ghee rice
Hope u all come across this recipe .yes its an Indian dish which is made during occasion and also for special lunch and dinner .
Ingredients:
Onion : slices
Ginger garlic paste: two spoons
Chilli (green) : 4nos
Coconut milk : 1cup
Rice : 3 small cup.
Lavang and cardamon
Green peas : little
Ghee:
Method :
In a pressure cooker ...add ghee. Once it melt add cardamon lavang ,onion ,green peas and saute it...till the raw smell of onion go off and add ginger garlic paste, green chilli.and again saute it . add the basmati rice which is finely washed ,then add coconut milk one cup and add five cups of water....add salt up to ur taste ..then close the lid and pressure cook with 2 to 3 whistle..
You will get a fine texture of ghee rice...now u can serve this with veg kurma or mutton kurma...
Purely its white color pulao....yes it looks good and rich in taste...
Note:
Cardamon and lavang is used only for seasoning ...its rich in aroma..you can use even cinnamon(pattai) and brinji leaves .
Since ghee is used in this dish it is named as ghee rice
Use thick coconut milk ...which is pure extract of coconut
Green peas is used just to make attractive for the pulao
This dish is mainly famous in Karnataka .
You can make it even with normal rice if u don't available with basmati ..basmati is used to get richness of your pulao.
Ginger garlic paste is fine if it is home made..
Green chilli is used to give taste for this food ..so add green chilli as u like to use...add little if u don't like heavy hot of chilli
You can compensate of using packet milk instead of coconut milk.. But you won't get exact taste of it.
Garnish with coriander leaves if u want.
This is one of my favourite and it is thought by my mom...
