This is a topic that comes up quite frequently, people who dislike or hate Superman often say "he's boring, he's too overpowered, he's too nice." Now I do think Superman gets an unnecessary amount of hate, most of these arguments come from "I watched Man of Steel, DCEU Superman sucks" or "Screwattack's Goku vs Superman is the reason why."

The DCEU Superman should not be your first introduction to the character, that version of Superman is not like Superman from the source material. Some people were introduced to Superman by reading the Injustice comics and playing the game. That also shouldn't be your first introduction to the Man of Steel, that version is not accurate.

Superman has been a character that gets a lot of hate because people think: he's overpowered, he's boring, and he has no personality. All those reasons are mostly from people who have never picked up a single Superman comic in their lives, if you read the comics, Superman is a chilled/laid-back kind of guy.

Superman may be an alien, but at his very core, he is so much like a human. He would rather be seen like us rather than be treated like a god-like being. At the end of the day, Clark is still Martha and Jonathan Kent's little boy, he loves doing chores, he is awkward around girls he is also shy around them, he wants to fit in with society, and he doesn't see himself as some God, very human-like qualities. He loves being around his adoptive parents.

Superman doesn't save the world because it was his destiny, he does it because he wants to do it. Superman is a naturally good character, which people seem to hate. Nowadays people would rather have edgy characters who aren't even entertaining.

The whole overpowered argument is redundant because the same people love characters who are also overpowered, they even make OCs that are boundless, high 1A, 1A, low 1A, high 1B, etc. I can't even talk about Superman without some fanboy saying that their favorite character would whoop him even though I didn't even mention any vs debates. Yes Superman can be OP, but so are other characters in fiction, I don't understand why it's bad for him to be strong but okay for others.

The whole Superman didn't train for his abilities argument is also stupid, there are other characters who didn't train to gain their powers. People also seem to think that Clark is some mindless brute who just punches things, far from the truth. Clark has trained with Batman, Wonder Woman, Wildcat, Mongul, Wioska, etc. He is a strategic fighter, he learned Torquasm Rao and Torquasm Vo, he knows how to strike pressure points. Superman does know martial arts, he isn't some brute that just punches everything.

People getting mad at Superman because of Death Battle are just childish, so what Goku lost, get over it. The battle isn't even official, even if Superman lost I wouldn't be mad about it. At the end of the day people need to stop taking Death Battle so seriously. Some of my favorite characters lost and I just went on with my day. It is unfair to hate Superman because of Death Battle.

That's all I'm gonna say here, but I feel Superman deserves more respect. Hating the character for the same reasons you like another is just hypocritical.
