when I was little about 7 maybe, we where at a ranch in Guerrero, Mexico. I was outside with some cousins at around 7ish our parents where outside as well, but they were doing their own thing while us kids from 7-10 yrs we're playing and telling scary stories. Never did my cousins mentioned la llorona because there was like 5 of us that were too young and we would get scared, so the older kids didn't want us crying and telling on them, in the middle of a scary story, we heard a bit of a whimper. At first we thought that someone from the grown ups had gotten a bit emotional since they were having grown up apple juice, and we thought nothing of it, until the whimpers started to get closer and we realized that the crying was coming from the opposite side of where the grown ups were. The older kids looked at each other and started to freak a bit but didn't move and tried to continue with the story, us the little ones had no idea what was going on and thought it was a joke. Then we all jumped at the sound of someone screaming right beside us, everyone looked to where it came from but from the looks of it no one saw it. The grown ups ran to us and told us to hurry and get inside, the older kids started rambling about "la llorona" and the parents looked at each other terrified. While my dad picked me up and carried me inside I looked back to where we were, once inside our parents asked if we saw anyone that maybe was hurt or needed help everyone shook their heads. My aunt asked me if I saw anyone there and I told her that there was lady right by the tree next to where we were sitting, I told them that she had a light blue dress that looked dirty and wet, she had scars on her face, arms, and legs and she had black hair that came to her shoulders. Everyone looked at me shocked, the older kids started to freak out even more and almost burst into tears yelling "that's her! that's la llorona!!" Some of the grown ups were asking the older kids if they ever mentioned la llorona to us the little ones, they said no because they didn't want to get in trouble. That night everyone that had come over spent the night and nobody slept at all.
