Chapter 7: old memories return…

Kari’s FLASH BACK

“HAHA!!! CAN’T CATCH ME YUK!!!” Kari ran as fast as she could to get away from Yuuki. Her ears and tails drifted with the wind as she ran faster and faster

“YOU’RE SO DEAD!!!! COME ‘ER!!!” Yuuki ran even faster to catch her best friend Kari and pound her head for calling her ‘Yuk’

“AH!!” Kari stumbled and fell and Yuuki caught up breath less

“I--I got you know…” she grabbed Kari and picked her up and gave her a piggy back ride

“WEEE!! HAHA!!” Kari laughed and laughed, Yuuki couldn’t help but laugh either. Soon Kari’s mom called out to the two girls

“KARIIIIIIII, YUUUUUUUUUUUKI!!!! It’s time to eat!!” the girls stopped and Kari challenged

“Race you to the dinner table!” Yuuki looked at her and replied

“YOUR ON!! The two raced they were neck and neck when—

YAHOO!! I WON” Kari leaped for joy! And Yuuki said

“Congrats!” and smiled at her best friend who was a year younger than she.

“Well, dig in!” said Kari’s mom, Kagrua Mizuno, and started for her fork when Kari asked

“Where is dad??” Kari looked concerned, her ears and tail’s flattened and Yuuki asked the same question

“Yea, where is Mr. Mizuno” Kagura froze and looked down and spoke not a single word…

“Mama?” Kari’s innocent voice pierced the silence and broke her mother’s heart. She cried and couldn’t stop…

“Mommy? Where is he… has he not come back from his journey?” her mother nodded and said

“He has not come back for months now…” Kari didn’t get upset instead she got up and comforted her mother… that and she KNEW her dad would come back she just knew it! Yuuki got up walked to Kari and whispered to Kari after a moment had passed

“May I see you after dinner? It is very important…” the two girls finished dinner, said their thanks and went outside

“What’s up Yuuki?” Kari asked in confusion

“I wanted to tell you…” Yuuki looked down sadly “I-I’ll be moving in two months… away from this little town…” Kari gasped and tears streamed down her face

“B-BUT YOU ARE THE ONLY FRIEND I HAVE!!!!” she cried and Yuuki looked down

“I-I know… if I could stay I swear I would… but I can’t stay my parents won’t let me…” Kari cried and hugged Yuuki getting tears all over her shirt

“P-PLEASE DON’T MOVE!!!! PLEASE!!! I’ll miss you!!!” Kari would NOT let loose her grip on her friend

“I know you will,” Yuuki looked down calmly and Kari let her friend breathe “that’s why I made us this,” she pulled out two lockets: one in the shape of a sun and the other looked like a crescent moon. Kari took the moon and Yuuki took the sun

“know,” Yuuki started again “when we see each other all we have to do is show the picture in side and we know that we are friends” Kari opened up her locket and looked at the picture inside it was her and Yuuki at small vine lake (I made that name up) soaking wet in their swim suite. She giggled as she looked at the picture

“Thank you Yuuki,” she murmured and hugged her. Just then they heard a loud roar in the distance

“DADDY!!!” Kari said as she bolted up in excitement and raced to the source of the noise Yuuki following

“DADDY!!! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! I MISSED YOU!! She hugged her father

“Hey kiddo I missed you!” he said as he hugged her back

After the hug fest Kari walked Yuuki home and said

“I will make sure to keep this locket with me all the time and cherish it always the same with our friendship,” Kari gripped the locket and gave a slit smile. Yuuki rubbed her head

“I know you will,” she smiles and goes inside

~End FLASH BACK~

“urg…” I woke up worn out in a room

“KARI!!!!!” Yuuki ran toward me and gave me a tremendous bear hug

“Are you ok what happened,” she looked at me concerned

“Yuuki…” I reached around my neck and took off a locket that she gave me when we were kids and showed her the picture inside it… she cried

“y-you remember…” she hugged me again but tighter this time

“GACK!!! Y-YUUKI E-ENOUGH I-I CANT BREATHE!!!!!!!!!!” I chocked as she hugged me tightly. Then she stopped and said

“I’m sorry… I was just happy you remembered… that it’s all…” I looked at her and smiled

“It’s ok. I would do the EXACT same thing… YUK!!!” I said as I got up and ran out the door… it took her a moment but soon she trailed after me

“YOU’RE GONNA REGRET THAT KARI!!!!!!!!!!!!!” she kept saying over and over again. I just laughed and smiled

Kari: DUH!!!!!

Yuuki: I’m SO happy that you’re ok!!

Ed: you had us ALL worried!!!

Al: YEA!!!
