Clink clank

Utensils clashing was heard with the children's laughter when Leila and her kids joined them. Par-chan invited them for a snack after a long time in the field with heat and tears.

"Here comes the airplane!" Shantel swung her spoon with a small cut of cake, swinging it in the air as she teased Li Men who was having fun with it. Before the 'airplane' reached Li Men's mouth, Shantel put it on her mouth!

Li Men pouted which they found cute, Shannaille on the other hand, fed him a small spoon of slice mango cake. As soon as it reaches his mouth, Li Men gleamed with happiness.

Meanwhile, Pardon and Li Shun used their spoon and fork to fight each other over a single slice of chocolate cake left! Though they left some to their mother, sister Carla, and brother Kai, the extra one was left alone at the table... But not for long...

"Hiya!" Pardon uses his fork to defend the chocolate cake from an intruder named Li Shun. Although he baked them with Shannaille last night for a test, as a kid, he also wanted to eat it.

He was planning to use their three baked cake and cookies to surprise sister Carla and thanked them, but after witnessing the event in the field, he thought it was best to eat them now to at least comfort them.

What is the best comfort? Sleep and food!

Before preparing the baked cakes, he and Shannaille made some juice, tea and baked more cookies!

However, the children could not resist the delicious aroma... hence they dig in!

When Carla sees them with joy, her heart felt warm and a smile was seen on her cute chubby face. Kai who was being held by his mother in her arms tugged her indicating he wanted to join them too.

Leila kissed his forehead before putting him down gently and watched him run towards the kids---no, the table! He stared at the strawberry cake intently and pouted in front of Li Shun and Pardon. They smiled and gave him a slice.

Which made him giggled!

He wasn't choosy but he seems to be craving strawberry today. Hence, he could not resist and went straight to it.

Carla followed him and she chose the baked cookies with tea, she was delighted with the taste and nodded. Leila sat beside Li Men and helped Shannaille feed him. She enjoys watching kids cheerfully.

In that teatime, Carla forgot how much she shed tears for Lulu watching her suffers, they forgot how dumbstruck they are witnessing Leila screams as her organs were bursting one by one and regenerated after with agony.

They forgot all the troubles and problems they had for a short time in the teatime the children brought with an energetic ambience.

Seeing their new family with smiles likes sunshine after the rain, Pardon and Li Shun fist bump secretly with how successful their snack time is.

After snack time, Leila, Carla and Kai stayed for a while to play with the children. They plan to eat lunch at the mansion to avoid suspicion. However, before that, Leila brought Carla to the cave. Kai followed them while riding his toy car that was pushed by his yellow butterfly, Charlotte.

As soon as they entered the treasure cave, Leila stood in front of the teddy bear the first gift she made for her daughter. "Aruka..." She stated.

Carla knew they were going to talk about it soon, but hearing that name, there's a pain that scratched in her heart. It was a pain with guilt, confusion, and hatred.

Leila continued, "Remember the war where the last chosen one last found?"

"Yes," Carla nodded.

"Long ago, after Shara gave birth to three sons, the clan assume they would receive the blessing. They ripen the children to who they want them to be and even experiment them... Without Shara's knowledge." Leila caressed the teddy bear.

Carla stared at the teddy bear, she remembered that the key inside it was fake... And the real key... Carla moved her head slightly in the direction of the gem leaf above them and took a glimpse of the shining gem.

She pondered whether she should tell her mother or not... However, it wasn't appropriate to talk about it now. After all, they were still talking about that weapon.

Little did she know, Kai behind them saw Carla glanced at the cave ceiling. Though he didn't understand what was it about.

Leila continued, "That's probably why the three sons showed their psychotic side when their mother died. But that's just my guess. Anyway, while experimenting with them... That experiment continues..."

"From generation to generation... Until the last chosen one." Leila resumed, "That was because they finally became successful in creating one weapon that could effortlessly kill and harm the chosen ones familiars."

Carla frowned. And so did Kai. There was something in his heart that wanted to go wild. But didn't understand it.

"I only knew about it by reading books but they didn't put it on the record how or what happened. All it says was that was the most dangerous weapon ever. It won't harm ordinary people, however... one slash could harm or even... eliminate the familiars or..." Leila turned her attention to Carla, "... the chosen ones..."

"I haven't seen it before, only my parents did. Because only the leaders can see, or use them..." Leila smiled a bittersweet.

Carla pondered, "Mama, what happened back then? Why do you have to run?" She was too curious but didn't have the guts to ask.

Leila smirked, "That's another story to tell. Just be careful alright? I don't know why did the leaders permit Annalisa to use it, but we had seen how it affects Lulu. She hasn't even touch nor see it, but it affected her that much..."

Carla bit her lower lip and looked down. Leila caressed her head, "It's fine. Everything will be fine, let's just be careful. From now on, all your familiars should be hidden. Keep hiding them in your space for a while and don't let Lucy get near Annalisa nor anyone. Keep them in your mark. As long as they are attached to you, they are safe."

"As for the Aruka, I'll think about how to steal it. I can not use your help because it would affect you well. Unlike me, I can touch it. I only have the blood of Shara but I am not the chosen one. It might affect me but we are not sure about it..." Leila held her chin and thought it through.

Carla held her mother's dress, "Mama, I'm scared..." She didn't know when did she start to depend on her mother and followed every instruction.

All she know was that she wasn't alone anymore... Trying to save her loved ones and escape, she wasn't alone anymore... Her mother might not remember the past before she reborn, but her mother knows about it. She can be honest with her... Carla knows she can trust her mother...

"It's okay... It'll be alright..." Leila reassured her.

Kai left the entrance of the cave without anyone noticing him.

Leila then suggested, "Let's go back to the mansion for lunch, I still have to face your father..."
