Rose was seated in a one of the seats, not really caring about who was seated around her until a voice filled her ears, "What did you do to get arrested princess, be too cute?", Rose knew that that comment was meant for her, "First of I'm not a princess honey, I'm a goddamned Queen, and secondly mind your own fucking business." she replied, turning her head to face the boy who had made the comment, his face lit up when her features came into view making him comment once more "Ahh the Rebel Queen, it's an honour to meet you."
"And it will my pleasure to punch you in the face if you keep talking." another voice replied, one that made Rose arch a brow at and the boy turn away from, "Dickhead." the same voice commented, "I can fight my own battles, but thanks" Rose stated to the person, "No worries, I'm Octavia." the girl, who's voice belonged to replied, "Rose, you have my best friend's name." Rose countered, "Maybe cuz I'm here." The tannish brunette stated, frowning the brunette girl accessed the brunette before her before allowing her eyes to open wide.
Before her was indeed the young girl she called her best friend, Octavia Blake, only not as little as she remembered her, but still gorgeous, "O!" she exclaimed, throwing her arms as best as she could around the brunette who replied, "I've missed you!" Octavia replied, hugging the older brunette as best as she could, "What happened? How did you get arrested? Did they find you? Stupid of course they found you. But how?" Rose sputtered.
"I went outside, for the unity day mascarade party but got caught, mom got floated." Octavia explained making the pale brunette frown once more, "But it's okay, I have you now." she quickly added making her best friend nod just as the drop ship that they were in rumbled, making a few prisoners scream, "What was that?" Octavia inquired, her hand clinging onto Rose's "That was the atmosphere." the older brunette explained, rubbing her thumb over Octavia's knuckles, soothing her.
"Prisoners of The Ark, hear me now." an annoyingly familiar voice filled the room. "You've been given a second chance, and as your Chancellor, it is my hope that you see this as not just a chance for you, but a chance for all of us, indeed for mankind itself. We have no idea what is waiting for you down there. If the odds of survival were better, we would've sent others. Frankly, we're sending you because your crimes have made you expendable."
The voice, everyone knew to belong to Chancellor Jaha, was heard, prompting one of the prisoners to call out "Your dad's a dick, Wells." before the voice continued "If, however, you do survive, those crimes will be forgiven, your records wiped clean. The drop site has been chosen carefully. Before the last war, Mount Weather was a military base built within a mountain. It was to be stocked with enough non-perishables to sustain 300 people for up to two years."
Unfortunately for everyone the voice seemed to never cease so when one of the prisoners unstrapped himself and began to float everyone cheered "Spacewalker strikes again." "Go Finn." "No one ever made it there. Because we spare you no food, or water, or medicine, I cannot stress strongly enough, that Mount Weather is life." the voice continued, "Check it out. Your dad floated me, after all." the Spacewalker commented as he floated in front of two of the councilors children. "You should strap in before the parachutes deploy." Wells Jaha, the leader Chancellor's son stated.
Only of course people follow by example, meaning it came to no surprise when two other kids began to unbuckle themselves, "Hey, you two, stay put if you want to live." Clarke Griffin, Abigail's daughter and Rose's old sister figure, stated. "You must locate those supplies immediately." came from the speakers, "Hey, you're the traitor who's been in solitary for a year." Spacewalker stated, "You're the idiot who wasted a month of oxygen on an illegal spacewalk." Clarke countered, "But it was fun. I'm Finn." Spacewalker replied.
"Your one responsibility is stay alive." "Stay in your seats!" Clarke demanded over to the duo that had began to float, but before they got far the ship was pulled back and to the side making everyone groan and those who floated be thrown against the wall, "Finn, are you okay?" Clarke inquired the Spacewalker.
Screams were heard everywhere and Octavia couldn't help but cling onto Rose's hand for dear life, "Retrorockets ought to have fired by now." Wells shouted over the screaming "Okay. Everything on this ship is a hundred years old, right? Just give it a second." Clarke replied, earning an annoyed and sarcastic comment from Rose "We are falling to our deaths! Do you really think we have a minute Griffin!"
This caused Clarke to whirl her head around, her eyes catching Rose's figure instantly, shock filling her features as she silently begged for the retrorockets to work. Wells: Clarke, there's something I have to tell you. I'm sorry I got your father arrested. And then like a miracle and Clarke's prayers were heard the rockets activated, but it wasn't much because the drop ship crashed almost instantly after, making everyone gasp or scream.
Slowly the lights that had been flickering came back on and silence, beside's the panting from the 100, filled the room. "Listen. No machine hum." one of the boys behind Octavia and Rose stated making the boy next to him to reply "Whoa. That's a first." Then instantly the buckles unmade themselves, freeing everyone who began to rush to get down stairs, except, Clarke, Finn, Rose and Octavia, the two daughters of Chancellors rushing to the fallen boys and inspecting them, "Rose, is he breathing?" Clarke inquired her old sister, who simply yet sadly shook her head.
"The outer door is on the lower level. Let's go." Someone shouted, alarming the two girls, "No. We can't just open the doors." They shouted simultaneously, Clarke getting up and rushing to get downstairs while the pale brunette turned to Octavia who was staring at the two dead boys. "Hey, it's okay, look at me." Rose said, pulling her away from the boys and towards the stairs, "They're dead." Octavia said in shock, "It's okay, let's just get down there and out of this ship." Rose countered, rubbing her arms, which made Octavia nod slowly and begin to climb down the stairs while Rose climbed another.
"Bellamy?" Octavia called out inquiring, being the first from the duo to notice the older man, she quickly jumped the last few bars and made her way to the front "My God, look how big you are." the man, Bellamy, Octavia's older brother and Rose's guardian angel and partner in crime, stated, giving the young brunette a teary smile before the two embraced, "What the fuck are you wearing, a guard's uniform?" Rose couldn't help but inquire as she reached the two.
Bellamy, turned to the pale brunette who had spoken and did a double take, his eyes scanning his partner in crime that he hadn't seen in 5 years. "I borrowed it to get on the drop ship. Someone has got to keep an eye on you two." he stated, teasing at the end, earning a laugh from Octavia and an eye-roll from Rose, "Where's your wristband?" the blonde girl inquired. "For fuck's sake Clarke..." Rose grumbled while Octavia replied "Do you mind? I haven't seen my brother in a year."
This of course seemed to spark everyone's interest as comments began to float "No one has a brother." and "That's Octavia Blake, the girl they found hidden in the floor." being the loudest which earned a sharp glare from Rose and a near attack from Octavia, who thankfully was pulled back by Bellamy, "Octavia, Octavia, no. Let's give them something else to remember you by." he told her earning a cocked brow from his little sister.
Of course he hadn't thought this through because he had no answer to give her when she inquired "Yeah? Like what?" but his partner in crime did, because she stepped up and said "Like being the first person on the ground in a hundred years." Octavia's eyes turned to her best friend and a smile etched on her face. The trio turned to the door and Bellamy pulled the lever, making the door open and a wave of fresh, clean and natural air fill the drop ship.
Everyone blinked as the sun, the sun seen from the ground, blinding and warm, blinded them, taking deep breaths of fresh, non-filtered air as Octavia slowly made her way down the ramp, Rose grabbed Bellamy's hand and gripped, praying that nothing bad happened.
The tannish brunette reached, agonisingly slowly, the end of the ramp before hopping onto the ground, and breathing in once more shouting "We're back, bitches!"
