My brain captured the moment

as I stood electrified in uncertainty

as my heart sunk to my stomach

as I let you leave my side

without a second glance and                                                           I

won't mention my heart that is bruised and numb

from all it's been through

from everything it will never experience

from the doubt in my veins

because I was stupid enough to let you go and I                    am

going to smile although it is evidently a mirage

is it really even there

is it a figment of my twisted mind

is it a broken truth or a lie

am i smiling for you or for me and                                                so

now my world is drowning in self sorrow

it won't stay afloat

it is slowly going away

it is nothing without you

and that makes me feel                                                                  sorry.
