Chapter 14

Trigger Warning: Lime? Idk they kiss and stuff

Ben

I got a bright and early start the next day. As much as I wanted to sleep in and... eat... I had to finish my deck before the interview lady came over. I got an email late last night telling me that she wanted to meet up with me and look at some of my current work a.k.a. my house. The one that is still very unfinished. I needed to finish the deck, clean up the backyard that Ziggy made sure to destroy, and tidy up the inside of my house which still had at least fifty boxes full of random crap I'll never use. I'm not a packrat, I swear.

I started work on the deck at 5:00 (in the morning of course). I really didn't have THAT much to do. I only had to lay down the rest of the wood, half of that was already done though; the wood needed to be stained a dark grey to match the color pallet I chose for the main house. Then, the easy bit, was just adding the railing and stairs, which really shouldn't take too long.

Then there was the backyard and the inside of my house, which also shouldn't take too long. It's finish-able within the three days I had, that is, if everything went to plan. Which it should. Hopefully. With a coffee in hand and bunch of oak wood planks (Minecraft flashbacks) I started on my deck.

I got a small speaker set up to play some music and by around noon I had laid down the planks in half of the area I needed to and still had at least half of my music playlist left to listen to. As much as I wanted to keep working and eat when I was completely done with the deck, I was much too hungry to last that long. I picked up my phone and immediately felt horrible.

Devin <3- Hello

Devin <3- you up?

Ben- Are you still making those sandwiches?

Devin <3- Yep! Turkey or ham?

Ben- I'll have turkey with mayo mustard and pickles please

Devin <3- if your done working we could eat together

Ben- that'd be great!

Devin <3- I'll go over to ur house and see what ur working on

Ben- ok

Ben- I'll supply the cookies ;)

Devin <3- ahh I see you are a man of culture as well

Ben- Its not a picnic without the cookies

I smiled and started towards my door to grab the plastic container in my kitchen that held some gingerbread cookies I made a while ago. I decorated them so bad it looked like a little kid made them, so if Devin asks, I'm going to say they were from my little cousins. We would just skip over the fact that my little cousins could decorate cookies better than I ever could.

I went back outside and cleared a space on the ground, but then after realizing it would be more comfortable to just eat somewhere else, I moved everything back and went to the upstairs balcony. I set up two chairs and bopped to the music currently playing down below.

"The passion, the passion, my big FAT HEART EXPANDS!" I sang.

"Ben?" I promptly stopped singing. There was a click and the back gate swung open.

"Hey--" I started, suddenly I remembered the chorus of the song. I sprinted back inside and darted over to the speaker, but I was too late.

'Two trucks having sex, two trucks ha--'

I slammed my hand on the button to turn off the speaker, hoping that Devin couldn't hear it, but he was already laughing his butt off; his blonde curls bouncing around on his head.

"Nice!" He laughed, setting a small picnic basket down that probably held our sandwiches. "Truck porn! Love it; rule 34, you know!" (Look up rule 34 please its funny, but don't click on 'images')

Comment Kio might tell you if their cool –->

"It's not like that." I blushed, shoving my phone into my pocket.

"I know, but I'm choosing not to believe you." He smiled, standing on his toes to peck my lips. I could feel myself go red as he pulled back, our eyes locking for a second. "So, what have you been working on?" Devin jumped back as I stayed, still as a statue. It's not the first time we kissed, so why am I so weird about it? And how is he so calm!?

"Uh," I finally took a step forwards to the deck, that rested only about two feet or so above the ground, so I don't know if it qualifies as a 'deck' or not. "I was trying to... finish my deck since it's been unfinished for so long." Without any stairs or step stools, I stepped up onto the finished bit of the deck, arbitrarily trying to show off a bit for Devin, even though we were alone. I promptly turned around to help Devin up.

"It looks great!" Devin grabbed my hand and stepped up as I pulled on his arm to bring him up. With a yelp and a tug, he was up on the deck, gripping my hand and my opposite arm. "N-Nice and sturdy." He said awkwardly, standing up all red and flustered, making sure to let go of my arms.

"I figured we could go and have lunch on the... upstairs patio." I tried to keep my voice as level and smooth as possible, but I don't think it's working.

"Yeah, sounds great!" He smiled, immediately recovering from his epic fumble a minute ago. He jumped back down on the ground and grabbed our sandwiches, choosing to calmly climb up on the deck on knees rather than getting flung wildly on his feet. I helped him up onto his feet anyway and led him inside where Ziggy immediately pounced on him like they've never met before.

"Ziggy!" I scolded, even though Devin was already trying to play with him. "You know Devin, don't be mean." He immediately started going for the bag that held our sandwiches. (Me realizing that this sentence could work for Ziggy or Devin, no questions asked, but still not changing it)

"No, silly!" Devin cooed in a sweet, high pitched voice that made me fall for him even more than I already was. "That's for me and Benny." Devin petted his head wildly, while also pushing his snout away from the sandwich bag.

"Please no!" I whined. There was no way Devin would be calling me 'Benny'.

"Oh, you don't like that?" Devin asked, standing up with a sly smile on his face which made him look unbelievably cute. "Then I won't call you that anymore... Benny."

"Ugh!" I threw my head back, laughing a little bit in the process. "I never should've told you that." I smiled, letting my head be level again, with Devin's lightly blushed face in front of mine. My hand gently held his, gently caressing his cheek. My head moved down to meet his, about to press my lips against his when:

"Let's go and eat lunch; I'm hungry." He pulled away quickly, with a smile on his face as he walked over to the foot of the stairs. "Come on." He knew what he was doing. Leaving me hanging on a sweet kiss like that? Such a tease. I smiled at that and followed Devin up the stairs. I swear, Devin was going to be the death of me.

Devin

"Thanks for making me lunch, bug." Ben said, picking out a cookie that was decorated to be a snowflake as my heart did a little jump. He called me bug! I felt myself go red a grabbed a cookie from the box.

"Of course! I'm glad to do it." I pulled out a gingerbread man that looked strangely familiar. "This one is... interesting" It had yellow 'hair' with a red middle and silver bottom; there were two chocolate chips for eyes and a smile.

"Uh, I'm not good at decorating." Ben promptly looked away.

"I'm not... talking about that." I held up the cookie next to my face. "Does this look like anyone you know?" I asked, already knowing the answer.

"Uh, no?" His face was all contorted and red; he was caught.

"Oh really? Cause I think it looks a bit like me." I gave him a smirk as I watched his reaction.

"It was an accident! There are only so many sprinkle colors!" He defended, stuffing a bit more of his cookie into his mouth.

"Sure..." I placed my cookie back into the box. "Well, I'm not going to eat him; that's cannibalism." Ben laughed at that, while also trying to drink his sprite and causing a low-pitched whistle to emit from the bottle.

"I can't breathe!" He wheezed, laughing way too hard.

"What's so funny?" I laughed along with him for no particular reason other than his laugh was cute and contagious.

"I have no idea." He replied, finally calming down. Once we were quiet, I didn't really know what to do.

"So, uh, how was your day so far?" Ben asked, reaching over for my hand.

"It was good. I'm going to be honest I watched Friends in bed for most of the time." I laughed as Ben gently squeezed my hand.

"What episode did you get to?"

"Episode 21, I think. I finished The One Where Old Yeller Dies, so whichever one is after that."

"Oh ok, so you're almost done with season 2? You're going fast, jeez. It took me like a month to get where you are." Ben replied, desperately trying to put his arm around me. "Can we ditch the chairs? I can't like—"

"Yes, please." I joked, standing up and grabbing our trash as Ben picked up his box of gingerbreads. I speeded down the stairs and tossed the paper bag and napkins in the trash before I leaped over the back of the couch. I had only just rolled over on my back when I saw Ben right before he pounced on top of me.

"Can't get away now, can you?" He asked with a smirk, still laying on top of me. He leaned down and pressed small kisses all over my face, smiling into every peck. I wiggled my arms out from under him and immediately let my hands get lost in his hair. I smiled and pulled his head around where our lips could connect head on. Ben moved his legs a bit so I was completely pinned underneath him. He slowly pulled away, leaving me looking at his soft tan lips. His eyes stayed fixed on my own as my eyelashes barely brushed up against his. I lifted my head up, in an attempt to pull Ben into another kiss but he quickly pulled back.

"I'm going to go grab our drinks." Ben quickly got up off the couch.

"Wait--!" I sat up but he quickly cut me off.

"Its annoying when people tease you, isn't it?" He asked, with a sly smile sitting on his handsome face. I said nothing in return and leaned back on the couch.

I don't know where to end this so I'm choosing to end it here.

This chapter was supposed to be a LOT longer, but imma just make that the next chapter, it would make more sense anyway. There's not much I gotta say about this chapter. OH WAIT I REMEMBER. I didn't end the chapter to skip over a supposed sex scene. (not that I'm going to write one) You would know when they were going to have sex, and this is not one of those times.

Love y'all!
