Day 25: Rumors will be the Death of Me Part Two

Here's what we've been waiting for from  Susianna2 <3

It's been centuries since I saw Error for the first time. I remember how often Geno would occasionally joke about destroying the aus, just so we could spend more time together. At least half of that joke came true. Unfortunately, the second part can't happen because of this idiotic creator and his neverending plans to stop him. Even more unfortunate for me, considering how I'm stuck in a meeting full of Sanses discussing how to end him.

"Okay, everyone! Everyone alright with the plan?" Ink questioned the noisy table I'm hovering near.

I would sit in one of the seats, but I learned early on that anyone sitting near me would fall out of their seats as if I have the plague or something. Apparently, there's this running gag where you can't touch Death or else. I just decided to hover instead to avoid anyone hurting themselves, and give myself an easy escape route if things get too ridiculous here. Had to float a little higher when a whole slew of hands shot in the air.

"Great. Reaper, we'll be counting on you to use your death touch on the destroyer to finish him off." My what touch? "Alright, get ready. I'll have the empty au done in an hour. The destruction ends today!" He leaves me in confusion and everyone else either nervous or murderous. There is no in between.

"Would anyone care to explain to me what the plan is again? I feel as though I missed something." I had to ask. A few of them looked at me as if I were an idiot.

"The heck, Reaper? Yer the game changer for the entire ducking plan, and ya tellin' us ya don't know? Fresh, ya little dip! Let me swear!" Fell glowered at the 90s nightmare, whose glasses fittingly say "Ha, no." Someone else decided to take over.

"Well, Reaper, we're going to ambush Error. When we reach the battle climax, you step in when he's distracted and use your death touch to end him."

"Uh huh. And where have you heard that I have a death touch?"

"Oh please, everyone knows bout yer death touch! It took down Geno after all, so it should take 'em down too, right?"

"Riiiiight." I still have no idea what they're talking about.

Let's hop into the battle, shall we?

The battle had begun. Error arrived mere minutes ago to destroy the au, only to face Ink on an empty battlefield. After exchanging words they both can recite by soul, Ink raised his brush in the air, signaling the council to attack.

Round after round. Bone after blaster, blaster after bones. No decipherable pattern, yet Error dodged them with a grace even Life would be jealous of.

But he couldn't dodge everything. My soul aches for him whenever an attack lands, even if it's a mere scratch. How could none of them notice that he's been on the defense the entire time? Any injuries on their side were all from friendly fire. He even pulled a Sans away from a blaster's line of fire, only to be hit himself.

Still, the attacks kept coming.

After a couple hours of this, everyone started to wear down. I have yet to move from my spot since no one has died yet. That's when Ink approached.

"Alright, Reaper, it's your turn now. He'll be too tired to avoid your touch." He's right, unfortunately. Has Ink really not noticed that it's because Error spent the entire time sparing them? "Go and use your touch to turn Error to dust!" I still have no idea what they're talking about. Still, it's been about a week since I've last seen Error.

No job is currently keeping me from floating my way to him now. I heard a few cheers and taunts towards him as the rest of the exhausted council noticed me passing them. Error looked up and de-summoned a handful of strings as I touched ground to approach him.

"Th37 g0t 70u r0p3d 1n t00?" Error would look more done than anything if it weren't for the marrow dripping into his socket.

"Yeah, something about ending you with a 'death touch' or something like that. That meeting was a bit of a blur."

"Th37'r3 st1ll g01ng 0n w1th th4t g4g? Th4t j0k3's b33n 0n l0ng3r th4n 1'v3 b33n d3str071ng" He flinched a touch when I tried wiping a bit of the marrow away.

"Oh, sorry! I keep forgetting your haphephobic now." He leaned into it as I pulled my hand away.

"N4h, just 4 l1ttl3 s0r3 fr0m th3 b4ttl3. 70u'r3 th3 0nl7 0n3 wh0 d03sn't 4ggr4v4t3 1t." Can't help but smile at that. My hand gingerly slipped further down his skull, his hand reaching up to meet mine.

Even covered in dust, marrow, and magic, he's still the sweetest and cutest skeleton I've ever known. Must have subconsciously wanted a taste considering how far I've started to lean forward. Error released the strings on his other hand to grab the front of my robe to help pull him all the way in.

The tiny clack of our teeth meeting seemingly echoed as the world quieted around us. My hand that lingered on his face had found his waist as I felt both of his hands wrap around my neck. My only focus was the taste of chocolate as I went deeper.

"You were only supposed to touch the destroyer, not make out with him!" Yeah, not even Ink can ruin this right now. And to show him I don't care, I showed him a finger on my free hand that even he should remember what it means. His offended gasp proved me right, freeing that hand to join the other one on Error's waist.

We stayed like that for a few more minutes before separating a little. Error's eyes cutely half closed either in pure bliss or from the freely running marrow.

"You should go on ahead of me. I'll join you soon to help wrap these up." His eyes fully opened, slight worry radiating from them.

"Wh4t 4r3 70u g01ng t0 d0?"

"Just going to explain a few things, clear up any misunderstandings and what not. I'll come help you bandage your injuries and we can cuddle after that, sounds good?" His glowing blush is all I need. I gave him a kiss on the forehead before stepping away, his hands releasing my neck in the process. He turned to limp through a portal, throwing me a wave before entering. I'm definitely all smiles from how cute he is, though I turn serious as I turn to go talk to the council who made him like that.

Screw floating, I walked right up to Ink, everyone knowing I mean business.

"Get everyone over here, we need to talk." He nodded, motioning for Dream and Blue behind him to start gathering people up. He stood there, glaring at me as if I'll kill someone if he loses eye contact. I just stand there patiently as everyone gathers. Once I felt all the souls have gathered, I began.

"You all must be idiots if you can't ask people the truth instead of plotting behind their backs. You call yourselves judges, yet true judges do their own research and get all sides of the story before judgement. None of you have any right to the title if you're listening to paint breath over here!" A few of the Fell variants looked ready for a fight while everyone stood in shock at my words.

"Well, what about the truth behind your death touch, huh? Explain that!" Ink really is speaking nonsense as always.

"I still do not know what that means!"

"Oh Please, Everybody Knows That Your Aura Is So Strong That You Can Dust A Monster With Just One Touch!" I looked at the Swapfell before teleporting in front of him and put my whole hand on his face. He screamed as soon as I made contact, everyone around us jumping away. He screamed for a solid two minutes, which would be impressive if we had lungs. "Aaaaaaah, How Am I Not Dead Yet?" Now that he's done screaming, I removed my hand.

"As I said before, I do not know what you mean." There were some scattered gasps as people realized what happened. Ink looked shocked, but not convinced.

"Ok, maybe not one touch. But didn't Geno die from overexposure to you?"

"The only thing dead about Geno is his name. You were actually fighting him ten minutes ago." More gasps, do people remember to breathe normal in between those, or are they taking turns?

"That was Geno?! He's alive and Error?! How?!"

"Not sure how, but he was turned into the destroyer due to an over creation stream that made it so I had to spend half of my time fishing souls out of the void whenever aus crashed into each other. In fact, you should be thanking him for ensuring that the aus stops crashing into each other. Just don't deadname him or anything, he prefers being Error now." I noticed a lot of sockets widening as I spoke. Ink is very noticeably grasping at straws now.

"Then what about the death touch? How do you explain that?"

"I can't explain something I don't have. It's almost physically impossible to die by touch, only exceptions being somewhat rare diseases. I don't even know where you heard about such a thing." Maybe he'll remember?

"Um... Dream?" Of course he's calling in reinforcements. I swear he can't do anything alone.

"It was from a dog monster outside a bar in a classic copy. Sometime around five or six centuries ago?" Wow, not even from someone in my au. Wait, dog monster, outside a bar.

"You mean the drunken pervert who had the gall to literally flirt with death after his drinking buddy died? Seriously?" They seriously took a drunk's word about someone that they saw once?

"Well yeah, he told us that you told him that he'll turn to dust if he touches you." Oh stars, Ink's idiocracy is rubbing off on him.

"I'm pretty sure I threatened to turn him to dust after he called my robe a dress and moved to take it off. Should have gone with the extra paperwork instead." I mumbled that last bit to myself.

"Well, how else were you supposed to turn him to dust without a death touch, huh?" You would think the creator of all people would know this, but that just goes to show how terrible his memory and "common" sense is.

"Maybe, I don't know, with this?" I quickly reached into my inventory and pulled out my scythe for the first time today. "You know, an actual, physical weapon that is essential to my job and with enough reach to make a drunkard back up." It looks like he finally believes me now that the obvious facts are out. I put away the scythe and got ready to portal. "Now that that's all cleared up, I'm going to go and cuddle my boyfriend after healing all these injuries you inflicted on him while he made sure you didn't accidentally kill each other. I would say my job here is done, but I didn't actually do anything. Toodles."

And with that, I portaled to my lovely boyfriend in his antivoid.
