First party in nearly 3 years
Not spending the special
Holiday at home or in pajamas
New Year's 2016
Eve and day were wonderful

Partied in Brooklyn for the
First time ever
But came home at 5:30am
Just like old times

Through an old friend
Met new ones
Drank, ate, and was merry
Bought a dress with a purse,
Got pampered

And drove there and back only
Getting tired towards the end
As the countdown started
Ball dropped in Times Square
I inched into a new milestone

5 months since day zero
New Year's 2016
Was and is a discovery of self
Continuation of growth
And celebration of achievement
