Chapter 3

Kokoro walked out of Salon, her head feeling lighter after getting her hair cut. Since it was long enough she had ended up donating most of it so now the ends barely brushed her shoulders.

Walking around downtown was strange. She expected someone to recognize her off the streets and cause a commotion but nobody made a sound. Everyone just walked past her without a second glance. She was just a face in the crowd like everyone else. Guess she had the closed trial to thank for that. There had been no media allowed, and no pictures of her were ever posted online— not even reporters or gossip blogs knew her real identity, the only thing they knew was that the feared villain who had been roaming the streets was finally brought down. Kokoro didn't even know if her coworkers other than her director had found out. To them she probably just vanished for two years without notice. She smiled internally as she kept walking along the street.

By the end of the day she had spent a half of her savings but managed to get new furniture her home as well as get some food and a new wardrobe. Most of her furniture would be coming within the next week so as of now her house was mostly empty.

After putting away the food she bought she went to what had been her master bedroom and folded and placed her new clothes in the closet. She'd have to buy hangers tomorrow.

Once she was finished with putting away her clothes Kokoro sat on the ground, leaning back against the wall as she went through her stuff. Her phone must of been charged before it was handed back to her since it was completely charged. Her house keys— which had luckily still worked, her motorcycle keys— yeah she could definitely scrap those, she wasn't going to be getting her old motorcycle back. She moved onto her IDs next. She didn't know if they would be flagged if she used them, she assumed that since she was officially released they wouldn't be, at least that was her hope.

Next she moved onto her motorcycle license. Looking at all the information she was relived to see it was still three years until it expired, after all, she had gotten it a few months before she was locked up. She'd have to get new gear for her motorcycle and a new motorcycle. After that was her regular license. As much as she would of wanted to she can't ride her motorcycle year long. The last ID was one she didn't have before being locked up. I was a temporary access card to U.A, which meant she would be able to enter the school without the security system going off.

"Well that's useful." Kokoro muttered.

Suddenly, her phone started ringing, causing Kokoro to jump. She fumbled with it before she pressed the answer button, greeting whoever was on the other side of the line.

"Kowareta Kokoro speaking."

"Miss Kowareta! Glad you responded! I'm just checking in on you!" Nezu's voice exclaimed from the other side.

"I expected as much. Not a lot of people would contact me at the moment."

There was a laugh on the other side of the line before Nezu responded. "I'd like to meet tomorrow morning, 8:30. I'll send a driver to come get you at 7:30! Please be ready!" Then he hung up before giving Kokoro a chance to respond.

"Well, looks like I'm getting up early tomorrow." She sighed, checking the time on her phone. 9:45 "Might as well head to bed— or head to sleep now. I don't really have a bed yet..."

She stood up from where she was and grabbed a blanket and pillow she had bought earlier that day. Sleeping on the wood floor wasn't as bad as some would think— hell it was ten times better thank the cold metal slab she was sleeping on in the prison. After making a few alarms, getting ready for bed, and getting comfortable Kokoro slowly started to drift off to sleep.

When Kokoro finally woke up the next morning to her fifth alarm, she looked around in confusion before the events of the day before hit her. She was free, it wasn't a dream. Nezu had really come to release her from her life sentence and she was really a free woman.

She opened her phone and looked at the time, 7:10. The driver would be coming to get her soon. She needed to get ready.

She got changed into a pale lilac dress with a blue cardigan draped over it. Instinctively she moved her hands up to put her hair into a bun before realizing her hair was much to short for that style. It seemed that even after two years she had easily fallen back into her usual routine.

She looked at her appearance in the mirror. Once she decided she looked fine, she headed to the kitchen to het a quick breakfast before the driver arrived. Which reminded her, she needed to get a new motorcycle. Having a driver was nice but she sure as hell wasn't going to depend on Nezu to help her get places.

It was soon time for the driver to be there, and just like Nezu said there was a knock on her door at exactly 7:30, and she was headed to U.A.

The meeting today was short. She had gotten her picture taken for her School ID and received it a few minutes later. She also got some information of the curriculum she would be teaching and what she needed to cover before the end of the school year.

After the meeting, Kokoro requested to be driven to a vehicle dealership, and spent the next few hours looking at motorcycles until discovering one that that suited all of her needs. She purchased it right there— along with some gear she would need in order to drive it home.

Her life was finally starting to get back to normal.
