"So um.....I am the mystery girl"

Continuation

Their reaction is totally not what I was expecting. They looked kind of surprised but not as surprised as I thought they would be. They stand up.
"We had our suspicions.....we just didn't they'd be dead on!" Sarah says and comes to give me a hug.
Kate looks at me slyly. "I really can't believe you would hide this from us for so long." She says and gets up to hug me as well. I stand there with my eyes wide and look at Cody.
They knew?? I ask with my eyes. He just grins and shrugs as if to say I mean, they are your best friends...
I finally gain my senses back and hug them back. "Wait, so you guys already knew and never even told me?!" I say, untangling myself.
"We weren't sure! And it's not like you told us either." They say accusingly.
I look down. "Yeah....sorry about that...I just...I'm not even sure why I didn't tell you guys.. I just never told anyone I could sing and at first I was just insecure and scared and- " I'm cut off by Cody clearing his throat.

"What am I? The wall?" He says raising his eyebrows. Sarah and Kate notice him for what seems the first time.

"Wait, why aren't you even the least bit surprised Cody?" Kate asks with her hands on her hips. His eyes go wide and he scratches his neck the way he does when he's nervous.
"Um, I already knew?" he says uncertainly. They all stare at me, with Sarah and Kate more like glaring.

"Well........." I begin, "He sorta caught me singing on my own because the window to my room was open and he being the idiot he is, was trying to get in climbing the tree, so he said I should sing though I didn't want to, but he opened up a channel for me and played his guitar, which he plays very good by the way, and we started recording every Friday, I used to- " I'm cut off again though this time with Cody's hand on my mouth.
I turn to look at him and he looks amused.
"You were rambling" he says trying to suppress his grin.
I give him an 'oops?'  look and shrug.

Sarah and Kate give both of us a sly smile.
"Did something happen between you two?

I look at Cody. He removes his hand from my mouth. He's suppressing a smile. Again. That a- ahem.
"We kinda.....got..together?" I say, more like question actually.
Suddenly all I can hear are squeals. Sarah and Kate are jumping up and down like lunatics screaming something about how Cova has sailed?
Cody stands there blushing. I look around curiously.
"Could someone please tell me what the heck is going on here?" I say raising my hand.

"Those two knew I liked you from the beginning..." Cody says to me looking at those two like they'd come back after defeating the Minotaur.
"Did you kiss? Did you kiss? Did you kiss? Ahhhh" Kate asks unable to keep her excitement contained. She looked like she'd seen a flat 50% off discount in her favorite store. I smiled because I always loved this side of her. When she wasn't playing her video games she was going on and on about how we should always be fashionable. She took us shopping no matter how much Sarah groaned. I on the other hand sort of just went along with it.

In response I turn to Cody and kiss him.
He's shocked at first but comes closer. I smile into the kiss and after what seems like hours, though probably it was just 2 seconds I break off.
"Was that enough for you?" I ask the two of them. This two looked at us with wide eyes.

"I'm so glad for you guys!" Sarah says crushing us in a hug. The close contact between me and Cody causes me to blush.
"I want in on this too!" Kate says wrapping her hands around us. Soon we all start moving too much which causes heads to bump into each other, a lot of groaning and eventually breaking apart.

"Since we're all on the topic of confessions and stuff..." Sarah begins, "I just wanted to tell you guys.......that um....I'm kinda um.....bisexual...."
We all don't say anything and Sarah looks like she want to throw up. Suddenly we all jump at her on at once.
"We're so proud of you Sarah!!"
"Congratulations ahhh!!"
"Im telling you...the coolest people are bisexual!"
"Ahh I can't believe it this is so awesome!"
We all keep saying stuff like that when we suddenly here a sniffle.
"I love you guys so much" Sarah says. "This means a lot....."
"What did you think we were gonna do if we found out? Eat you alive? Of course not! You're our best friend Sar. We love you for who you are and this is a part of you." I say genuinely.
She gives us a watery smile.

Trust Kate to break the moment. "Enough of this sappiness now. We're gonna have some fun"
It's funny how quick her emotions change...I blame teenage hormones.

We end up just lying around joking, occasionally flicking through the channels on the TV. I end up on a news channel and I'm about to change it when the heading catches catches my eye. A reporter was talking about my channel.

"This YouTube channel 'Singing my Way' has been growing ever since the first video came out. The girl behind this channel has never once revealed something about herself to her audience but has an astonishingly huge fan base.
Not to mention she's been spreading positivity and awareness.
Her latest cover hit 'What a girl is' has been blowing up all over the world and the messages she says at the end definitely tell us she means business. Those who are against her have been shot down with quick witted responses from the mystery girl herself. She is not one to be messed with.
Who is this girl? Where has she come from? Will we ever find out? I guess only time will tell. Stay tuned everyone!"

My mouth is wide open by the time he stops speaking. I look at Cody and he's smiling at me with nothing but adoration. I go to him and hug him tightly.
"I can't believe it" I whisper to him, "Your plan actually worked Cody...it actually worked."
He holds me tighter and I feel him smiling. I know the other two are staring at us and are trying hard not to squeal for my sake.
We stay like that for a while. The other two say they're proud of me and we lay there in silence. Not needing words to communicate. Our presence comforting each other.

This had definitely been one hell of a day.

~Timeskip to 1 year later~

I swat Cody's arm. "that's mine!" I say pointing to the phone in his hand.
"I know! I know!" And kisses the corner of my mouth, teasing me.
I pout. "That's not nice" I say.
"Whoever said I'm nice Avabear?" He says smirking and still doing something on my phone.
I narrow my eyes at him. He knows I hate that nickname. I look over to try to see what he was doing. He hides the phone.
"You are so annoying you know that?" I ask him. He hums in response.
I look across the table.
Justin and Kate had finally started going out after many months of pointing, blushing and obliviousness. Justin had his arm around Kate's waist and both of them were smirking at me.
Remind me why I got them together again?

I finally give up and put my head on Cody's shoulder. We loved each other and that's what matters. No matter how much of an ass he can be sometimes. Don't get me wrong. We have fights and many times it seemed too much. But thankfully things have a way of working themselves out in the end.
I look at Sarah who was trying to secretly stare at the new girl Gabriella in our class but I must say, she was failing miserably.

"Ooh someone's got a crush on the new black clown" someone says while passing our table putting emphasis on black. I look sideways to see Mark.
I glare at him. I'd gained quite the reputation at school for fighting against the bullies, racists, sexists, homophobes and many more.
With time, Mark had finally stopped trying to pull me down after realizing it never had any effect on me.
He waves his hand nonchalantly to acknowledge his mistake but goes away anyway. Sarah was still glaring at him like she wanted to chuck of his head though.

"Aaand...done! Cody says, looking at me and giving a radiant smile.
"I finally completed the editing for that music video!"
I hug him "thank you thank you thank you! I love you so much!" I say happily.
He laughs, "I love you too" He says then kissing me properly this time.
"STOP! MY EYES!" Kate says covering her eyes dramatically.
"Like you guys are any better" I say scoffing.

I look at my phone.
I had finally finished my self composed song and recorded it. With my video this time.
I never ended up doing a face reveal that day. I realized that the longer people didn't know who I was, the longer did the mystery behind me remain.
Now, 2 whole years have passed since I opened the channel and I think it's finally time for me to show them the face behind the voice.

So many haters have become supporters, though new ones appear each day....but surprisingly, I find that okay. Everyone has their own opinion and changing each and everyone is difficult. Knowing I get to change so many people everyday and help bring some positivity makes me proud of my achievements.

I go to YouTube and add the title and description for the video. I look at Cody. Then at Sarah and Kate. They give me an encouraging nod and smile. Cody ruffles up my short hair that I had recently highlighted with blue. I playfully glare at him, and he chuckles.
I take a deep breath.

Bringing a change in this messed up world has always been a dream for me.
Now, this is my Reality, and I click upload.

Ahhh I can't believe it's over!! And here come my box of tissues... *sniffle*

I'm not really sure if many people are gonna reach the end cause some parts of this story just suck... or if this story is gonna get reads at all but eh.. a girl can hope can't she?

Anywaysss... *hides sniffle*
So currently the status is gonna say complete but I assure you there's gonna be an epilogue or something so don't remove it from ur library just yet! :D
Also, i know this book is in dire need of editing which I shall begin as soon as I find the time. So patience is a virtue my friends...
