Book #5
Margaret Peterson Haddix's Children of Exile
For the past twelve years, the Freds have raised Rosi, her younger brother Bobo, and the other children of their town, saying it is too dangerous for them to stay with their parents. But now all the children are being sent back home. Since Rosie is the oldest, everyone is looking to her with questions she doesn't have answers to. She'd always trusted the Freds completely, but now she's not so sure.
And their home is nothing like she expected, like nothing the Fred's had prepared them for.
In the first book in the new series by New York Times bestselling author Margaret Peterson Haddix, Rosi must decide what she's willing to risk to save her family- and maybe all of humanity.
I know I keep recommending Margaret Peterson Haddix's books, BUT THEY'RE JUST SO GOOD!!!
I could not put down this book for the life of me. I had to know what was going to happen to Rosi. I was driven to figuring out the mystery surrounding Rosi's birth home.
But most importantly.....I had to know more about Edwy, Rosi's ex-friend. That boy kept me wondering, "What is going on inside this kid's head?" Edwy was a mystery to me.
As usual, there is no swearing in this book, BUT there are some pretty tense scenes. If you could close your eyes and actually picture how one of the scenes would look like in real life....you would terrified if you were in the middle of it!
