CHAPTER 2
Roman paused, thinking he heard crying. He rolled his eyes, knowing that no one else except his men was out there. He pushed onwards. It was up to him to end this war. And that was exactly what he was going to do.
Virgil took a shaky breath and gathered the rest of his strength. He got to his feet and ran as fast he could to the castle.
Logan and Thomas were talking out in the garden when they heard someone collapse in front of the gates and jumped up, running to the noise. There the darkly dressed young adult was, clutching his stomach. He looked up at the two. "Danger... Roman... Corrupt..." he struggled.
Thomas kneeled next to him. "Shh... First, we need to get you inside. Logan, help me." Logan nodded, lifting him up.
Virgil struggled. "What you-" He winced. "Need to do, i-is stop Princey from visiting that – that snake," he hissed.
Logan frowned. "Deceit? He's going for a peace treaty."
Virgil sniffed, flinching in pain. Thomas slowly put the pieces together. "Roman will be corrupted." He deadpanned.
Logan froze as Virgil slowly nodded. Virgil let a tear slip.
"And it's all my fault."
