Up In Flames

I started up my discord for you guys! You can find the link for the invite on my conversations tab :D

Anti stared at the flicker that found its way onto the rug.

He could just watch as it started to grow and grow, burning on the rug like fuel.

'Shit! What do I do!?' he started to hyperventilate and he weakly made himself sit up, 'Dark, why'd you have to leave so fucking quick!?'

Anti tried desperately to fling himself off the bed but then suddenly realized something dire.

He didn't have a wheelchair here and it was fucking WINTER outside which meant it came down to either burning to death or freezing!

The fire grew larger and found its way to the wood floors, burning off of it instead of the rug, "Dammit!" Anti rolled himself over to try and pull open the window by the bed but it was frozen stiff and hard to move.

'Oh god, no not like this!' Even if he could break the glass, the window panes were too small to get through, 'Dark! Marvin! Somebody!'

The roaring flames were getting closer and closer and black smoke started to fill the cabin, making it harder and harder to breathe.

It felt like his lungs were burning from inhaling it but he had no choice.

'I don't have any other options' Anti didn't know how this started or why but the only thing on his mind was surviving.

Even if he didn't deserve to.

He flopped himself down on to the floor just inches away from the flames. He felt as if his hair would singe if he got any closer.

He rolled himself towards the door and started to crawl on the ground towards it. Every once in a while, he checked behind him to make sure his legs didn't catch on fire.

'It's just one thing after another!' Finally, Anti reached the door but soon realized he couldn't open it if he wanted to. The handle was too high and if he opened it now, the new air would cause the flames to burst out most likely frying him.

His only option, really was to glitch out but if he did THAT, then he was at risk to having another seizure.

He was scared.

What was he supposed to do?

Dark was out of ideas. He didn't know where else to turn.

He found himself in front of Host's door and knocked loudly, "Host! I know you probably saw me coming! Let me in! We need to talk"

A moments of silence dragged on before the strange man finally creaked open the door, "The Host asked Dark what he wanted, knowing full well already want he wanted but to him, it was a little slice of humor"

"I don't have time for jokes and you know that" Dark seethed, "You know why I'm here. Tell me who it is"

"The Host confesses he didn't know who this villain was. He urged Dark to try and look to Mark for answers"

The Host wen to shut the door only for Dark to stop him, shoving his foot in so it wouldn't close, "We both know Mark is a fool. He barely knows a damn thing about ANY of us and you know it!"

"The Host knew Darkiplier was angry but he tried to insist that there was nothing he could do. Nothing the Host could do. It pained him to say that he couldn't help his friend because this villain was of an otherworldly phenomenon who obviously had more power than anyone realized."

"What does that mean?"

"The Host sighed but tried to tell Dark that he was sure everything would work out. He just had to trust the story as it made its progress"

"Trust the story!?" Dark growled, "You and your fucking stories! Host! This is a matter of life or death! Don't you care?!"

"The Host breathed for a moment, taking in Darkiplier's anger and told him that of course he cared. If he didn't, he would have narrated him into a lot of unsavory things"

Dark snorted, "No, instead, you narrate other people you don't care for in your stupid stories to do whatever you want them to!"

". . . . They're not stupid"

Without a warning, Host shut the door in front of Dark, "The Host urged Dark to take his leave. There were matters unfolding that he'd want to be a part of."

Dark was confused by his words. What DID he know that he wasn't telling him? Did he really actually know and just refused to say anything because it'd just be a GOOD STORY!?

"After the Host told Darkiplier this, the Iplier ego walked away to take his leave back to the cabin where Anti was waiting for him"

'I guess I SHOULD go check on him. He might be hungry, too' he sighed and walked away from Host's door, "We're not done here!"

Host just chuckled as he walked back to his chair where the type-writer was waiting.

"We need to go get Anti back!" Chase spoke out.

It didn't matter what Sean said at this point.

This Anti wasn't that person he thought he was.

He had tried so hard for so long to put it all in the past and go through with his life and now Sean was trying to tear it all up in their faces!

"Wait, wait, wait" Jackie tried to ease the situation, "WHO said you couldn't say anything, Sean? Is something using you? Blackmailing you?"

Sean shook his head, "No . . . not exactly"

"Then vhat is it!?" even Henrik was losing his temper.

"I made a deal. There would be actual consequences if I told you who it was. I'm sorry, guys. I can't tell you. If you really want to know you'll just have to figure it out yourselves"

"I CAN read your mind, Sean" Marvin reminded him, "It wouldn't be that hard"

"Dare you" his creator scoffed, "The answer won't change anything. He'll just make all of you forget again."

"Again" Marvin thought for a moment, "This wasn't the first time, then. And I know something made me forget once before. When I saw that creature in the corner of the room that day-"

"That wasn't him" Sean pointed out, "That's all I can say, though. I'm sorry."

Chase glanced over to Evelien who looked just as frustrated as the rest of them but she knew she couldn't say anything about it. It wasn't her business, after all. They weren't her egos.

"Marv" Chase gestured to him, "Take us to the cabin"

Jackie nodded, "All of us . . .. right?"

"I can't go" Sean sighed.

"And we're not asking you to" Marvin bit his lip, "Just babysit Basil for me until we come back, yeah?"

Sean gulped and slowly nodded, "This isn't part of his plan. I may not know any of what he wants. . . . but you guys going to get Anti back . . . he's been pushing you all apart for a reason. Forcing those memories all back in your heads"

"We can take it" Jackie nodded, "We're stronger than we look, Sean" he winked, "Don't you trust us?"

"I for one don't give a shit if he trusts us or not" Chase huffed, "Let's end this already and go get him back. He needs to know all of this, too"

Marvin held out his hands, "Chase? Jackie?" they took one of his hands, "James? Henrik?"

Jameson was still a little out of it but took his hand anyway, 'It's still not really Anti's fault. We owe this to him to give him that'

Henrik nodded, "Tis all my fault from zhe start. If I hadn't poisoned Anti zhen none of this shite would have happened. I'm in, of course"

"It's not your fault, Hen" Chase addressed him, "Whatever this thing is, controls others to the extent that they might not even be aware of it! I remember that night, you muttered something. . . that it was an accident. . . ."

Henrik shared looks with them all. In his head, he knew they were right. He knew something had forced his hand that day.

That didn't excuse any of it though. Not to him.

'I should have been stronger'

He took Marvin's hand, 'I vill be stronger for him. I owe him zhis'

In the blink of an eye, Marvin teleported them, leaving the room empty except for Sean, Evelien and Basil.

'I hope they can fight it. . . . . I hope he doesn't go too far. . .. he promised he wouldn't . . . not that I can do anything about it. . . . Not even Mark could ever control him'

Just as Anti was losing hope, a blackness was starting to overcome his sight. It wasn't the smoke. . . something else. . . . enveloping him.

He was losing conscious.

Anti knew that if he did, then he'd most likely be consumed by the fires.

In those weak last moments, though, Anti didn't seem to care.

He couldn't bring himself to even move anymore.

'If everything is true . . . .' he thought to himself, 'Then this is the death I deserve.'

He remembered the cries . . . .. the shouts. . . . the tears.

He remembered it all within his nightmares but now thinking about it. . .. they were his memories. Everything that he did.

And for what?

There was no reason that he could think of that he remembered.

No reason why except . . .. for a sick thrill.

He felt so disgusted with himself.

That wasn't him, no it couldn't be.

He couldn't be that same man.

The person he was now . . . this person hated the sight of blood. Hated hearing children cry. Hated to be the villain.

The person he was now was the exact opposite except still a little bastard with his words, always so crude and annoyed.

That's who he was, right?

Not that monster. . . . .

He could still see those kids' faces, though. . . .. or whatever remained.

'This is what I deserve'

Just as he felt himself being consumed by darkness, he could just barely feel himself being touched.

It wasn't a creepy sort of touch though. More like . . someone trying to help?

He just barely felt himself being moved when he fell completely unconscious.

When Dark teleported back to the cabin, the last thing he expected to see what that it was on FUCKING FIRE.

"N-no. . . ANTI!" Dark ran to plunge himself in the flames for his friend until a hand stopped him.

Turning, he saw the Septic egos and Jackie's hand was on him.

Dark, thinking the worst, ripped Jackie's hand off of him, "WHAT DID YOU DO!? WHAT DID YOU BASTARDS DO!?"

Marvin looked just as terrified, though, "US!? We just got here! We didn't do anything!" Not wasting any more time, he cast a spell upon the cabin, making the snow float above it and disperse into water, putting out the flames immediately.

Dark rushed inside with the others right behind him on his tail.

"ANTI! Anti, where are you!?" Dark shouted, "Goddammit, answer me!"

They all searched the entirety of the small cabin only to admit defeat that they didn't know WHERE he was.

Chase, distraught, growled in frustration, "Where IS he?! He couldn't have gotten far without his wheelchair! We could split up and find him!"

"No" Dark and Marvin both spoke together.

Dark, hair a mess, sat on the tattered bed with a heavy sigh, "It's dangerous in the void by yourselves. Whatever happened to Anti . . . he wasn't eaten alive by the fires at least"

"That doesn't make it any better!" Jackie shouted, "We have NO idea where he is!"

"He could be hurt" Henrik brought up, "Chase is correct. He has to be close"

"In the void?" Dark asked, "He could be miles away. The void has no rules. For all we know, Anti could have willed himself to a different dimension in his panic. I'd need Wilford's help to get him then if that's the case"

'Great' Jameson signed, 'So where does that leave us? What can we do? We can't just give up already'

Dark watched as the cabin slowly put itself back together just as it did when he was first created in the cabin's flood, "Sorry but even I don't know all of the void's secrets."

Chase glared out the window. Right now his mind was a mess and he sort of wished he has his flask with him but he was on a mission and he had to stay sober for it.

He tried not to think about what Sean's words actually meant. That all those memories could actually all be true. That Anti really did kill his children and Henrik's. That he really did torture them all. But then spending all that time with him, getting to know him . . .. would have all been for nothing.

'Anti's been hurt by all of this, too. I just have to keep reminding myself of that'

Little did he know, he wasn't the only one with these thoughts. The other Septics were just as much in a bind as him.

Henrik, Jackie, Marvin and Jameson . . . . all of them had their grievances and grudges with Anti.

But right now, all of that was in the past.

'Squeak! Squeak-squea-Squeeeeeak!'

Everyone looked around suddenly at each other.

Confused.

The hell was that sound?

Dark nodded to the window behind him, "The glass . . .." he turned and leaned forward, mindful of the others coming closer, too.

"The hell is that?" Jackie asked, "Is it another fucking demon?!"

"No" Dark smiled slightly, "It's Celine . . . ."

"Oh"

Marvin read the message right next to the others and tilted his head to the side, confused, "What's . . . what's the library?"

And there the message read:

'The library. You know where to go.'
