It was late at night and I can't sleep. 'Is it because of those dreams I keep having? or is it that I'm just not tired?' I got up from my bed and went out to my balcony to look at the stars. The balcony shows a perfect view of the kingdom. The way the moon light hit the town of my kingdom help settle my heart and relax from all the stress from being a prince. Ever since my father died things became different. I still wonder to this day who killed my father, but that was a long time ago when I was a kid. The person who assassinated him is probably long gone by now. I sighed at the envy I felt from my people. They're all free and can leave their homes whenever they want without being punished by my so-call 'father' Naraku. "Agh...just thinking his name makes my stomach turn" I hated Naraku's guts, ever sense my real father died, Naraku never aloud me to go out of the palace grounds. 'I just wanna see my people. I wanna be a good leader and help them as much as I can, but thanks to that bastard of a king I can't do a thing.' well....that wasn't entirely true.

There was this guy who is one of the servants of the palace, in fact he was one of my closed friends I've ever had sense I was just a little boy. His name is Miroku, and we basically do everything together when I'm not busy doing my prince duties. He's not a big fan of Naraku himself so he sometimes wound try to help me escape the palace walls. But we would fall every time because of the guards. It's so unfair to how he was treated by his 'father'.

I look out to the town of my kingdom and can only imagine what it was like being a commoner. A simple towns person just walking down the streets without a care in the world. "Someday Inuyasha, Someday...." I say to myself. I look up to see a shooting, I close my eyes and hold my hands together and put them to my heart to make a wish. 'I wish to be able to walk about my kingdom and see my people, to be free' I look out to town one last before going to bed but saw something in the distance. It was all shadowy so I couldn't see who it was, but I could tell that it was looking at me. 'What? Who is that?' I think to myself trying to get a better look at who shadow figure was. The figure noticed I was looking at them and run off so they could no longer be seen. 'What? What in the name of Kami was that? No, more like 'who' was that?' I tried to shrug it off and then finally decided to head inside, get into bed, and sleep.

*In The Morning*

The sun light hit my tired eye throw the window of my balcony. I squinted my eyes for a few seconds and finally opened them to see the sun rising. I sit up from my bed and yawned then stretched my arms out so I wouldn't fall asleep again. I get out of bed and start getting dressed into my closes. I was wearing a red vest with gold stitch lines with black jeans that look like tights with blue stitch lines and my hair up in a long, high ponytail. I went down stairs to get some breakfast, but before I could reach the kitchen I ran into Miroku. "Yo Miroku! what's up" I asked a little tired. "Nothing much, just preparing for your and the kings breakfast." Miroku replied "That's awesome thanks Miroku"

"Bro, you okay? you look a little tired" Miroku asked

"heh, you could say that" I rub my eyes trying to stay awake.

"Well your breakfast is almost ready so just wait a few more minuets" and with that Miroku left to finished cooking.

*10 Minutes Later*

After I got my food I went to my room to eat in there sense I felt uncomfortable eating with 'father'. But I would never eat alone sense I'd get bored. Miroku would always come eat with me so we could have some fun talking to each other. "So?" Miroku asked "So what?" I replied

"When are you going to try and escape again?"

"Hell I'm gonna know...besides, what the point in trying if I get caught every single time?"

"You can't just give up man, that's not like you"

"Well what do you think I should do, Miroku? I can't exactly just walk up to the door and walk throw them." I cover my head in my hands out of frustration "Hey, don't be like that okay? I'm sure we'll come up with something so you can finally see your people." Miroku said with a smile patting me on the back. I sighed and got up to walk to my balcony. Miroku followed. "I mean it's bad enough that I can't got out but it's even worse that Naraku tries to find me a suitor to marry every other days. It's annoying as fucking hell!" I say angered "Try to calm down prince Inuyasha, that stress isn't going to help you in any way."

'Hmmmm...maybe there's a way' Miroku thought

"Inuyasha, I might have an idea" Miroku says causing my dog like ears to perk up a little "Really? You think you can get me out of here?"

"I'm not sure yet, I'll have to see if I'm correct on this but I think I can get you out of here" Miroku replied "Well I can only hope your correct"

"I'll think there's a map somewhere in the storage room that leads to an underground tunnel system that heads strait to the town, so just--" We were interrupted by a knock at my bed room door. So I walked to my door and opened it to relive another servant "Yes?" I asked the servant "Umm...the king requests for your presents prince Inuyasha" The servant bowed to me. I felt this overwhelming sickness his me when the servant told me that Naraku wanted to talk to me. I tried to acted calm so I took a beep breath. "Thank you for telling me, please tell father that I'll be there i just a minute"

"Y-yes your highness" and with that the servant left. I closed my door and let out a big sigh. "Nice acting there bro" Miroku said "Thanks man" I replied "What do you think the king wants now?"

"He's probably going to introduce me to another princess to try and marry me..."

"Hmmmm...well, hears what I want you to do okay? You meet up with Naraku while I look for that map in the storage room to the tunnels. Once I find the tunnels I'll let you know to meet me at a certain time in my room so you can get out of here, for the day at least." Miroku explains

I nodded "Thanks Miroku, you really are a good friend"

"Happy to help your highness" Miroku bowed to me "now lets do this" I say then we leave my room. 'If this plan works then I'll be able to leave the palace without anyone even noticing. Let's just hope it does work' Miroku and I left in different directions so he'd look for the map and I'd see my 'father'. When I made it to the main foyer to revile my older brother Sesshomaru and Naraku waiting for me. "You called for me father" I asked

"Yes, Inuyasha. I've summoned you to meet the princess of the southern lands" Naraku replied. I had a feeling that's what this meeting was about. 'If this princess is like the last one then I might as well explode' "Inuyasha" Sesshomaru interrupted my train of thought "Pay attention you lazy mutt" I rolled my eyes at my brothers comment about me. "Inuyasha, meet the princess of the southern lands, Kikyo."

*Miroku's POV*

As prince Inuyasha and I when our separate ways, I began my search of the map to the tunnels. Trying my best to not look suspicious, I went to the storage room, but before I entered I looked around to make sure no one was either looking or around. Once I saw that the coast was clear I went inside the storage room. "Okay, time to find that map."

I started my search by looking through the bottom shelves. One shelf by one there was nothing in sight. But I refused to give up so I start looking through the next level of shelves. Still nothing! 'This might me a little harder than I thought.' I decided to look every level until there would be ZERO shelves left. "Lets do this!"

*30 minuets later*

I sit down in disbelieve and sigh. "I can't believe...that I looked on every shelf, and still nothing. I could have sworn that the map was in here though." I groan in frustration and hit the wall. All of a sudden there I heard a noise coming from the wall. When I turned to look behind me I saw the craziest thing I never thought I'd see "Oh. My. God."

*Inuyasha's POV*

I stood there in disbelieve at who I was looking at. Was it just me or was this actually real? "K-kikyo?! Is that really you?" I ask in shock

"It's nice to finally see you again, prince Inuyasha" Kikyo bows to me. I...I still can't believe it. Kikyo...my child hood crush--well once my child hood crush. I don't really have feelings for her anymore, but still! "Kikyo, it's been so long, how are you doing?" I start walking to her as she walks toward me.

"I've been doing great Inuyasha" She gives me a soft, sweet, genuine smile. "My, you have grown so much sense I last saw you. I've missed spending time with you Inu."

"I could say the same Kikyo, nothing like seeing an old friend right?" I looked at Kikyo then remember where I was and why Kikyo came in the first place. She came here to try and marry me! As much as I care for Kikyo, I can't marry her. She's a good friend and I don't wanna ruin it with something as stupid as marriage. I just hoped hope that she doesn't likr me in that way and she was just forced to come here.

"So, Kikyo." Naraku said "I see you and Inuyasha still have a good friendship between you"

"We do your highness" Kikyo blushes a little at the fact that she got to see Inuyasha again. I notice her vlush and so dose Naraku, and he smirked.

"Then please enjoy yourself at that palace and get to know my son more" I mentally grown in disgust that he called me his son.

"Of course, thank you for your hospitality your majesty" She gives a fake smile and bows to Naraku knowing that he has done...unpleasant things in the past. Also knows that he's my not his real son.

"Good, Sesshomaru?" he asked

"Yes father?"

"Yes father" Sesshomaru walks of his throne and starts walking to princess Kikyo "Follow me princess" Kikyo nodded and did as she was told and followed Sesshomaru. 'Kikyo, when I saw that blush on your face I...you still have feelings for me, don't you?' I thought to myself. "Inuyasha" a deep voice said in a cold and menacing tone. causing me to flinch a little. I turn around and look at Naraku. "Yes father?" I ask

"Kikyo is one of the last princesses I can. There are only so many Kingdoms out there and you can't keep turning every princess down." He says in a rude and annoyed tone "Father, I don't want to marry a random princess that cares only for herself and her looks or a good friend 'cause I fear for our friendship could end. If I were to marry I would want to marry for love!" I shout at Naraku, that was a big mistake. "You are not to speak to me like that! I am the king and you don't have a chose to marry a princess weather you like it or not! It's the law that only a prince can marry a princess!"

'You mean your law' I think to myself "Now go. you are dismissed from this meeting" Naraku ordered "Arg..." I say to myself and walk out of the main foyer and away from the fucking bastard of a king. I walk back to my room and go to my balcony to look at the active people to my kingdom to try and calm down and hope that Miroku finds that map soon.

*Miroku's POV*

"I....I can't believe this is here. So that's where it was" I look behind me to see that a secret hole in the wall has been opened, and there it lied inside it. The map to the tunnels! "I finally found it, yes!" I take the map out of the hole in the walk, and as soon as I did so, the hold covered it's self up again like it was never there in the first place. "Now...to take this to my room and tell prince Inuyasha..."

I walk out of the storage room and head to my room without trying to look like I'm hiding the map under my shirt. Once I made it to the door of my room I went inside and hid the map in one of my drawers. After I hid the map I laid down on my bed and sighed happily and said to my self "Soon prince Inuyasha, you'll finally be able to see your people beyond these palace gates."
