/Chapter One/
She sat down on the chair, a book held in her hand as she turned the pages, her lashes fluttering as Juliet fought the urge to sleep, "why aren't you in bed?" she looked up into her lover's eyes.
"I need to finish--book." he chuckled lowly, next to her in an instant to take the book from her.
"I believe you need to sleep, cara mia." she huffed, leaning back in the chair.
"Y'know that I hate it when you speak Italian to me."
"Juliet, you only hate it because it makes you weak in the knees," Aro leaned closer, their faces an inch away, "cara mia." Juliet's eyes fluttered as she leaned closer and kissed him. Aro's hand cupped her face, pulling her out of the chair and onto her feet. Juliet pulled him closer, her hands running through his raven hair. The hand on her face went to cup her neck, the other around her waist. She gasped, tugging at the silky strands of hair.
"This," his hand slid from her face to cup her neck, kissing her cheekbone and then her jaw, "is no fair, Aro."
"Yes," he pulled away, a grin tugging at his lips, "naturally, life is not fair. Now, off you go to sleep, my beloved." Juliet groaned, shaking her head as she walked in the direction of her quarters. She opened the door, closing it and locking it behind her, as she went to sit on the freshly-made bed.
"I wonder what she's up to." Juliet slips off her earrings, pulling at her layers until she's wearing a silk pajama top and a pair of panties. She folds her hands and leans her chin against them, her eyes downcast to the floor.
"Where are you going?" Juliet sighs, hugging her younger friend.
"I'm going to Italy. Kinda like a fun little trip." she was lying, not about the location, but why. It wasn't a friendly visit.
"Oh, well, have fun. Be careful, I guess." Bella frowned, and Juliet noticed it; Bella didn't notice she did. The two parted ways, Juliet to Italy and Bella back to Forks, Washington. Juliet on a plane, Bella in her pickup truck.
"Beloved?" Juliet looked up, shaking her head to clear her thoughts as she blinked. Aro was at the door, leaning against the door frame with a smile tugging at his lips.
"Yes?" she flushed when she realized she had zoned out, chuckling awkwardly.
"My dear," Aro strode in, eventually standing in front of her, "you were zoning out again, weren't you?" he held her face in his hands, his head tilted.
"Y-Yeah," Juliet yawned, "I am going to bed, though." Juliet's smile was crooked as she flopped on the mattress, her back to the air as she wrapped her arms around a close-by pillow.
"I am sure you were," Aro sat down on a space on the bed, "may I see your hand?" she murmured something and held out one of her hands for him to take. Aro took it in both hands as he closed his eyes, looking and digging through her thoughts until he put her hand back on the bed.
"I miss her," Juliet confessed as she sat up, looking at her lover worriedly, "what if something happens to her? What if she gets hurt? I won't be there with her." she moved closer to him, leaning her head against his lap, looking up into his red eyes. Aro smiled down at her, his eyes crinkling as his dark hair fell down his shoulders.
"Darling, listen to me," Aro spoke softly in his lovely tone, his hands running through Juliet's hair, "I'm sure she will be fine. She has all those big scary Cullen vampires around her. As well as, Edward doesn't let his eyes off her."
"Aro, when are you going to turn me?" he eyes her, a soft smile coming to his lips as he ran a thumb along her bottom lip.
"Didn't you ask me that question yesterday?" Juliet leaned up, a huff escaping her lips as she cupped Aro's face, pressing a small kiss to his nose.
"I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I may be young, but I know this much," Aro sighed, "now you have that look on your face. I've disappointed you," his eyebrows furrowed as he shook his head.
"Sit up, cara mia," Juliet sits up quickly, turning her body to face him as her eyes look at her lap, "darling, I understand that you want to spend eternity with me, but at least wait, please," his face was contorted into a look he never had, "I just don't want you to regret it, my love. You're still a lively young woman," his hand went to caress her face.
"All I know is that you're the one I want," Juliet looks into his eyes, "I'm lively and young, but what happens when I'm not? I want to share everything with you. You were my first kiss, my first time," she begins to tear up, "I want you to be my first everything, for eternity," a tear slips down her cheek, Aro's thumb catching it before it could fall down her face. It was quiet for a second, her eyes looking at his face for any changes in his features, something to detect.
Aro let out a breath, "alright," he looked at her sadly, "first, I want you to go see your friend Bella if this is what you really want. Stay there for a few weeks, and then come back to me. If you still want me to change you, then we can do that, but not a day before then," Juliet smiles as he agrees, a giggle of glee leaving her lips, "I'm warning you, it will hurt, which is why I am going to try to make it as painless as possible, my sweet,"
"I trust you, Aro," Juliet leaned in, kissing him, "do you think I'll be a good vampire?" he chuckled as she pulled her closer to him.
"Of course, my love. Alright, it's time for you to tuck in for the night. I know you have been wanting to yawn," Juliet shook her head to disagree but yawned instead. She sighed as she moved to climb under the sheets of her bed, "goodnight, cara mia,"
"Goodnight, Aro," Juliet allowed herself to shut her eyes, soon peacefully asleep as she dreamed of her future.
