maybe put on some clothes

School hadn't let out much too long ago. Andi quickly made her way out of the building and rushed down the street towards the alleyway she knew Peter spent his time getting ready in after school. She was rather annoyed, as she wanted to head over to Ned's to start constructing the Death Star, but she received a message from Tony telling her to make sure Peter didn't leave her sight during his ventures. She wasn't sure why Tony was being unnecessarily strict on her, but she didn't care. She wasn't going to spend her night babysitting Peter, especially when there were so many other important things she could have been doing, such as building one of science-fiction's deadliest objects out of plastic blocks.

"I can never have any fun," Andi grumbled to herself as she pulled her suit out of her bag to change into. She would've preferred to stay out of the suit, but she couldn't risk being seen by Peter or the civilians. She thought about just wearing it under her clothes, but didn't want to risk a heat stroke.

After changing into her suit, Andi climbed up the brick wall and onto the roof overlooking the alleyway. She waited and waited on Peter, who had a tendency to stop at Delmar's every day after school, which only slowed the process of Andi's mission. She loved the kid to death, but looking after him could get incredibly annoying most days.

Peter soon showed up, removing his shoes and webbing his backpack to the dumpster as per usual. Andi let out a sigh and turned away as he undressed, only looking back when she found he had his suit on. He jumped onto the building across from her and began swinging from building to building, no doubt to start looking for people to save and criminals to stop. It was the same thing every day, which had come to bore Andi. She preferred spending time with Peter at school and at his apartment, but she had a job to do, one that did not consist of Tony referring to her as the "Littlest Avenger."

Andi took her phone from her bag and plugged her headphones in. She placed them on her head, and the sound of OutKast's "Ms. Jackson" flooded into her ears. She laid back and listened to the music in hopes that Peter didn't get himself into trouble while she decided to relax. It wasn't that she necessarily hated looking after Peter, but she was so used to the action of looking after New York City. Now Peter had somewhat taken over that task for her, and her job was to make sure he didn't screw it up.

About four songs had played since Andi put her headphones on, and while she wasn't looking to stop listening, a text from Ned was what eventually forced her to. He wanted her to come over and start building the Lego Death Star. The thought made her smile. She loved having the opportunity to be a normal teenager. When she wasn't working, Peter and Ned gave her just that.

Andi shoved her phone and headphones into her backpack and pulled it over her shoulders. She jumped to the building across the alleyway and again to the building adjacent to that one. Once she found she was in a safe enough area to begin swinging, that was exactly what she did. It was quite a ways back to Ned's house, and she didn't feel like trying to wave down a taxi or call for an Uber, especially not in the suit. It already drew too much attention as it was, not that she minded, but Queens already had two spider-people swinging around. She just didn't want people to think two was a crowd.

As Andi was swinging her way through the streets, she was struck by a phenomenal force. Her webbing snapped and she was sent flying to the ground. All she could see was blue and red, and she knew then what  hit her.

Andi rolled to a stop on the ground. She grunted and pulled herself up, her eyes falling on a very guilty and surprised Peter Parker.

"Woah," Peter held a hand out to Andi. "You're Recluse."

Andi reached up to take his hand and allowed him to pull her up and off of the ground. She dusted herself off and grabbed her backpack, which had fallen off during the fall. She couldn't speak to him, though, out of fear of him recognizing her voice.

"You're a legend," Peter continued. "I'm Spider-Man. It's such an honor to meet you."

"Mhm," Andi nodded her head, and before Peter could even think, she was taking off down the street. He watched as she started swinging through the buildings, and in an instant she was gone.

After a few minutes, Andi finally landed at Ned's. She took a deep breath and took off for the back of the building to change into her school clothes, and before long she was making her way up to Ned's door.

Andi knocked on Ned's door. Seconds later he opened it up, a smile pulling onto his face at the sight of her. She looked a tad bit winded, which confused him. He wondered what she'd been doing.

"Someone's breathing awfully hard," Ned teased her.

Andi sighed and placed her backpack on the couch before following Ned to his bedroom. "I practically ran here," she told him.

"From school?"

"Something like that."

Andi eyed all of the Lego pieces in the floor and squealed, wasting no time at all in dropping to the floor. Ned laughed at her enthusiasm and sat down beside her, working his way through the pieces to see which one he needed to use next.

"I take it you've never really built a Lego Death Star before?" Ned chuckled.

"I've never built anything out of Legos, period," Andi informed him. "Up until I started school with you and Peter, a normal teenage life was something I never had."

"Speaking of Peter, have you heard from him since we left school?"

Andi shook her head and focused her concentration on the star. "It's like everyone disappears when he's focused on his internship with Stark."

"Except you and Liz," Ned snorted.

"I agree with the whole Liz part, but definitely not the me part," Andi smirked.

"Okay, maybe," Ned half-agreed. "Hell, he'll probably take over homecoming with Liz."

"While we're stuck going alone."

"We don't have to go alone," Ned suggested. "We could always go with each other."

Andi pursed her lips and shrugged, not at all bothered by the thought of it. Aside from Peter, Ned had become her best friend since she'd been at Midtown, and when Peter wasn't around, he was the only friend she had. Spending time with him was always a fun time because of how hilariously stupid Ned could be at times, so spending the night with him at homecoming sounded like a great time.

"I say we do it."

"Then it's a date."

Several hours later, Andi and Ned found themselves at Peter's house. Andi was sitting on his bedroom floor beside Ned, who was sitting on his bunk holding the Death Star. The two decided to bring the star over to Peter's to give him some satisfaction of building it.

Andi was busy tinkering with a few parts of the star when she heard the window open and close again. Blue and red could be seen out of the corner of her eye and she looked up to find Peter crawling across the ceiling in his suit. Her jaw dropped a little bit, only because she hadn't been expecting him to come through the window in his suit without knowledge of who was around.

Peter very quietly shut the door with his webbing and dropped to the ground. He sighed and turned around, freezing the moment he saw Andi and Ned.

Ned dropped the Death Star to the floor and stood up, as did Andi.

"What was that?" May called.

"Uh, it's nothing," Peter quickly called back. "It's nothing."

"You're the Spider-Man," Ned breathed out. "From YouTube."

Peter pressed the symbol on his chest to relieve himself of the suit and Andi raised her brows.

"I'm not, I'm not," Peter tried to convince him, but it was much too late to even try.

"Dude, you were on the ceiling," Andi was trying to play along to the best of her abilities, and it seemed to be working, fortunately for her.

"No, I wasn't," Peter said. "What are you doing in my room?"

"May let us in, we were gonna finish the Death Star," Ned answered.

"You can't just bust into my room," Peter defended himself.

The door opened and Peter made his way over to his friends, while May hurried inside, waving a towel to divert the smoke from what she'd been cooking.

"That turkey meatloaf recipe is a disaster," May laughed. "Let's go to dinner. Thai? Ned, Andi, you want Thai?"

"Yes," Ned and Andi answered at the same time, but Peter was quick to cut them off.

"No, they've got a thing," Peter told his aunt.

"Okay," May smiled and began closing the door. "Maybe put on some clothes."

May shut the door behind her and Peter grabbed his sweater from the chair. He turned back around to face the two, who still looked as bewildered as ever.

"She doesn't know?" Andi asked.

"No," Peter answered. "Nobody knows. I mean, Mr. Stark knows because he made my suit, but that's about it."

Andi wanted so badly to tell him just how untrue that was, but she bit her tongue. She planned on keeping her secret from him for as long as she could. If Peter were to find out, it would only cause complications between the two of them, and that was the last thing Andi wanted. Peter could be super annoying at times, but Andi didn't wanna see him go. She wanted to keep him around for as long as she could.

Ned gasped. "Tony Stark made you that? Are you an Avenger?"

Peter stopped to think for a moment before nodding. "Yeah, basically."

"Oh my god," Andi laughed.

"Listen, you guys can't tell anybody about this," Peter said to them. "You gotta keep it a secret."

"Secret? Why?" Ned questioned.

"Because you know what she's like!" Peter exclaimed. "If she finds out people try and kill me every single night, she's not gonna let me do this anymore. C'mon, guys, please."

"Okay, okay, okay, okay," Ned said. "I'll level with you. I don't think I can keep this a secret, it's the greatest thing to ever happen to me."

Andi swatted at him. "Are you serious right now?"

"Ned, May cannot know," Peter spoke seriously. "I cannot do that to her right now, y'know? I mean, after everything that's happened with her, I...please..."

"Okay."

"Just swear it, okay?"

"I swear."

Peter looked at Andi. "And you?"

"My lips have been sealed since you came through the window in tights," Andi scoffed. "Trust me, your secret is safe with me."

"Thank you," Peter breathed out a sigh of relief.

"Yeah."

"I can't believe this is happening right now."

"Can I try the suit on?" Ned asked.

"No!"

Andi shook her head at the two boys and laid down on Peter's mattress. She could go to sleep if she really wanted to, but she doubted Peter would like that. She just wanted to escape, though, escape both of their idiocy. This was one of the reasons why she knew she could not tell the boys, Ned especially. He couldn't keep his mouth shut, and Peter overreacted about everything.

"I'm gonna tell you about this at school tomorrow," Peter finally said after Ned had finished his list of inquiries. He rushed the boy out of the bedroom and shut the door behind him, his eyes falling on Andi, who made herself very comfortable in his bed.

"Someone looks a bit flustered," Andi smirked and closed her eyes.

"You've gotta go."

"What?" Andi chuckled and opened up one eye. "Are you gonna drag me out of bed and throw me out the way you threw out Mr. Asks-Too-Many-Questions?"

Peter groaned and sat down by her on the mattress. "Why aren't you freaking out about this the way he is?"

"Because I don't care," Andi said to him, her tone nonchalant. "You prance around the city in a skintight suit whisking kittens from trees. That's wonderful, and I'm so happy for you, but you're not the only one."

Peter's eyes lit up at the sound of her words. "I know, I ran into one today."

"Oh, really now?"

"Yes," Peter answered. "Have you heard of Recluse?"

"Vaguely."

"Okay, well I was running around today and I ran into her," Peter explained to Andi, and she hummed in response. "She's not much of a talker, though, which threw me back a little, but it was still cool running into her."

"I bet it was, Peter."

Andi yawned and rolled away from Peter. He laughed at her and shook her shoulder, but she was adamant about giving him her attention.

"You know you can't stay here, right?" Peter said with a raised brow.

"You're not the boss of this house."

"But I'm the boss of this bed."

"Touché," Andi muttered.

Peter scoffed and grabbed her arm. "At least get on the top bunk."

Andi turned her head to look at him. "Too lazy, heavy workout today."

"You don't work out..."

"Not that you know of."

Peter only chuckled and stood up. "Whatever, Andi. I'm going to eat with May, and when I get back I'm gonna need you to be up top."

"There are better ways to word things," Andi snorted back her laughter. This was what she loved about looking after Peter. She loved her relationship with him. She loved that they were just so comfortable with each other. Being around him made Andi so happy, and it'd been so long since she'd been happy.

"You're right," Peter cringed. "I'll see you soon, though, okay?"

"Okay."

"Later, nerd."

Andi didn't respond. She only laid down and listened as he turned the light off and left the room. She grabbed his comforter and pulled it over her body, cuddling into it and closing her eyes. Before long she was drifting off to sleep, wrapped in a comfort she'd never known before.
