i'm so glad i found you

Andi ran into the tower as fast as she could while still in heels, ignoring the last of those that remained. She didn't bother waiting on the elevator. Instead, she ran into the stairwell and shot a web as far as she could, pulling herself up over and over again until she got to the top floor. She was quiet as she pulled the door open. There were multiple workers running around with boxes meant to be put on the plane for the move upstate, and there wasn't a single one of them she could afford to be seen by. They all knew who she was, of course, so being seen wouldn't be a problem any other time, but her plan could not be followed through if she were to be seen, especially if she were to be seen by Happy. He already didn't like her very much, and while he knew Andi normally stayed at the tower, he wouldn't appreciate her getting in the way of moving day.
About three minutes passed by. Andi, who was watching the workers and Happy run around the top floor from the stairwell, very carefully and quietly made her way onto the floor and over to the plane. She sprinted inside, finding a spot behind one of the many boxes to prevent from being seen by anyone.
The plane was set to take off in about five minutes, or at least that was what Happy alerted the team not too long ago. She was growing impatient, simply because she wanted to put a stop to the Vulture, go back to Peter's apartment, and go to sleep for the next year or so. She didn't think she'd ever been given a mission as exhausting as the one Tony had given her only months ago. She'd come to love the mission, or at least the reason behind the mission, but because of that she'd also grown to fear the mission. Peter was so important to her, and to lose him because of a few mistakes would break her apart inside.
Soon, the doors of the plane began to close. Andi could hear the engines roaring to life, and before long she could feel herself in the air. She sat back, removing the shield from her face and throwing it to the ground.
Andi couldn't believe where she was at the moment. She couldn't believe she was living the life she was living. She could remember growing up relatively normal, but when she turned six, when her aunt got the job of a lifetime and became involved with one of the world's most known people, all of that changed. While living with her parents she led a pretty normal life, only facing the abnormality when she received a visit from her Aunt Pepper or from Tony, who'd taken quite the strange liking to the family. After the Chitauri Invasion, however, her life was anything but normal, despite how hard Tony and Pepper worked to make it so that wasn't the case. Receiving her abilities didn't help either, as they placed a responsibility upon her she'd never asked for, though she was not at all ungrateful.
It was only now, after meeting Peter, that she was beginning to accept the abnormality that was her life. He'd given her a new reason to fight, a new reason to believe that this was the life she'd always been meant for, and that was something she would never be able to pay back to him.
Minutes later, a thumping noise could be heard on the bottom of the plane. Andi stood up and looked down, slowly making her way behind another set of boxes. She was sure of the reason behind the noises, though she wasn't sure if that reason also included Peter. She would just have to wait and find out.
A faint purple glow could be seen from her spot in the corner. A head, displaying a set of bright green eyes, popped through the floor of the plane, and Andi turned her head away. She couldn't be seen, not yet.
The man behind the Vulture persona was rummaging his way through a plethora of boxes when the alarm began to sound. Andi could feel a faint breeze, and she knew immediately Peter was the cause of it. Vulture's yell of frustration was only further confirmation.
Andi left her hiding spot and ran to one of the emergency doors, shoving it open without a thought. The harsh winds due to the great speed in which they were traveling pushed Andi back a few feet, as she was not expecting it, but she held on tightly. She kicked her heels off and very carefully made her way onto the outside of the plane, attaching herself as quickly as possible. It was difficult maneuvering around the outside of a moving aircraft, but Andi managed. She had to for her sake and Peter's sake.
Peter could be seen in Andi's peripheral, and so she hurried to him. He was dealing with the Vulture, of course, and being on the outside of a moving aircraft made that incredibly difficult. Peter webbed the side of the plane in an attempt to hang on to the Vulture, but the alloy of the plane had been damaged, and Andi noticed this. The metal broke off, sending Peter flying through the air and towards the large turbine threatening to knock Andi clean off the aircraft. She panicked and shot a web towards him, and while she was successful in grabbing him, he was moving too quickly through the air, which sent him barreling towards the turbine. A breath escaped Andi and she screamed Peter's name the moment he disappeared. A certain fear passed through her body at the thought of losing him, but she found herself relieved when she heard him scream.
"Peter," she called as loud as she could, but there was no way he could hear her.
Suddenly, the turbine flew backwards, taking Peter with it. Without thinking, Andi jumped into the empty space in which the turbine used to be, holding on with all her might to prevent from being thrown off the plane. She could see Peter now. He was hanging onto the empty area, and when he took notice of Andi, he panicked a little bit.
"Andi, what are you doing here?"
"Protecting you," she answered. "We're in this together or not at all, I am not leaving you."
It was a wonder the two could even hear each other.
"God, I'm so glad I found you."
Andi was touched by his words, but it was not the time, not the time at all. "Peter, I appreciate you and all, but we need to move, okay?"
"Oh, right, yeah."
Peter jumped from the turbine and onto the top of the plane. Andi followed close behind, but the two were separated when the Vulture swooped down, destroying the top of the plane in a failed attempt to thwart Peter's actions. Andi held onto the side of the plane and pulled herself back up to the top, where Peter was battling it out with the Vulture. She grunted and shot a web towards the Vulture, her wit and will to protect Peter now at an all-time high. She refused to lose him to a stubborn parrot.
The Vulture turned to look at her, now seeming more agitated that she'd shown up to help him, but shocked to see that she was just like Peter. He knew her, or he'd seen her face before. Even with the wind and the darkness he could make out her face. She was Liz's friend, she was on the decathlon with Liz. He didn't want to hurt either of them, especially not Andi, but they were interfering with his business, and that was not something he was too fond of.
Andi was flung through the air and towards another turbine, just as Peter was. She was becoming tired of dealing with the man and wanted nothing more than for the fight to be over. Unlike Peter, Andi was not able to latch onto the back of the plane in time, which scared Peter to death.
"Andi!" he called, a trembling fear in his tone. He shot a web out to catch her the moment she released one as well. The webbing wrapped itself around the other, securing Andi into place. Peter pulled and pulled until he had her in his free arm, and he released her once he knew she could safely make her way down to the plane, which she did.
Andi latched onto the plane and shot a web at Peter, which caught onto his hoodie. She jerked her wrist and pulled him onto the plane, holding on tightly to him so she wouldn't lose him.
The Vulture was now tearing into the plane, probably to get at least one box to feed his fantasies, Andi thought. They were losing altitude, though, and they were losing it fast. The plane itself was half destroyed, and by the looks of things, quite a bit of New York City would be as well if they didn't get a handle on things.
"Peter, the city!" Andi alerted him. "The wing, the wing, the wing!"
Andi and Peter shot their webs at the wing, using all of their strength to turn the plane. They couldn't let it crash, they just couldn't.
Their attempts did not last long at all. Both the teenagers were removed from their spots. Andi found herself clinging onto the plane for dear life as it continued to soar through the air and towards an unknown destination. She couldn't do anything else, not yet at least.
Andi screamed as the plane finally crashed, sending both her and Peter flying through the air and onto the ground after losing their grip on the aircraft. Andi rolled harshly through the sand and came to an abrupt stop. Every part of her body ached. Her ears were ringing, and her energy had left her body in one fell swoop. She was miserable, unsure if she could go on, but she had to try.
With as much strength as she could muster, she pushed herself off the ground. She looked around for Peter, and once she spotted him a few feet over, she started crawling. He had just removed his mask and was struggling to remain upright. From what Andi could see, he was bloodied and bruised, just as she probably was, but the last thing she was worried about was herself. She was only worried about Peter and his well-being.
"Peter," she forced out, though her ears were ringing so badly she couldn't even hear herself.
He glanced over at her though, confirming that although she couldn't hear herself, he could hear her. Peter reached a hand out to her, but the two could never make contact with one another. The Vulture came barreling through the air, knocking both of them back and injuring them further.
Andi was stuck, stuck in the sand. She wanted to move, but she was too weak. She could only watch as Peter dove through the air, doing his absolute best to miss a hit, but he did not remain lucky.
The Vulture began his assault on Peter as soon as he had him pinned to the ground, and Andi sucked in a harsh breath at the mere sight of someone else bringing harm to Peter. Her instincts to protect him kicked in, and she used what little was left of her strength to push herself off the ground. She shot a web towards the Vulture, which latched onto his burning set of wings. She attempted to pull him off of Peter, but instead, Peter was pulled into the air along with Andi.
Peter soon began to fall, and Andi dove down after him, webbing him and webbing the Vulture, who was not at all happy about dealing with the two of them. He slammed the two of them into the ground repeatedly, and while Peter was able to get up, Andi was not. She remained in the sand, watching as the fight continued knowing she could do nothing to stop it. Within minutes, she lost consciousness.
One look towards the blonde revealed to Peter that for the moment, she was gone, and this scared him to death. He continued fighting, not only for the sake of himself or the Vulture, or Stark, but for Andi's sake. He needed to get her to safety. He needed to get her away from the man hellbent on destroying the two of them. He could not lose her.
Peter shot a web the Vulture's way and stood up, trying as hard as he could to pull him back. His wing suit was going to explode, so it was not only a matter of saving Andi, but saving the Vulture as well.
"Time to go home, Pete," Vulture spoke with a bright smile on his face, unaware of what was to happen.
"I'm trying to save you!"
In an instant, the webbing had been snipped and Peter was flying back to the ground. He did everything he could to save the Vulture, but instead he sat back and watched in horror as an explosion rang through the air. He screamed and jumped over Andi's body to protect her from the initial blow, before getting up and running into the flames. Peter wouldn't let him die, despite the measures he'd gone to in order to rid Peter from the earth. It just wasn't the kind of person he was.
Peter located the wing suit in the sand and lifted it up to reveal the man beneath it. He shoved the suit aside and pulled the Vulture over his shoulders, carrying him to safety clear of the flames. Peter placed him on the ground while he gathered together all of the boxes, webbing them together before finally taking care of the Vulture.
Peter took a deep breath and glanced over to see Andi still laying soundly on the ground, and he rushed over to her, kneeling down on the ground to roll her over. Her face was full of contusions and lacerations, as was the rest of her body. She was only wearing her homecoming dress, and it made Peter sick to his stomach to know she hadn't had more bodily protection, despite her abilities, though he admired what she could do in just a dress.
"You're gonna be okay, baby."
Peter huffed and pulled her off the ground, holding her tightly in his arms as he rushed away. She had taken such good care of him over the last few months, which meant it was now his turn to take care of her, despite his own pain. He would take all the pain in the world if it meant she would not have any, and he would hold himself to that through everything that saw them through.
