"Captain! Lazer ball at 12 o'clock!!" Doctor Doppler shouts.

You, Jim, and Captain Amelia all look up at the lazer ball that is indeed soaring straight for you all. Captain Amelia pulls the lever that directs the small air ship you are all aboard on to the left, but the lazer ball still hits the ship. It crashes into the back of the ship, where the lever and Captain Amelia are. The impact creatures an explosion and Captain Amelia falls to the floor in pain.

The ship starts plummeting down from the sky towards the forest below and you grunt as it hits a tree; sending you flying to the other end of the ship and into Jim. You both fall to the floor in pain but the air ship is crashing too violently for you two to get back up.

The air ship hits another tree sending, this time, Captain Amelia and Doctor Doppler towards the floor of the ship. It doesn't take long before the ship hits the ground of the forest, breaking the wood of the floor. Suddenly the tip of the air ship hits a rock and the whole ship flips over. Doctor Doppler and Captain Amelia hold onto the ship but you can't seem to be able to grip onto anything from the violent shaking of the air ship.

Since Jim is behind you, he holds onto the air ship with one hand and wraps his other around your waist. The soles of your boots graze against the forest ground as the air ship still skates across the ground. Sparks start to fly up from the edges of the air ship before it finally slows down and stops.

Smoke begins to rise from beneath the air ship, filling up the small area you are all in. The smoke makes it hard to breathe and, despite his efforts, Jim drops you and you fall to the ground. It wasn't a long fall but it did cause you pain. Jim drops down after you and you can see Captain Amelia and Doctor Doppler crouching on the ground in the smoke. Coughing, you and Jim push the air ship over and the smoke finally escapes, allowing you all to breathe.

"Ow," Jim winces as he rubs the back of his neck.

"Oh my goodness," breathes Doctor Doppler, "that was more fun than I ever want to have again."

He stands up and so does Captain Amelia.

"It's not one of my gossamer landings," laughs Captain Amelia, before she winces and holds her side.

She falls back towards the ground and Doctor Doppler runs to her side.

"Captain!"

He and Jim both help her stand up and Captain Amelia sighs.

"Oh, don't fuss. It's like bruising, that's all. Cup of tea and I'll be right as rain." Captain Amelia straightens her vest before looking at Doctor Doppler, "Mr Hawkins."

At the same time, you and Captain Amelia look confused. She shakes her head and looks at Jim.

"Pardon. The map, if you please."

She raises her hand out to him and he nods and searches his pockets for it. In his left pocket he pulls out the golden ball and lets it rise up. You all look in anticipation for the map to open but then all of a sudden the map starts to turn into pink blobs. There can only be one reason.

"Morph!" You say.

The shape shifter starts to laugh and flies over to Jim.

"Morph?! Where's the map??" Jim shouts.

Morph turns into a pile of ropes and the map. The golden ball goes inside the pile of ropes and Morph giggles again.

"Are you serious, it's back on the ship?!" Jim shouts again.

You pinch the bridge of your nose and sigh. Morph flies around Jim in circles giggling as he goes but you can tell that Jim is about to snap.

"Stifle that blob," Captain Amelia grunts, and Jim grabs Morph, "and get low."

You look up to see another air ship making its way into the forest, probably with Mr Silver in it.

"We've got company." Captain Amelia whispers.

You all hide under the air ship that is now broken and in no way of repair. Captain Amelia is holding a rifle close to her chest as she views the air ship landing about a kilometre away.

"We need a more defensible position." She says and stands up, "Mr Hawkins, Ms (Y/L/N), scout ahead."

She hands Jim a revolver and he takes it without question. Morph looks scared and flies over onto your shoulder for comfort. You gladly allow it. You need some comfort as well.

"Aye Captain." Says Jim, "Let's go (Y/N)."

Jim begins to walk off as Doctor Doppler helps Captain Amelia with her injury. You follow closely behind Jim as you two start to trek through the forest.

It's mostly open space, which both you and Jim agree on being too exposing, so you continue to walk until you find a cave-in in the ground. It looks like a good area covered by trees, so Jim slides down the side first and then looks around.

"All clear." He says.

You nod and begin to slide down the side as well, but your boots don't have enough grip to stop and you bump into Jim. He instinctively puts his arms around you and you hold onto his shoulders. As you straighten up you meet his eyes and you both stare at each other for a while.

When Morph finally makes a sound you let go and Jim scratches the back of his neck. You don't know it, but with your back turned Morph is giggling at Jim and Jim is trying to shut Morph up. When you turn to look at them both they act as if they were doing nothing.

You wait for Jim to continue walking before you start to smile. It's true, you have a crush on Jim, but from all the times you've spent together it was hard not to like him. Vise versa, he feels the same, but you don't know that.

There is a log blocking the path ahead of you, so Jim shuffles over it first. Then, once he's standing on the other side, he holds out his hand to you and you take it with a small smile. You walk over the top of the log and once you're next to Jim you thank him.

"It's ok." He says.

His hand lingers onto holding yours for a while, before he lets go and continues to walk.

"Um, Jim." You say.

"Yeah?" He turns to look at you.

"Nevermind."

"No, what?"

You stop walking and so does Jim. Morph rests on your shoulder again.

"Well, we might be walking into a trap right now, or maybe we'll get found and then attacked so I might as well say it now."

Jim looks at you and you read his face. Is he... happy?

"I, um... I really like you, Jim. Like, a lot."

Your cheeks must be the colour of Morph by now. No matter, Jim starts to smile at you.

"(Y/N), I like you too."

"You do?" You ask.

Jim nods.

"Yeah, I've liked you since the moment I saw you hit that reptilianoid with a mop."

You giggle at the memory. Jim smiles at you and walks closer to you, filling the gap between you two. You're nervous as ever when Jim tucks a loose strand of hair behind your ear and starts to leans his head closer to yours.

As soon as your eyes close you can feel his lips on yours. It's a gentle kiss, and one you never imagined you would ever get from Jim. It's almost like you're dreaming all of this up. Jim pulls away and then smiles at you again and you smile back. Morph starts to giggle again as you two rest your foreheads on one another.

"I've wanted to do that for a while." Jim admits.

You don't get to respond before a golden-rusted robot attacks you two to the ground.

"Oh, you two carbon-based lifeforms are so cute!!"
