Criticize Me part 2

Again, don't hold anything back.

Chapter 2

The female was indeed correct. The darkness hung in the air like a thick dust. Small flecks of light could be seen dancing around in the oppressing darkness.
The light glowing from the cloth covering each one's mouth kept the dust back in a perfect half sphere. The warm glowing of the tall man's mask was barely visible through the dark, but Cole pressed forward. Not saying he had much control over the whole situation.
The girl shoved him roughly, not giving him any time to turn and try to fight her.
Suddenly, a low, and yet at the same time, piercing whistle filled the closet. The sound gave Cole a headache, and he stopped to press his fingers to his temple.
The girl shoved him roughly to get him to continue. She moved her face close to his ears and whispered harshly.
"Don't stop moving."
Her breath sent a chill down Cole's spine and he rushed forward. He had moved to fast, and his foot caught on the lip of a step up. Soon, he had crashed into the back of Nixxon, the tall man. He stopped and turned, the only thing visible being his mask.
"It's okay, just careful, we're beginning The Stairs." He turned back and continued on his way.
Cole, deeply confused as to how he was expected to climb stairs in the pitch black -yet too afraid to stop moving- lifted his foot higher than normal and placed it somewhere in front of him. Deciding the surface was safe, he brought his other foot to join it's partner. The cold hand then pressed itself against Cole's neck urged him forward at a faster pace. The girl was creepy, and he had decided he didn't want to be trapped in this suffocating darkness with her.
-----------------------------------
After what seemed like several hours of climbing stairs, Cole finally left the darkness. It slipped off his form like a thick ooze, retreating away from the sharp sunlight. As soon as he felt the soft soil beneath his shoes, he collapsed, tearing off the stuffy handkerchief and breathed deeply.
The light was blinding, so he closed his eyes and allowed the cool and relaxing grass soothe his aching leg muscles. A shadow fell over his face, and he opened his eyes to see the 2 people who had kidnapped him standing over him.
They were much easier to see in this light. The boy, Nixxon, was wearing all brown. A brown shirt, brown cotton pants, and lacked shoes. Cole was startled to find his skin was slightly transparent, and all of his veins were a deep green.
The girl wore a simple navy blue tunic and had a satchel slung over her shoulder. She glowered at him and snatched the mask from the grass beside him.
"You're pathetic." She hissed, pulling him to his feet. Now standing, Cole found she was quiet short, barely reaching his chin. His cheeks flushed with color, ashamed he had been so scared of her.
She waved her hand over his mouth and muttered something under her breath.
"Now talk." She demanded. "What's your name?"
Cole opened his mouth and whispered, thinking his throat would explode in pain and forbid him to talk. "Why should I tell you?"
He was delighted to find it didn't, and he tried again, louder this time.
"I'm not going to tell you."
The tall man smiled warmly. "Of course you are not, it's all about trust!" He held out his hand for Cole to shake. "My name is Nixxon."
Cole avoided his hand. "That doesn't fix the fact you just kidnapped me."
The girl rolled his eyes. "Don't be dramatic, we didn't kidnap you." She retorted, folding her arms across her chest.
"Then what exactly did you do?!" Cole snapped back, getting annoyed and frightened by the odd happenings.
"Simply brought you back to where you belong." She replied calmly, studying him. "You are Cole Anderson, are you not?"
The named person glared at her. He had never been a good liar, but he hoped this time, he could pull it off. "Nope, wrong guy." He answered.
The girl grunted. "You're a worse liar than Nixxon here. For what it's worth, my name is Aspin."
Cole did not believe this girl at all. He glanced back the way he had come. She had to have lied. The darkness can't literally suffocate him. In a brief second, he decided to take his chances.
Cole made a break for the tunnel. The moment he lunged his legs screamed out in protest, but he continued. He could hear Aspin shout out a curse, but he couldn't tell if she had given chase, as he tumbled into the dark tunnel.

I may continue this, I may not. Depends on how all of you react. Please just tell me what I need to fix, and I'll jump on it, promise.
