In college

All the preparations where going as it was the culturals today.Students ,faculties everyone where running around the auditorium caught up with their respective work.Annika was getting ready in the girls dressing room while shivaay was practising in some other class.

The event was announced to be held at evening. It was around 5.30 PM and some of the parents already started arriving.Shivaay went to the backstage to check for the sounds in the system and when he returned he saw Karunya and Arjun making their way into the hall.He went to meet them.

S- namaste maa.

K- namaste beta,kaisi ho?Is my daughter keeping you happy,or is she troubling you ?(she asked teasingly)

S- nahi aunty,I'm fine.(he smiled)Aap aahiye mere saath.

He had already reserved a place for them with pinky and Jhanvi, so he took them to that place.Karunya was contented watching his genuineness and felt happy for making the right choice for her daughter. The trio ladies ,started their chit chat while ajju was continuously trying to ask something to shivaay .

S- bolo aju?kya huwa?

Aj- I want to meet si.(he asked with a cute face)

S- ok fine ,chalo .

Aj- hmm,how should I call you ?vo naani ne uss din kya kaha...mau..

S- no no ,I feel like I'm a big uncle when you call me that .So not that one ok.

Aj- tho phir,hmm...aapka naam?

S- shivaay

Aj- poora naam.(stressing the word)

S- Shivaay Singh Oberoi .

Aj- ye bhi bahut lambi hai,kya karthei...(he was thinking)yes,SSO kaisi hai?

S- S-S-O...good.

Aj- ok SSO,would you please take me to si ,now.

S- yeah.

He carried aju and moved towards the backstage as annika was practising there.Since annika's programme was mime presentation all the girls were exactly similar to the other adorned with the same makeup.But shivaay had no difficulties in finding his wife.

S- annika.(he called her from behind)

A-haan(she turned back),hi aju...tum aagayi (she giggled and took him in her arms)mummy?

S- vo ...I asked her to sit with mom and badi maa,she's with them.

Aj- wow si ,tum ek dham devil jaise lag rahi ho.(laughing and taking her cap)

Annika

A-hmmm(she fakely laughed)very funny.Vaise shivaay,how did you find me?This room is gathered with nearly 35 girls with similar look ,how did you recognize me?

Before shivaay could answer.

Aj- aisa lag raha hai jaise, usko sirf aur sirf tum hi dikhthi ho, si.Haina?(he asked looking at shivaay)

Immediately there was a quite, long extension in annika's lips depicting her subtle blush which didn't go unnoticed by shivaay.

S- uhh,annika mein chaltha hoon.

A- ek minute shivaay.You will watch my program right?(she asked curiously)

S- I don't know annika,pata nahi mein kahan hongi uss waqt.

But soon he noticed her face crawling in disappointment.

S- annika, wherever I am,I'll surely be watching your performance. (he said assuringly which brought a instant glow on her face)

He went from there.

Aj- kya chal raha hai yahan?(moving her chin to meet her face)

A- what?

Aj- you are changing.

A- matlab?

Aj- I don't remember my si blushing anytime before.

A- hogaya,chup kar tum.(taking the cap from his head)

After sometime the program started and the students from both the colleges were giving their best in every event. The next event was annika's mime.

She along with her team performed flawless fantastic creation portraying a comedy act.The gathering present there were actually enjoying it.Shivaay was watching her act standing near the door.He was slightly tensed on her gymnastic flexing, as she got hurt while during the practise itself.But she did it perfectly, making him sigh in relief.At once her act was finished a huge round of applause echoed throughout the stadium.

Then it was time for shivaay's dance.

Gauri- annika,aren't you coming to the hall,next is shivaay's dance you know it right?

A- actually , I'm having headache so you carry on .I'll stay here(she hesitated)

G- are you sure?

A- ji.

Gauri went.

Annika could here ,the music sound along with the other students cheering for shivaay and Raagini .She just sat on the chair with her head rested on the desk and covered her ears.She didn't show up anytime, but the very thought that shivaay was actually dancing with Raagini disturbed her like hell from the minute she came to know about it.She was unaware of the reason behind all this .

All the events were completed, and it was the time for the announcement of the winners.Each event had alternative winners from both the colleges.But fortunately Shivika won the first place in their respective activities. Both were extremely happy on winning .

It was already ,around 9 PM when the program finished.And everyone started leaving.Everyone congratulated annika and shivaay for making it today.Karunya was very happy and felt proud on her daughter.

Pinky- you were too good today annika.

A- thank you mummy.

S- mom,mein?

P- oh my mata shivaay,tum pinky ka beta ho.So obvious haina,bahut acha dance kiya hai tumne.(to which he smiled)

A- shivaay,meri dress tumhare bag pe hai.Vo actually my bag was full,so I kept it in your's when we were in the car.I'll go and wash my face,and then pick them from you .Where will you be?

S- I'll be in the lab lock,2nd floor.

A-ok fine .

Then all the family members went from there.

On the other side

Raagini- Nikki,did you see ,we won the first prize .It's a dream for me ,did you notice when they announced ,Raagini and Shivaay (she said dreamily)our names sound good together right?

Nikkitha- You are always thinking about him,but he seems to have no interest in you.And one more thing ,I have seen him with annika many times.They don't seem to be just friends ,to be honest.I think your dream is forever staying as dream only.

R- shut up and leave.( she said and glared her)

N- Raa..

R- I said leave.

Nikki went.

R-annika...(she gritted her teeth in anger)

After washing her face ,annika made her way to the lab block through the corridor.Raagini was also present there and saw annika approaching there.But annika didn't notice Raagini.Something striked her mind and instantly she had a evil smirk wandering on her face.She went inside the class were shivaay was present.

S- Raagini? You didn't leave yet?

R- Actually I thought of thanking you for today,because I don't know whether I would have made it without you.

S- ohh , it's nothing like that.You were equally best today and even I must thank you for that.

R- ouch...(squeezing her eyes)

S- what happened?

R- I think something went into my eyes,it's pricking terribly. Could you plss blow it out....sss ouch.(she was faking it)

S- ok.

And shivaay helped her out.But to his bad luck the next second,annika entered the room .As soon as he eyes fell on them ,she fell numb because it looked as though they both were kissing .(she was facing shivaay's back)Before even she could realize,tears brimmed in her eyes and they were ahead of travelling through her cheecks anytime.Raagini who saw annika smirked and  moved still more close to shivaay.

Annika was holding onto a chair to gather support,which soon fell down making shivaay turn.At once she left the place .Shivaay was confused,as he had no idea that annika would misunderstand the situation.

In parking area

S- annika you didn't change?

A- it's ok,I'm fine with this.(sitting inside the car)

She was very much disturbed after the incident ,whatever it was ,her heart was deliberately conveying that shivaay wouldn't do such things but her mind was pasting the glance of the incident again and again making her go confused.

The journey was silent until,

A-was it your first kiss?(she blurted out)

Immediately the car stopped.

S- what?(shocked)what are you even asking annika?

A- vo classroom mei tum aur Raagini....(she said not meeting his eyes)

Shivaay understood what she meant.He quitely took her hand and burried it between his fists which made her to look at him.

S- aapko sach mei lagtha hai,ki mein aisa kar sakta hoon?(he asked directly looking into her eyes)

A-nahi(she immediately responded)(after a long pause)I mean it's ok,you can share it with me.Even if it was the truth ,I can handle it.Anyway ,we are not like other normal married couple right.

S- annika,you just created  scene ...which is actually a lie and just your illusion.(he was trying to start the car but it wasn't)

A- I shouldn't have ,asked you about this.It's your personal matter,you can do anything you want,who am I to question you?Even if you want divorce, I'm ok with it.(she said the last sentence in a very low voice which was still audible to him)

Listening this ,he felt worse. Like what he did?How can girls be so wit but more stupid too ?(he thought)Feeling his silence ,she looked at him to find him fidgeting and squeezing his eyes.

A- kya huwa shivaay?

S- I don't know ,Something's irritating my eye.

A- dikao.

She went near him and blew up on his eye .

A- is it fine now?

S- yeah,and thank  you...I enjoyed your kiss.(he said this and fixed his vision on the road)

A- what do you mean?when did I kiss you?(baffled)

S- now.(he replied with full attitude)

Understanding why he said that , annika realized what blunder she has made.At the same time ,she felt a sigh of relief which popped in her, out of nowhere.

A- So you faked it?

S- no,I just made use of the situation.

A- I'm sorry.

He didn't react.

A- shivaay ,I said I'm sorry.(placing her palms on his shoulder)I know you wouldn't do such things ,but the thought was just disturbing me all this time .That's why I just...I don't know what I did,I'm sorry.

S- I'm just glad ,you cleared out your misunderstanding. It's ok annika,I should have expected this...I didn't know that you'd have least trust in me.Yeah,you are not at fault,who am I to you.(his voice depicted his pain of disappointment)

A- don't speak like this ,shivaay. It's hurting.

S- then...do you even realize what  I  would have felt when you spoke about divorce. (He spoke with rage)

A- I'm sorry,I just overreacted.

She was about to hit herself,but immediately he caught her hand indicating not to do that.

S- do you trust me now?(looking into her eyes)

A- Shivaay,what are you even asking ?Do you remember our first meeting.The very first sight from me on you was filled with trust .I don't know the reason behind it even today,but when I saw you at the harbour ...I knew I would reach home safely that day.So it is not that I didn't trust you today.It just happened  in a rush,I'm sorry.

They both were actually reacting as though they were long time lovers come married couple ,which they didn't realize to be certain.

All this time, without her own consious she was near him cupping his face within her palms and he was all lost in her.But soon she realized it and pulled back with an awkward face.

S- you didn't tell anything about my dance with Raagini today?( diverting her)

A- not again.(she glared at him and signed negatively)

Then shivaay realized that the, car was punctured so he called a mechanic. The mechanic told that it would take half an hour to repair it. So shivika just thought of going for a walk to feel some cool breeze .

While walking they both congratulated the other for today,and they were into a normal random conversation when suddenly something hit shivaay's forehead.

S- ahhh,(wincing )

A- oh my God your bleeding .(she held his head and wiped the blood)

A- what the hell was that?

S- I don't know ,something just came and hit me, ahh.

Then they looked that side ,to see how it happened. They stood confused as there was no one except a old man.Before they could do anything,the old man ran and stood near annika.

O- hey you(to shivaay)stay away from my didi,(holding annika's hands)if you trouble her again .I'll kill you with these stones (he had a bunch of stones in his pocket)

Annika and shivaay were extremely confused, like they didn't know what was actually going around them.

O- didi...you're fine right?Nothing will happen to you now ,I'm here with you .(he was glaring at shivaay)

A- uhh,Am I your sister...

O- yes didi.

A- and what is your age?

O- you are 12 ,so obviously I'm 7 .

Shivika understood that the old man was mentally challenged. Then another woman came running that way.

W- papa, (to the old man)I have told you not to leave the house right ,why do you do this every time?Come let's go home.(pulling him)And I'm sorry(to shivika),If he had disturbed you .

A- no ,it's ok. Where is your house?

W- in the next street.

A-take care of him.

O- bye didi,(waving hands)if the next time he troubles you then call me .I'll kill him.(he said this before leaving)

While shivaay had a blank look.

S- lagtha hai,aapka ek aur bhai aagaya.(he chuckled and looked at her to find her standing still looking at the man)

S- annika ?are you alright?

A- yeah,(she controlled her tears from reaching her cheecks)kuch yaad aya muje,that's it.

S- (lifting her chin)is it madhumitha?

She was stunned knowing that shivaay knew about her sister.

A- tumhe pata tha?

S- hmm.

A- (silence prevailed for a long time and then she spoke)Madhu...she also used to do like this ,calling for daksh everyday. She couldn't take it that he would never return to her.I remember every night how I and mummy would struggle to make her sleep. And after that ,I lost her one day...everything....everything was because of her damn love.What was her ultimate happiness from love ?death...I don't know what to say, she was a complete idiot...but,she is my sister,she is my madhu.

Tears were rumbling throughout her face and he was looking at her with atmost love he had for her.Not able to handle this anymore ,she leaned on his chest and hugged him which he soon reciprocated reflexively. He captured her within him and caressed her hair while she felt more secure in his arms.It wasn't any tight hug or there wasn't any shower of kisses,but still annika could feel peace at that moment.

Without her own consious, annika was somewhere falling for him as the days pass.But according to her ,the relationship between them was just labelled as friends.Let's wait till time changes everything.

He smiled and took her palms and placed it on his chest near his heart.

S- yahan hai.
