Reese Eastaughffe grew up with a silver spoon in her mouth. A silver spoon with a catch. She never wanted for anything except a real, emotional connection with someone that wasn't just her mother, and that was hardly an emotional connection at all.

According to her short-lived therapist, she needed a real connection with someone—and maybe some anger management, what with the rage she felt at her step-father who provided financially for her mother, but at the expense of their general happiness—which was why her mother decided to force her to tutor people for the SAT's, what with her being home with nothing to do while everyone was still at school.

That was how she met Scott Lang. After school, three times a week, he was meant to come over and get tutoring in preparation for the SAT, his father insisting that he keep trying to get a perfect score despite getting one of the top scores in his class that was more than enough to get him into a good school. Reese knew her mother probably paid Scott's father to send Scott over to her, but she didn't care, at least she had an excuse to avoid her step-father as much as possible.

It was that whirlwind of afternoons turned summer nights that the two spent getting to know each other, Reese finally finding herself a friend, and Scott finding himself his very first partner-in-crime. Their first gig: taking down Reese's corrupt step-father and getting justice for his employees.

Eighteen years later found Reese as the CEO of her own company, one of the powerhouses taking the world by storm, and Scott Lang simply a name she saw on the news and kept hidden deep within a part of her heart that she kept under lock and key, soaked in nostalgia, left in the past where she was sure he belonged.

Until she starts to suspect one of her business associates of doing the exact same thing her father did on a larger, more dangerous scale, and suddenly Scott Lang stops being a memory from her past and starts being a part of her present. And, hopefully, a fixture in her future.

So here we go! I never thought I'd wind up writing a Scott fic (I say that a lot, it seems, but it's true it took me three years to finally watch the first, just days before I watched the second) and I'm really excited about this, because I really love how family oriented the movies are, because I love for family dynamics and we need to stop sleeping on it when it's right there, feeding us so well.
