The next morning, Thomas, Patton, and Logan leaned over the table where they were joined with Roman only days ago.

"I'm telling you! Virgil can really help us! He knows the Cove of Lies like the back of his hand, has the right motivation to, and knows how to get him back to normal!" Patton reasoned.

Logan pushed up his glasses. "Hm. And what is this... motivation you are talking about?"

Patton giggled a bit. "That's for him to say, it's quite personal."

Thomas sighed. "I'm kind of with Logan on this, Pat... He just got here! Are we sure we can fully trust him yet?"

Patton looked at him, determination set in his eyes. "He'll prove himself soon! Just you wait."

Logan made a small grunt of disapproval. "O...kay... While we wait, how about we make a—"

He was cut off by three adrenaline-filled knocks coming from the door. Patton opened the door to reveal Virgil standing there, panting and gripping Roman's sash.

The fatherly man ushered him in, not bothering to close the door. Virgil looked up at Thomas, his nose red from crying. Virgil shakily held up the red silk. "Let me save him," he whispered, barely audible.

Patton looked up at Logan with a look in his eyes that could only mean "I told you so."

The intellectual scoffed. He opened his mouth to respond, only to be interrupted when a familiar voice rang out smoothly.

"Well, this is fun."

The four could hear the smirk in his voice.Patton and Logan looked over, the sharp and flat screams clashing. Thomas and Virgil looked over to see who it was, both gasping in surprise.

There, leaning on the door frame, was Roman. But it wasn't Roman. He had a flower crown of pitch-black roses, his white and gold replaced with black and silver. And his once warm brown eyes were now cold, unnerving, and bright yellow.
