I saw you and I knew that everything would change.

I remember talking to you, you thought that I was strange.

I said, 'My heart is frozen solid in a block,

It won't melt, not even with the hands of a ticking clock.'

You told me that my heart couldn't be frozen, and that I seemed really nice.

I walked away, came back with a hammer and said, 'Here, break the ice.'

It took a while, but the ice slowly chipped away,

It was as if the sun slowly came out on a cloudy day.

I got to know you, you got to know me.

My heart felt like it was slowly being set free.

I was happy whenever I was with you,

I did whatever you told me to do.

You chipped away at the ice until it was gone.

Both of us were happy, but not for long.

You never put down the hammer, you kept beating at my heart.

My heart became bruised and battered, you and I fell apart.

I'm sitting here, wishing that you never even tried,

I realize now that you never did what you implied.

I want to go back and freeze my heart,

So that no one besides you will ever be able to tear it apart.

And this is why I no longer trust,

Instead of falling in love, we fell in lust.

You corrupted every single thought in my head,

And you left my heart hanging by a thread.
