Arjun's pov

A week went just like that. Today is the second hearing of Maya's case. From what I calculate there won't be a further hearing after this day because I won't allow that. What Maya warned me was inside my mind making me bit uncomfortable but still I believe that she was just ranting out of  sudden emotional breakdown.

Inside Court premises me and
Mr khan were discussing something about case before our time slot. I saw Maya coming with her baby who was sound asleep on her shoulders.

Case hearing started. Maya's points were strong but not strong as I can't say any counter points and I was sure that there is no way for my failure. But everything went upside down when Maya reveled that huge secret.

" Madam actually I don't want to say this in front of everyone at any cost but now since this case came to this  much I want to say something about  my child's parental rights. " Maya took a sudden glance at me with a smrik on her face. For a second I felt really uncomfortable about that smirk and then she said that

" My ex husband
Mr Rashid Ahammed Khan is not the biological father of Sara . He don't have any blood relation with her. Sara is my child who I gave birth without his knowledge. I am submitting the DNA test results and rest of the details  to prove that . " She kept a file on table for verification. I was shocked completely shocked like nothing came out from my mouth. I looked at Rashid with that shocked face but what surprised me was he was just sitting there with his head down.

From what I know if a husband get to know about his wife's extra martial affair and the child which he used to consider as his own suddenly became his no one this is not the reaction I expected. I was expecting him to break out and make a scene in this court room because just thinking about it  my blood was boiling from head to toe.

" This case will be continued after ten minutes of break " Judge ordered and Court dispersed.

" Maya we need to talk " Mr Khan stood from the bench and asked Maya to talk in private.

Their conversation  lasted for more than five minutes. Where I was waiting for them to talk further about case. After discussion Rashid came to my side not with a pleasant face.

" Mr Arjun , let's give up on this case. Let Maya take custody rights of Sara . That's the right thing " said him

" What ? Mr khan I know whatever she said is shocking for both of us but don't worry I didn't became a top notch lawyer in this field for nothing I can give Sara's custodian to you . Whoever is Sara's real dad all this time you raised her as your own . Your family accepted her as their own . Don't give up......." What I was saying I don't know . I think I was getting panicked because this is the first time I am facing such a blow unexpectedly.

He didn't say anything. After break we went inside and case proceeded.

" Court checked the evidence you submitted Miss Maya and it is proved that Sara is not blood related to plaintiff. Does opposition lawyer has anything to say ? " Judge  looked at me asked.

" No " said me.

" Rashid and me , we can't never lead a happy marriage life anymore . I don't want to show an unhappy family in front of my child. Since Sara is not related to him anyways he won't be emotionally attached to my child even if I give him custodian rights. Later he may marry another girl and there will be kids from that relationship in that condition Sara will only become an extra there or he may found Sara as a burden. I don't want to create such situation. " Maya stopped for a second and continued

" Sara needs a dad but that has to be her real dad and I decided to move on with him. Only he can give her that love and care which she needs. Sara to be with her real dad is the most necessary and important thing in her life. Madam please consider this request of mine and allow me to take complete responsibility of my baby. By this a family will be saved. I don't have any grudge against Mr khan I also wish him have a happy family. That's all " Maya completed her sentence and sat there giving me a death glare

I don't know about my own feelings now. I was really disappointed but for whom. May be at Maya , don't know why ?

Thinking back I remember the first time I am seeing her entering my cabin with Sara. Those innocent eyes which was red from continuous crying yet she tried her best to act strong. May be for the first time I felt sympathy or some kind of soft corner for my defendant. Deep inside I wanted her to win this case. I liked to tease her that's why at library even though it wasn't my job I helped her with the right books. I argued with her but all those feelings vanished within some minutes.

Now it's not any kind of sympathy or care it's all about some kind of hatred. I felt filthy when I see her face. She had an extra marital affair behind her husband's back and gave birth to a child . Raised that baby as her husband's baby for more than three years and now suddenly she wants that child as her own because she wants to start a new life with her lover . How can a women stoop so low. She doesn't even have anything called self respect .

There wasn't future arguments so judge decided to conclude the case by giving custodian rights of Sara completely to Maya. Judge ordered her verdict and court adjourned.

" Don't worry this is not your failure since my ex husband came to an understanding. " Maya came to my side and said. Fire of victory was very well burning inside her eyes.

" Get lost you bitch....." That's the only thing came from my mouth when I saw her face with that filthy smile.

" What ?.... Listen Mr...." She was about to say something but I don't want to hear anything from her and waste my time. So I walked away from her and went to parking area.

" Miss Maya I wish we  never meet our path again in this whole life time . Good by " I mumbled to myself and drive off from there.

Mili's POV

" I am envious of her . Now I got it why she is called as elite of this firm . Her style, attitude, way of work everything have to be appreciated. Everyone respects her , Juniors admires her and apprentices like me get envious of her " I was watching Priyanka, the ace of our law firm continuously for an hour. There are lots of clients for her and she is always busy with her work.

Viraj sir never compliment anyone like that but he got a good eye on Priyanka and he adores her a lot. Of course he will since she works for this firm's dignity.

When I was immersed in all these thoughts my desk phone ranged and it was Viraj.

" Mili bring those reports " he ordered. Before hearing me he cut the call

" Oh god what should I do now ? I didn't even complete a page. He is definitely going to roast me in front of his Juniors. Such a shame... " Still I took the report which I made and quickly went to discussion room.

His Juniors, interns everyone was there. Some were discussing case file. Some where analysing their reports and here me who is getting preparing for his firings.

" Give it " he forwarded his hands to receive my report and with much hesitation I passed my report.

There wasn't much drama like I expected but it was something worst than that. Without saying anything he just threw my files towards corner dustbin.

" Get out "and bashed me out. Everyone's attention was on me. Viraj doesn't even looked at face. He was busy reading something on is laptop screen.

Better not to meddle further which is good for my own health. I think case is something serious and he seems so bothered about this one case.

I was at cafeteria having some hot coffee to wash off all my embarrassment I faced before. Meanwhile someone came and sat across my seat . It was Priyanka , she smiled at me and joined with me.

" Looks like someone got a nice dosage from Viraj " she commented

" Yeah , it was worst " I replied and become more gloomy

" Cheer up girl. Just think that everything is for your own good. He may seems little rough and tough but he is a great mentor. Everyone is calling me an elite of this firm but do you know how I become capable to become like this ? " She asked

" No " I replied

" That's him. When I joined here as a senior lawyer from other firm I was fully confident. But later I understood whatever I was.... it was nothing. When I joined as his junior and went to court with him I get to know that what a real advocate is . All time for each and every small mistake he  shouted at me like I did some kind of grave sin and many times I even decided to resign from here. A day all of sudden he handed me a tough case and asked me to appear in court instead of him. " She stopped for a second and began to smile

" What happened ? " I asked out of curiosity

" I wasn't confident at all but I won that case. While argument I understood that for which ever mistakes he shouted at me they all played the strongest part inside Court and now I can even understand what my opposition lawyer is going to do. As a lawyer what else I need as a plus point ? " She looked at me with a warm smile and asked.

" Wow.... That was super cool.  Do you think that I can also become as good as you " asked me

" Of course you can.... " Before she could say further her phone ranged and suddenly a smile filled with shyness appeared on her face

" Hey baby... ... " Conversation was so lovey dovey. I think it's her lover , she seemed so happy while talking to him
After talking for some time she continued our conversation

" That was your lover right ? " I asked with a wicked smile

" Yeah... My life " she replied

" Where is he? I mean what is he doing ? " I asked

" He is also a lawyer also a part of Viraj associates " she replied

" Here ? Who ? I never... "

" Not this branch. He is in Mumbai branch. He was my batch mate at first . When I got selected to Viraj associates and made my place I recommended him to Viraj. He is a good lawyer specialized in civil cases. Last time performance was bit off so he got transferred to Mumbai branch. He is doing a great job there " without even asking she began to give all details about their love life. I think all lovers are same. They like to brag about their love life and lover.

" He won't get a transfer to here ? " I asked.

" I am trying to court Arjun. He has the authority to this transferring and all. According to performance level they are making the transfer orders. I hope Arjun will consider him this time. " She said with a worried face.

" Don't worry he will get transfer so that you can stay together. By the way..... " Before I could ask about him, one of her junior came there and took Priyanka with her.

Everyone's love life is going in right path if not at least they are trying to put them on right path but what about me ? What I am doing other than making things complicated.

I think I also have to court Arjun sir for my transfer. . There is not much time to waste. Before my family comes with other problem some how I have to get transfer.
