It was almost as if I hadn't even gone to bed, because before I knew it we were already at the airport.

I grabbed my cell phone,

I put away my phone.

"Aren't you excited Layla? In under a day we are gonna be relaxing by the pool, or the beach"

"Yep!!! You gonna miss Luke your boyyyyfriendd?!?"

"Layla! Listen Luke ISN'T my boy friend", Inside this made my heart flutter, and I secretly loved when people asked about us being a couple..

It wouldn't happen though.

We walked up to the line of people to get our passports stamped.

"Hello how is your morning going" ,
A man in a broad blue uniform looked down at us.

"Great!! I mean, getting away from the cold to a beautiful state... Dream come TRUE! You??" My mom exclaimed happily. She was always very excited, exuberant and over the top.
"Same as always." He replied sternly.

The man took all of my family's passports to stamp them and I watched as he stamped mine. My passport had a bunch of pages already stamped, our family enjoyed travelling. He used the red inked stamp to print the date into my ticket and the place I was going.

We walked over to the window to see the cloudy grey ombré sky, a light innocent white cloud, getting a shade darker each bit over until finally ending with a black striking angry looking cloud.

"It's snowing pretty hard out there", dad was worried and you could tell.

"Let's just hope the flight doesn't get cancelled, I want sunny weather as soon as possible".

Finally we were all ready to be boarded, and we walked a long 20 minutes across the gigantic airport. It was huge, with long hallways and tight crowds of busy stressed families. Probably because of the storm.

Attention Air Canada flight number 207, we are now checking weather cautions for your flight to Fort Myers Florida.

We all dropped our backs and sighed. This couldn't be happening. The perfectly planned vacation now had a chance to be cancelled. We were all over tired, and anxious: we needed to sit down. We settled with 3 seats, the most we could find all together

5 minutes later the same voice came on to the speakers.

Attention, we now have severe weather warnings for all flights. Please stay tuned.

"Oh Hun, I'm worried now." My mom had a sad look as she spoke to my father.

Perfect vacation= not a reality.
