Rebound, But Newfound {15}
"Here Tomcat. Put these away," dad said and handed me a small stack of books. I nodded and left to the children's section of my parents' library to put the books away.
I began to set the books down on the shelves, enjoying the peace and quiet of the library. A few of the little kids were giggling at a table, but that was really the only noise besides the occasional turn of a book page. It was relaxing.
I wasn't talking to my mom. I don't know why her words had bothered me so much, but they had and I was mad at her. I hadn't talked to Zeke in a few days either. I had just been sitting up in my room reading.
I limped out of the children's section and into the teenager's section. I began to stack a few of those books back onto the shelves.
Arms wrapped around my waist. I rolled my eyes and continued to stack the books. "Zeke, I'm working," I said flatly. What was he doing here?
"It's your parents' library, and you're volunteering. You can take a minute to talk to your boyfriend," Zeke said, resting his chin on my shoulder.
"I wasn't completely sure I still had a boyfriend," I grumbled.
"Well, maybe you would've been if you had answered his calls and texts," Zeke said with a shrug, straightening up but keeping his arms around my waist. "I've been checking at the library for you every day."
"I've been resting in my room. Because my ankle," I said, and felt a little guilt when Zeke winced.
"Tommy, please come talk to me. Just hear me out. Please," he begged desperately. I sighed as I put the last book away.
I turned in Zeke's arms and nodded. "Fine. Whatever. Come with me." I took his hand and pulled him to the back room of the library. I shut the door and locked it before motioning at Zeke to sit on the beat up couch in the room. He did, and I sat next to him.
"Talk," I said, leaning back a little.
"I didn't mean to hurt Tommy. I would never hurt you on purpose. I don't even know where you got a stupid idea like that. I talked to the guys who were there that day, and Phil had the same thought, so I'm going to assume you got it from him," Zeke started.
"Assuming makes an ass out of u and me," I pointed out.
"Oh shut up Tommy. Anyways, I'll take that as a yes, Phil gave you that idea. I don't know where he got it from either. But it's not true. I don't want to see you get kicked off the team. It's just not right. And I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings the other day. I'm really trying hard Tommy."
He took my hands in his. "I..." he trailed off, probably not sure where he was going with that.
I leaned forward and kissed him gently. "I was just upset. I didn't mean to snap at you over anything Zeke," I said with a slight shrug. "I believe that you didn't mean to hurt me. I don't know where Phil got the idea from either, but we'll ask him."
Zeke laid down and held me. "I'm sorry Tommy. This relationship is so...ugh. I'm sorry," he said miserably.
"I don't care Zeke. I love you," I said, kissing him.
Zeke deepened the kiss and licked my bottom lip. I opened my mouth and he rubbed his tongue up against mine. Zeke flipped us so that I was lying on top of him. He ran his under my shirt, and up and down my back.
I grabbed Zeke's hips and grinded our lower halves together. Zeke let out a slight moan and I grinned to myself, loving the sound.
Zeke pulled my shirt off and tossed it on the floor. I pulled Zeke to his feet, completely forgetting about my injured ankle.
Zeke pushed me against the wall and we grinded together harder. Zeke's hands roamed my chest eagerly and dipped down to the waistline of my jeans.
Zeke pulled his mouth away from mine and our eyes locked. I nodded slightly, and Zeke sank to his knees.
He smirked and caught the zipper of my jeans in his teeth. He unzipped my pants and dropped them to my ankles, letting my boxers follow and leaving my whole body exposed for him. He eyed me hungrily before taking my erection into his hands.
I stiffened and bit my lip as he worked his hands gently. I moaned as Zeke took me into his mouth and began to suck me.
My fingers tried to dig into the walls, as if that were even possible. Zeke grabbed my legs and pulled me closer to himself. I moaned again as he ran his tongue over my tip.
Zeke began to suck me harder and I tangled my hands in his hair. "Zeke," I groaned as I came in his mouth. Zeke swallowed and stood up, pressing his body against mine and kissing me deeply, letting me taste myself.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, kissing him passionately. "I love you," I breathed against his lips before kissing him again.
Zeke's hands slid down to his jeans and he began to struggle with his belt. I grabbed his hands and pulled away from him, smirking a little and shaking my head.
"Not yet," I said, stepping away from him and grabbing my clothes. I quickly redressed and went over to a deeply blushing Zeke. I pecked his lips and gently stroked his face.
"And to think we were technically fighting 20 minutes ago," I said quietly.
"Don't remind me," Zeke mumbled, hugging me and kissing my cheek.
He sighed and kissed me. "Tommy, we need to stop. I hate this. I hate seeing you insecure with me. I hate hurting you. I hate all the doubts. Can we just go on a date tomorrow? No drama, and we can talk everything out if we want to."
I nodded and pulled Zeke over to the couch. He sat down and pulled me into his lap. I rested my head on his shoulder. "Where do you want to go?" I asked.
"Let me surprise you. It'll be better than the breach; I promise. This can be part of my apology for hurting you so much," he said.
"Zeke, it's not all your fault. It's me being insecure and confused and shit. So calm down. You don't have to apologize," I assured him, kissing him.
But Zeke should his head stubbornly. "I'm doing this Tommy. I'll pick you up tomorrow at...we'll say noon for right now. Subject to change." He smiled a little.
"Just make sure your use mouth wash," I said and he blushed again. I smirked and kissed him deeply.
"I love you Zeke," I said, looking into his eyes.
He squinted a little as the light reflected off my eyes, but smiled sadly. "You're so amazing Tommy," he said softly. Eh, close enough. For now, at least.
After a few minutes of sitting together comfortably, I got off of Zeke's lap. My ankle was stinging a little, but I ignored it as I helped Zeke stand up. I kissed him and glanced at the room.
"Just don't tell my rents," I said with a shrug.
"Or mine. Oh god. My mom would kill me," Zeke said and laughed.
I took his hand in mine and we left the back room together. My dad glanced at us and gave me a knowing look. He motioned me over and I kissed Zeke before following him curiously. He made sure no one was in hearing distance before turning to me.
"I know you're not little everywhere Tomcat," he said with a wink before ruffling my hair and giving me a slight shove towards Zeke.
I walked back over to Zeke and took his hand again. "What did he want?" Zeke asked curiously as we began to walk towards the teenager's section.
"He...you know what? Don't worry about it," I said.
Zeke shrugged and he and I sat down at a table together, talking lightly. I looked up and mentally groaned as I saw Kory looking at books.
Zeke gave me a curious look before following my gaze. Kory turned and waved to us with a bright smile. Zeke waved back.
I could see the conflict in Zeke's eyes. Great. He still wanted Kory more than me. Way to ruin my freaking day. So much for that date tomorrow.
But Zeke simply turned back to me and took my hands. "Hey, let's go somewhere else Tommy. I want to be alone with you," he said with a soft smile.
We stood up and I began to limp. Zeke let me wrap my arm around his neck and we made our way towards the exit of the library.
"Hi guys!" Kory greeted brightly as we passed him.
"Hey Kory. Talk to you later. We're busy," Zeke said, glancing at Kory. I could see Zeke battling himself in his eyes. I nearly smiled. He was so cute.
Kory nodded and waved to us as we left the library. "It's you and me Tommy. I'm not fucking up again after I just got you back," Zeke promised and kissed me gently. I did smile this time. We were really going to be okay, and our date tomorrow would prove that.
