Sabine Wren, stared longingly out into the sea.

Due to an ongoing threat, her mermaid pod had left. It was only her, as she had chosen to stay behind on Mako Island.

Her two close friends, who had decided to go with the rest of the others, had suggested she go on land. Maybe she should try something new..

Sabine began the spell to grow legs and soon her orange tail was replaced by two long legs.

She couldn't understand how people could walk on these things, and she stumbled around.

Ketzu, her best friend, left some *land clothes* behind for her. Not all mermaids stayed in the water. Some did both.

Sabine grumbled as she admired her new clothes. They had some paint splatter on them, which she smiled at, but they were still nothing like her old tail.

She stumbled around, trying to get the feel for the legs, and slowly began to figure them out.

Well now she needed a job. Why were the lives of land people so complicated?

She grumbled slightly as she walked along the boardwalk, trying to blend in.

She walked up and saw a small cafe. It had a large "Help Wanted" sign on the door. Perfect. Sabine was always more of the artsy type, but hey-she'd take what she could get, and maybe she could have fun messing with drink flavors or something.

She opened the door and walked inside.

She saw a little clothing shop off to her right, and smiled at the young girl working there. She was tan, with long, black flowing hair. Her name tag read "Mira"

She walked up toward the counter to ask for an appli-whatever they call those things that you fill out. She wasn't sure of the name but she decided to roll with it.

The young man behind the counter had his back turned, shelving some drinks into a small cooler.

He had longer, black hair, and was fairly tan.

"Excuse me sir?" She asked, trying to be as confident as she could.

He turned around and smiled-that's when Sabine stopped.

Holy crab cakes

This guy was hotter than any merman she'd ever seen. Maybe land people weren't so bad after all.

She struggled to regain composure.

"I'm.....I'm Sabine Wren. I'd like to apply for a job here." She said, admiring his eyes.

Meanwhile, this guy was thinking the same thing. Sabine had an enchanting sort of glow around her, and she was beautiful beyond words.

"W-well the job is yours! I'm Ezra Bridger, the owner of The Phantom Cafe-aka your new place of work!" He said, laughing and holding out a hand for her to shake.

She looked at it oddly. What was this odd form of human communication? She awkwardly shook it, mimicking what she had seen Ketzu do in the past, and smiled.

Not even an hour on the land, and she already had a job-and a cute looking guy as well.

Okie so yea. builtonhope and lothcatwillow were both making AUs and I decided to join them, and made this Mako Mermaid AU. Now if you don't watch it, I highly recommend it cause it's amazing. Cast so far:
