#HenryWeek - Sad Imagine.
Word count: 3,316

You kick the pebbles lying around on the ground by your feet as you make your way over to Mr Gold's Pawn Shop. Sliding your hands into your hoodie pockets, you sigh but try to make quick pace. After all, the only reason why you're going there in the first place it to be away from all the danger.

Henry had told you to go there to stay safe, even though you wanted to tag along with him and the others, but he persisted so you solemnly agreed. Everyone was going to stop Hook from destroying Storybrooke. He had brought back all the previous Dark Ones and was about to enact something deadly, but now the team is going to stop him.

The team unfortunately doesn't include you, though. Henry always says how it upsets him when people treat him like a kid still, but what about you? Now you're the one being treated like a kid and by Henry! You thought he would've understood and let you come with him and the others, but then last minute he told you to hide.

You don't hide. Everyone knows that you, (Y/f/n), don't hide from danger. You strike back and defeat the blasted thing. Yet here you are, walking to the Pawn Shop and obeying orders like a child. It's so stupid! You should be out there fighting with them, but instead you're going to go lock yourself up in the shop and wait until they come for you and rub in how great they were.

The Shop is only a few strides away so you quicken your pace and make it over to the door. As you're about to turn the handle, though, someone shouts out your name making you hault. You look around to find the source of the voice and finally you spot him; Henry, running down the street and waving his hands frantically.

"(Y/n)!" He shouts, almost sounding scared.

"Henry?" You call back, letting your hand slide off of the door handle.

"Move! Get away!" He shouts.

He's still far away so you can't exactly hear him.

"What?" You shout back, now moving away from the door.

You understand the meaning of his screams-- get away from the shop-- but when he tries to explain to you why you can't hear him properly. As you're about to take the next step and run over to him, you feel the presence of someone near you. Stopping, you turn around and immediately gasp.

There, standing in front of you, is Nimue. Her dark green skin and black cloak make you shiver so you try to run away but she catches your arm, and tugging you back, she reaches her hand deep into your chest.

"No!!" Screams Henry, trying his hardest to run as fast as he can.

The pain rushes all through you as Nimue rips out your heart. It feels like someone burnt a hole in your chest and is letting the flames nip away at your skin. You find it hard to breathe but it only gets worse when Nimue starts squeezing your heart. Now it feels like someone is pouring acid over the hole in your chest.

Screaming out, you can't seem to move, and then suddenly it's all over as your heart completely crushes in Nimue's hand, turning into ash as she lets it fall from her hand.

"No!" Henry shouts, finally making it to you, but it's too late.

You fall towards the ground but Henry catches you in his arms. Nimue smiles wickedly before she disappears into a cloud of smoke, leaving your dead body behind in Henry's arms.

"(Y/n)! (Y/n)!" Henry cries, kneeling down on the concrete.

Your body limps around in his hold as he tries to lay you. Eyes closed and hands scrapped down on the ground, your whole body becomes cold.

"No, please (Y/n)." Cries Henry.

His tears fall from his cheeks onto your soft skin. He shakes you a couple of times hoping, praying that you'll wake up, but you never do. Your limp body just rolls around as Henry tries to hold you close.

"(Y/n), please." Henry continues to cry.

His sobs become hectic as he tries to wake you up. He can barely see through the tears building up in his eyes and falling down his cheeks.

He could've saved you! If he was faster he could've saved you. No, if he was smarter. He never should've told you to go to Mr Gold's shop in the first place! Not alone. Not when you could've been with him and the others... alive.

Craddling your dead body in his arms, Henry tries to breathe properly but he can't. He gasps between sobs and he brushes his fingers across your cheeks. They used to be red. Henry loved it when you would blush. He found it cute when you did and always tried to make you blush from then on.

You'd smile too. Whenever he would crack a joke you'd smile, and laugh; how that laugh could cure anything. Henry would do whatever he could to hear you laugh again. But here you are, lifeless in his arms, and with his tears on your face.

---

You stare out at the icy waves as they lap around the boats tied up at the docks. The boats sway from left to right in the ocean as the water rises and falls. As you sigh you can see your breath in the cold air, so you snuggle in tighter to your coat.

"(Y/n)! (Y/n)!" Shouts a male.

You turn around to see your friend, Hercules, running over to you.

"What is it? Is everything ok?" You ask, standing up from sitting on the edge of a dock.

"Yes, everything is great! (Y/n), that friend you told me about, Henry?"

"Yeah? What about him?"

"He's here." Hercules says, in a much softer tone.

Your mouth gapes open as you imagine Henry somewhere you can talk to him. Tears start to brim your eyes as you clutch onto Hercules' arm for support.

"Where?" You ask.

"The Mayor's house." He says.

"Take me to him."

Hercules nods and grabs your hand, running off from the docks with you running beside him. It's like suddenly you have all this air in your lungs as you try your best to run as fast as you can over to the Mayor's house, also known as Regina's place.

When you finally reach the house, Hercules opens the front gate and runs inside the front garden, and you follow behind him. You try to look past his body but he's too broad being a Demigod, but then he steps to the side and there you see him, the guy you love, Henry Mills.

You immediately stop running and stare at Henry. Your chest rises and falls from your fast breathing and there's nothing but silence and your breathing to be heard. He's here. He's actually here. Then, suddenly, you smile and laugh. It's a quick, happy laugh that leaves your mouth in one breath, and then you run. You run over to Henry as fast as you can.

He steps down from the front porch and opens his arms wide as you collide into him. The force of your hug is almost too strong for him and it seems like he's about to tip over, but he regains his footing and wraps his arms around you tightly as you burry your face in his chest.

Tears fall down you cheeks and dampen his shirt as you feel yourself shaking. You don't say anything, you both know what you would say anyway, so you just hold him close and he tightens the hug.

"I've missed you." He whispers, and you can tell he's crying too.

But then you pull back and look him in the eyes, completely shocked and now you're starting to worry.

"You're not...?" You ask.

"No! No, I'm alive. Just visting." Henry says.

You smile again, and after another breath of laughter you pull Henry down by his shirt and kiss him. You don't care if he pushes you away or if he doesn't feel the same way, all you care about is that he's here with you. But he doesn't move away, instead his hands lower and he wraps his arms around your waist as he kisses back.

Both of you share your sadness and happiness through the kiss. And it's not sweet either, it's passionate and powerful and you don't want to stop. Henry deepens the kiss and your hands grip onto his shirt, scrunching it slightly, as you let him take over. This kiss is the best out of all the ones you've ever had, and you're happy that it's Henry you're kissing.

Finally, because air is a devilish thing and needs to be inhaled, you pull back and smile as you rest your forehead on Henry's. He looks at you as his eyes slowly start to open.

"I've missed you too." You finally say.

Henry smiles and rubs his hand across your waist. It seems almost perfect if it weren't for Hercules standing right there and awkwardly clearing his throat. You and Henry both pull back and then, when you thought you never could ever again, you two laugh.

---

"(Y/n)?" Henry calls you, walking up the stairs.

You're sitting on his bed in Mary Margaret and David's apartment. It's been three weeks now since they came and you've spent every moment you could with them. But now you're wanting to be alone and Henry isn't exactly respecting your wishes, even if he doesn't even know it.

"Hey, I was wondering where you went." He smiles, sitting next to you on the bed.

You don't smile, don't talk, and don't move. You just continue to stare at the wall.

"What's wrong?" Henry asks, now concerned, as he puts his arm around you for comfort.

Tears brim your eyes as you think of how you're going to brake this to him.

"Henry, I..." You close your eyes briefly, "I..."

"What's wrong?" Henry repeats, now in a whisper.

Now some tears roll down your cheeks as you swallow and get ready to tell him the news you only received a couple of hours ago.

"I can't go back." You say.

"What?" Henry asks.

"I can't. Henry, I can't go back with you to the Overworld."

Henry now is the one to keep quiet. He slowly pulls away as he thinks about what you just said.

"No, but, why?" Henry asks, feeling like he just got hit by a train.

"Emma can bring Killian back because she's going to split her heart, but Henry how I am going to come back? You can't split your heart." You say, letting more tears fall.

"So? We'll figure something out. We always figure something out."

"What is there to figure out?" You ask, voice raising, "I can't go back. I can't. I'm stuck here."

"I won't accept that!" Henry protests, voice rising as well, "I'm not leaving this place unless you're coming with me."

"Then you'll never leave, because I can't!"

"I don't care if I have to stay here with you forever!"

"Henry, how can you say that?"

"Because I love you! I've always loved you and I know you love me too, and when you love someone you don't give up on them and you never, never leave them alone. Not like what I did back when you were alive."

"You didn't know," You say.

"I should've." Henry states, "And now I'm never leaving you again."

"You don't deserve this. Go back and live your life without me."

"I can't."

"And I can't survive knowing you'll be throwing your life away for me."

"You are my life!"

"Henry,"

"Aren't I yours?"

You stay silent. He's right.

"You told me, (Y/n)." Henry says, "You told me that I was your unfinished business. So I'm not leaving without you."

Henry takes your hand in his and rests his forehead on yours. You close your eyes briefly and you feel yourself relax by his touch.

"Then what are we going to do?" You whisper.

"Whatever it takes." Henry says.

---

"A telephone box?" Henry asks, staring at the red box.

"Yes." You smile.

"This is what you wanted to show me?"

"Oh come on, there's more to it than you think."

"Is it bigger on the inside?"

"Shut up." You laugh.

You take Henry's hand in yours and walk over to the red box, then you open the doors and walk inside with him. Pointing to the phone hung on its wall, you softly smile at Henry but he just raises his eyebrow.

"I don't get it." He says.

"Obviously, I haven't told you what it does yet." You say, nudging him slightly.

"Ok then. What does it do?"

"It lets me communicate with the other side."

"The other side being the Overworld?"

"No, the other side being Adele's single. Yes the Overworld!"

You and Henry both laugh until you continue to explain it to Henry.

"It's supposed to be used for haunting, but I'm going to use it for talking." You say.

"Talking? To who?" Henry asks.

You look at him silently. He stares at you for a while before he sighs.

"(Y/n), you don't need this to talk to me. You can do plenty of that when you come back with us." He says.

"I know," You reply sadly, "but just in case."

You know for a fact that there's nothing to be done about you. How can you go back if there's nothing to bring you there? You're dead and the dead can only go to the Overworld if they get revived or are sent there for a special purpose. You have neither.

When Henry leaves, you still want to be able to talk to him, and if this is the only way then so be it. Henry doesn't want it to be true, though. He wants to spend forever with you. So, he intertwines his fingers with yours by holding your hand and leaves the telephone box so that you two can eat at the Diner.

---

"Leave her alone!" Henry shouts, angrily trying to free himself from the spell.

Hades had gotten mad at Emma as another soul left the realm, and he believes that the only way to make her suffer is to hurt Henry, and the only way to hurt Henry is to hurt you. He used his magic to contain Henry in a force field of some kind and then transported you three to underground.

You keep your footing as you look behind you at the flames. They're slowly rising to the top of the rock, and guess where you are; the top of the rock.

"She just couldn't help herself, could she? Even in the Underworld Emma thinks she's the Savior." Hades says.

"That's because she is the Savior!" Henry shouts.

"Oh, boo-hoo she's not the Savior down here!"

Hades looks over at Henry and lets his hair light up in blue flames.

"Now, it's time to say goodbye to (Y/n)." He says.

"No!" Henry shouts, "I won't let you touch her!"

"How are you going to stop me? You're behind my magic."

"Enough, Hades!" You shout, "If you want to kill me for good then just hurry up and do it already."

"Why in such a hurry for death?" Hades asks, "You can't really want that, do you?"

You look down at the ground as you step further away from the fiery flames. With the silence Hades' question is answered.

"You do?" He gasps, "Oh, this is too good! You actually want to die."

You look up at him and glare. How dare he mock you, especially in front of Henry.

"Did you hear that, spud?" Hades asks, walking closer to Henry, "Your girlfriend wants to die."

"That's not true!" Henry says.

"Of course it is! Go on, (Y/n), tell him."

You just stare at them with your mouth shut. Hades is right; you do want to die. What he's saying is true.

"(Y/n)?" Henry asks.

"It would be easier." You say.

"What would be? Your death? My sorrow?"

"You could finally move on! If I left... if I died... then you could live your life."

"I already told you that you're my life!"

"Henry, using that stupid telephone booth is not enough for me! It'll just hurt too much. Besides, who will I have when you leave? Hercules isn't here anymore. I'd have no one, nothing! I can't deal with that. I wouldn't be able to cope with the pain."

"You'll go through more pain if you die this way."

"He's right about that." Hades interrupts.

"As long as you're free then I don't care." You tell Henry.

"(Y/n)," Henry sighs.

"Oh wow, just hurry up and tell her you love her already." Hades groans.

Henry looks at you but you shake your head.

"It's ok. I already know." You say.

"Well golly, this is boring." Hades says, "Goodbye (Y/n)."

"No!" Henry shouts.

You widen your eyes as Hades blows out air that pushes you back towards the flames. You get flung straight off the rock and down into the pit of fire.

"No!!" Screams Henry, tears streaming down his face.

But then suddenly the area becomes bright and a white lights shines in. The fire disappears and the rock becomes complete as a floor, and there you stand ontop of it; not a scratch on you.

You look around as you don't know what's happening, but at the look of Hades' face it's a good thing.

"You'll pay for this." He snarls, and disappears into a cloud of smoke.

The magic that was enveloping Henry fades away and he immediately runs over to you.

"Are you ok?" He asks, hugging you briefly.

"Yes, I think so." You nod, "What happened?"

"I think... I think you're moving on."

You look behind you at the bright light and realize it's true. You are going to die but you're going to a better place.

"I don't want to go anymore." You admit, holding onto Henry.

"I don't think you have a choice, (Y/n)." Henry says sadly.

"But you're my unfinished business. How come I'm moving on?"

"I don't know, but I think whoever is in the other side will tell you."

"Hercules." You smile.

You're happy to see him again but sad at the same time. The only good thing about this is that you won't be alone anymore.

"So, I'm leaving then?" You ask, tears swelling in your eyes.

"Yeah, you're going." Henry says, tears also in his eyes.

"I don't want to go."

"You have to, now."

"Henry, I don't want to leave you."

"You won't. I'll always be with you, (Y/n)." Henry says, kissing your forehead.

As he pulls back you grab his shirt again to pull him into another kiss. Like the first one it's full of passion. That phrase people use, we kissed like it was the last time, is exactly how this kiss is happening. You know it's your last time, so you're not going to stop anytime soon.

Henry wraps his arms around your waist again and after a few more rounds, you both pull back to breathe.

"I'll miss you." You say.

"I'll always be thinking of you." Henry says.

"And I'll be watching."

He smiles and kisses you one last time before you hold his hand tightly and start to walk away. The more you back up the more you have to stretch you continue holding his hand, but then your fingers slip through his and you let go.

Then you walk away, into the light, into a better place, with the image of Henry waving goodbye in your brain.
