Ok but shittiness aside, the thought of Darry walking Johnny down the aisle is adorable.
There were a million butterflies in his stomach and his heartbeat filled his ears. He carried a small bouquet of white and black roses and wore a white suit as he was led towards the altar and the man of his dreams. Dally was smiling in anticipation, unable to keep still. Darry dropped Johnny off at the altar then joined the other guys. "You're beautiful." Whispered Dally. Johnny blushed as the priest began.
Pretty sure most priests wouldn't be okay with performing a gay wedding now, let alone in the 1970s.
When it was time to exchange rings, Ponyboy stepped up with the soft pillow which held the rings. The couple says their vows as they slip the rings onto each others hands. "I now pronounce you, married!" Exclaimed the priest. The crowd cheered and clapped as Dally and Johnny kissed. This was inarguably the best day of both their lives.
Not gonna lie, historical inconsistencies aside, this was cute.
