Afterword!!!

Wow.

     I can't believe I've finished this book. And I can't believe it's been three years—it certainly doesn't feel like it. Holy shit. Whether you've stuck around since then, or you've just joined us, or you're reading this a year from now, from the bottom of my heart: thank you. It truly means so much to me. It sounds cheesy, but I never would have made it this far without your support and your investment in the story.

     I hope the ending was fulfilling, and I hope it was open-ended enough that you can let your imaginations run wild when thinking about what's next for Laila and Evie. Personally, I like to think that they are living together in a castle somewhere and Evie is teaching Laila how to sew and Laila's sewing little doggy outfits for Isak, and her and Evie are happy and in love.

     Laila, I'm going to miss you. As I continued to write the story, your character grew and evolved and I'm so proud of who you've become.
