A year of self growth is what was given to me,
Got to experience joy,sadness, and envy.
Done many things out of my comfort zone,
There were times when I felt thrown.
Made many hard choices with zero insight into the future,
With zero idea whether it would float or rupture.
For the first time ever I felt something new - freedom,
Learnt a lot of new things in lumpsome.
Life always finds a way to prove you wrong,
But with each lesson it makes you strong.
Never knew what was coming my way,
But this year made me realize I can persevere and stay.
This year I learnt to accept the inevitable change,
Also understood the need to express myself without refrain.
Shed of my old self to get a fresh start,
Made life long friendships a part.
Life is the same thing always on repeat,
But it turns into something new at every beat.
