Witchblade (Japanese: ウィッチブレイド, Hepburn: Witchibureido) is an anime series loosely based on the American comic book of the same name. Not an adaptation of the original story, the series has a new setting and characters. However, the anime version is considered controversial by some fans because GONZO has announced that the main character of the anime is of Japanese ethnicity but is not Itagaki, Shiori, and Yuka, one of the previous bearers of the Witchblade. Instead, it is a new character named Masane. Although this series sets up an entirely new story with all new characters, it is set in the same continuity as the comic book.

Plot:
The lead character (and blade wielder) is Masane Amaha, a kindhearted, well-intentioned woman who is clumsy and awkward around the house. Having lost her memory during the Great Quake which ravaged Tokyo, Masane was found uninjured at the quake's ground zero with a baby in her arms. Six years later she returns to Tokyo with the child (whom she believes is her daughter), intending to live a peaceful life. Masane becomes entangled in a power struggle between a large corporation and a government agency, and discovers that a mysterious bracelet on her right wrist is the legendary Witchblade.

My review:

Hey fellow nerds!

This chapter is about Witchblade.

From top of explanation, it is based off of american comic.

That is a fact, because there was a Tv show about witchblade that run only for two seasons before it got cancelled.

The views were great, however, after doing some digging about why it got cancelled it was because star, Yancy Butler's alcohol problem sent her to rehab. Which is typical problem for actresses and actors.

I do not know if Witchblade series is coming back or not, because it run June 12, 2001- August 26, 2002.

Before you ask,
I only watch 3 episodes of Witchblade tv series, it was pretty great but I couldn't remember where I put DVD collection set at, soooo yeah.

Anyway, enough of that. It time for anime ver.

I remember watching this anime when I was 10 with my step dad, he didn't have all discs, so, episode 9 was where I left off at and than I progressed through school, which wasn't easy for me.

Back in 4th grade, I got bullied, for way I dressed and way I acted. It was mild bullied lvl. Like calling me names, making up lies about me to cause my friends to abandon me. Sometimes, It did got physical, but, after I show my bully that I had enough of their shit and grab them by the coat hat, pulled down and kick them right into the snow, it didn't to damage but it was enough for them to leave me hell alone.

At this time, teachers I had didn't care, maybe one did, hard to remember, but older I got, more I didnt care about what they said anymore. Yeah, I'm tomboy and I love games and anime it much better hobby than drama. Hell, I even keep 2-3 friends and that was about it.

Anyway, During, middle school, My mom setup Netflix and the anime Witchblade, was on there.

So, my sisters and I camped out in living room and watch Witchblade series from beginning to end. And i'm going to admit, I cried like a bitch toward the end.

What I like about this anime is that, characters all have different personalities and all were likeable, except child service lady, the blond bitch, I forgotten her name and another bitch.

Some of monsters, were weird. Like guy that said " Warm....gotta be warm" or something like that. And the one sounding like a pervert, I was soooo glad they got killed.

Though, what I dislike about anime is the fact that they didn't fully explain Witchblade or what happen after ending of episode 24. Way it ended, they could've explain what happen to Masane, her daughter and other characters, like did they move on? Did masane die? Is Masane daughter going to get Witchblade? That what questions that never got any answers. If they have, well, I need to find that, so my questions can be answered.

This anime I highly recommended to you all. It is in sub and dub.

In my option, both are great.
