar, waving his hands around excitedly as he converses with a large group of other girls. Silver can't help but wrinkle his nose in disgust. Whatever, though. The party will be fun. Gold notices Silver once the latter gets closer. "Oh, Silver, you're here!"
Silver huffs, but it's in no way audible over all of the commotion. "Who are all these other people?" he asks, crossing his arms.
Gold takes a moment to process what Silver says, due to his quiet and indistinguishable voice. "Oh!" He laughs. "It's a public bar, Silv. There are other people. Oh, but I did invite some of the other people I met through online dating. They sure do like to party!"
Silver rolls his eyes, recognizing by now that he can only convey his words in the form of motions because of the other noises. He doesn't like it here. There's just something about it. Silver tries to push it off by telling himself he's negative about everything anyway, and that this is just the same. He can't help but to complain. Everything smells like alcohol. Disgusting. Yet, to Silver, somewhat...inviting. He jumps when Gold drags him out of his daze with a tap on his shoulder.
"You just going to stand there, or are you going to take a seat and have a drink?" Gold asks with a smile, holding up a satisfying looking glass of beer.
Silver swallows thickly. His throat does feel a bit dry. "No, I really can't."
"C'mon," Gold insists.
Silver shakes his head. "I really shouldn't." Silver's an alcoholic. He really, really shouldn't...as Green constantly reminds him. Silver clicks his tongue agitatedly. Like heck he'd let a drink control him. "Fine, whatever." Silver snatches the drink from Gold's hand, much to the other's pleasured surprise.
"Good!" Gold flashes him a smile before turning towards one of his many other guests. Silver stares down at the yellow liquid. His head hurts so much. It could very well be the blasting music, but perhaps he's just dehydrated. Silver hasn't had a good drink in a while. He licks his lips before diving into the drink. It feels warm, yet cool and refreshing as it trails down his throat. Before he even knows what's happening, the whole glass is empty. Silver hurriedly orders a second, faster than he can give himself a moment to think. At some point, he hears Gold say something along the lines of, "Wow, you sure are drinking that fast. Thirsty, huh?" And then he laughs. Silver's face heats up in embarrassment, or maybe it's the alcohol heating up his cheeks. But man, that laugh does nothing to help Silver's worsening head ache. It's like a hammer is beating against his skull in time to his heart beat.
The bartender hands Silver his refilled glass. "...Looking...so good." The bartender's words fade in and out in Silver's ears, only half registered in the current slurred state of his mind. Whatever. He doesn't know this guy. His words don't matter to Silver. He simply snatches his cup back and quickly swallows it all down. Silver has lost track of just how many glasses he's had. He wouldn't know, because the bartender just keeps filling the same cup over and over.
"Silver...You doing okay...?" someone asks. Sounds like Gold. Silver giggles, a twisted smile contorting his features. It sounds like he's underwater. Everything is so echo-y. His mind feels all bubbly. Maybe he just feels happy? That's all, right? So happy...Silver blinks, and just like that, his world remains black.
When Silver wakes up next, it's from a monster of a coughing fit. Ow, ow, ow. It hurts so bad. The coughing, it scratches the back of his throat and the noise drives his head crazy. The headache is so bad. It hurts so bad. He feels...He feels hungover. "Shit," Silver mutters under his breath. Silver stammers onto his feet, only then realizing he had been placed on an unfamiliar bed. He makes a run for an exit, wherever he may be. He needs to get out of here, back to his hotel.
"Silver! You're awake! I-I was pretty worried about you." Silver turns to see Gold, walking towards him with droopy looking eyes and his clothes in a disoriented state. Silver swallows nervously, running towards what looks like a front door, nearly slipping on his way. As soon as he steps out onto the bustling street, he waves his hands for a taxi. He hears Gold running towards him. That, and every car horn and city noise nearby, making his head pound in utter anger. Where is he? Home, home, Silver needs to get home.
