Matthew and Daniel headed down to the dining area to eat dinner for the night along with Crystal, who was comfortable sitting on Matthew's shoulder.

"Alright, so ready to eat!" Matthew cheered as they walked into the dining area and saw many trainers sitting down and eating with their pokemon or talking to other trainers.

"Relax there, Matt. The food is not going anywhere," Daniel chuckled at his little brother's behavior.

"I know that it's just all this traveling has made me hungry, " Matthew replied, jogging towards the plates, bowls, and trays to put their food on.

"I hear you are pokemon probably feel the same way," Daniel said, grabbing some bowls of pokemon food and a plate for himself.

"Meow!" Crystal cried out in agreement with Daniel.

"Right," Mathew said as he and his brother sat down and released their Pokemon for dinner.

"Danny, do you know what kind of Gym the first is since you with to Poketech?" Matthew asked, swirling spaghetti on his fork.

"Pewter City, a rock-type gym, so grass types or water types would be a good choice," Daniel replied, petting Crystal's head.

"Meowth!" Crystal cried out happily at the attention.

"So then I need to catch a Grass-type pokemon," Matthew said.

"Would be a great choice but not always necessary if you teach your Pokemon moves to help their disadvantages," Daniel explained, swallowing some of his spaghetti.

"I see. So does Crystal have ant moves for Rock-type Pokemon?" Mathew asked.

"Yeah, she knows BubbleBeam," Daniel replied.

"Cool, didn't know she could learn that," Matthew said."I thought Meowth could only learn Thunderbolt."

"Meowth can, but they can learn different types of moves like a lot of Normal type Pokemon," Daniel explained."Well, im going to check on Growlithe, "He said, standing up and finishing the last of his food.

"I'm going to come as well, hopefully; Growlithe is doing okay," Matthew said, getting up as well.

"Crystal, you and the others can stay and finish eating. We'll be back shortly, " Daniel said, looking back at Crystal.

"Meow!"Crystal nodded her understanding.

Daniel and Matthew approached the desk where Nurse Joy was holding Growlithe.

"Ah, Daniel Growlithe is perfectly fine; she needs some rest and be good to go, "Nurse Joy said.

"That's good. I want to ask you this earlier, but what do you say about coming with me, Growlithe?"Daniel asked.

"Really, you want to catch Growlithe?" Matthew asked.

"Yeah, she could be an excellent fire-type addition to the team," Daniel said.

"Grow!"Growlithe cried out, licking Daniel's face.

"I believe that was a yes, "Nurse Joy said, smiling.

"Alright then, welcome to the team Ruby the Growlithe," Daniel sai tapping a Pokeball on Growlithe's forehead and sucking it on inside.

The Pokeball shook three times and clicked, signaling that Growlithe was successfully caught."Alright, Gowlithe has been caught," He said, smiling.

"Awesome, we should I introduce her to the other pokemon," Matthew said.

"Right," Daniel said, walking towards the cafeteria where Crystal and the others were eating.

"Huh?" Matthew questioned, hearing a noise.

They both turn to see Officer Jenny slide in through the entrance on her motorcycle with the familiar sight of Ash in the side cart.

"Oh goodness," Matthew whispered, seeing Ash and a beat-up Pikachu."What did Ash get himself into on his first day?"He asked.

"I don't know, " Daniel replied as Officer Jenny stopped before the front desk.

"We have a driveway, you know, " Nurse Joy said, annoyed.

"Please help it," Ash said, standing up.

"Looks like a Pikachu. We do what we can," Nurse Joy said, turning to face the computer and typing."I need a stretches for a small electric Pokemon stat."

'What happened to Ash's Pikachu?' Daniel wondered what kind of trouble he got into as two Chansey approached, pushing an empty stretcher toward Nurse Joy and Ash.

Nurse Joy took Pikachu and carefully placed him on the empty stretcher."It will be okay, "She said softly."Rush this Pokemon to the critical care unit, "She said, looking at both Chansey.

One of the Chansey then took off with Pikachu. While the other hand, a medical kit to Nurse Joy as she put on gloves.

"We'll begin the treatment right away," Nurse Joy said.

"Um," Ash said, stepping forward.

"Who are you?" Nurse Joy asked.

"His name is Ash.  He's the Pokemon's trainer," Officer Jenny explained.

"If there is anything I can do, please tell me," Ash pleaded.

"You can be more responsible," Nurse Joy stated.

"Huh?" Ash questioned.

"Hey, don't you keep Ash company while I feed Growlithe and check on Crystal and the other Pokemon eating," Daniel said, getting Matthew's attention.

"Alright, I guess he could probably use it," Matthew said, seeing Ash defend face as Nurse Joy scolded him about Pikachu's condition.

Daniel looked back at Ash again before continuing his way over to the cafeteria, where he saw Crystal and the others almost done eating. He grabbed another bowl before going over to them and placing it down.

"Meowth?" Crystal questioned, seeing the bowl as Daniel put Pokemon food in it.

"We have a new friend joining us," He said, sending out Growlithe.

"Growlithe," Growlith said happily, seeing the food and starting to eat.

"Char!" Zuko said, walking over towards Growlithe.

"That right, we have another Fire-type Pokemon," Daniel said, looking at his little brother's starter Pokemon."Matthew up front, if you're ready to join him, Zuko."

"Chamander!"Zuko said, running off to join Matthew the Sora the Spearow flying after him.

"Alright, just the two of us," Daniel said, striking the head of Crystal and his Growlithe. He had decided on a name for yet, but his pokedex mentioned Growlithe was a female like Crystal.

"Meow?"

"Where is Sheldon, my Shellder? He is inside his Pokeball; he seem didn't seem super hungry," He replied.

After Growlithe was done eating. Daniel returned him as Crystal climbed onto his shoulder as they left to go get Matthew and head back on to ther room.

Daniel walked back to the entrance, where he saw Matthew and Ash with an orange hair girl who was yelling at Ash.  She was holding a burnt bike in her hands. 

'What happened to that bike of hers?' Daniel thought in confusion at the black charcoal bike.

"Hey, what happened to your bike?" Ash asked, dumbfounded at the sight of the bike.

"What happened to my bike!" She repeated."You happened t my bike, you little loser! This is what's left after you stole it to save your Pokemon is--" She was cut off by the weight of the burnt bike, causing her to fall back.

Ash ran over to help her up. At the same time, Matthew was just stareing st the burnt bike in confusion.

"Let me help you, " Ash said, extending his hand to her,  but she slapped it away.

"I don't need your help!  And you'll pay for what you did to my bike!" She snapped.

"I'll make up for it.  I promise I will,  really.  But I can't do anything about your bike until--"

"I don't want any of your excuses, kid!" She cut him off as she stood up. "I ju want a new bike right now!"

"That's enough," Daniel said, walking over to them and Matthew."Your bike is not that important at the moment."

"My big brother is right," Matthew agreed, walking ove to Daniel."His Pikachu health is more important right now; it is clearly not doing well since Nurse Joy still hasn't returned."

"Meow!" Crystal said in agreement with Matthew. 

Ash looked over at the operation doors as the orange hair girl's face softened.

"Is it severe?" She asked, concerned.

"I think so. And there's nothing I can do to help now," Ash said.

Suddenly the light for the operation room flocked off, and the doors slid open, revealing Nurse Joy, Chansey, and Pikachu was on a gurney.  The four of them rushed over to Pikachu's side. "Pikachu, are you alright?" Ash asked, but Pikachu appeared t be resting.

"Your Pikachu is resting.  It is a good thing you got here so fast. He will be fine," Nurse Joy said.

"Thanks to the Pokemon Center, " The girl said.

"Yeah, thank you very much," Ash agreed.

"Now, your Pokemon needs a good rest in the recovery room.  It will be best if you go with him, Ash, "Nurse Joy said, looking at Ash.

"Thanks," He said, giving a slight nod, and then turned to the girl, "Listen, I'm sorry about your bike, but I'm going to need some time to make things right."

"No way! I fell for that last time!" She said. "Well, you should take care of Pikachu now, and we'll settle this later."

Daniel shrugged at the girl yelling but to see she was calmed down despite still being mad about her bike.

"Um... Okay," Ash said.

Suddenly, an alarm went off, and Officer Jenny's voice came on to a speaker."Your attention, please. Out Viridian City ran for sensors, have detected an aircraft belonging to a gang of Pokemon thieves."She announced." If you have a Pokemon in your possession, exercise extreme caution."

Matthew looked at Daniel as he touched Crystal, keeping her close to him.

Then suddenly, two Pokeballs dropped to the ground, revealing a sphere-like gas Pokemon and a purple rattlesnake Pokemon. The gas Pokemon attacked, making black smoke spread around the room.

"What are? Who are they?" Ash asked, confused.

"Don't be frightened, little boy," A female voice called out that sounded a little familiar to Daniel, as if he heard the voice before.

"Allow us to introduce ourselves," A male said.

"Meow!" Crystal jumped down, standing guard, ready to fight and protect her trainer.

"Prepare for trouble!" The female started as the smoke began to disappear. She had long red hair and blue eyes. She wore a white top that reached her chest with the letter 'R' on the front, a white skirt with thigh-high heels, black boots, and gloves.

'No way I can't be her.' Daniel thought, looking at the female around his age but noticed her hair seemed redder.

"And make it double!" The male continued; he had shoulder-length blue hair and green eyes. He wore a white shirt with the letter 'R' on the front and long white pants, a black shirt underneath with black boots and gloves.

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all people within our nation!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!" The female identified herself.

'Jessica, that is you, after all.' Daniel thought, looking at the female and then at Crystal, who was just as surprised, remembering the girl her trainer seemed to like a lot.

"James!" The male identified himself.

"Team Rocket blasting off at the speed of light!"

"Surender now or prepare to fight!"

"Meowth, that's right?" A male Meowth said as he appeared in front of Jessie and James, standing on two legs.

"What are you talking about?" Ash asked.

"He just doesn't get it, does he?" Jessie said.

"How can I? You don't make sense," Ash stated.

"Jessica, is that you?" Daniel said, surprised.

"Huh?" Jessie said, confused, hearing Daniel and turned to look
at the taller male next to Matthew and Ash, her  eyes widened for a minute seeing Daniel."Blaze?"

"What, Blaze?" James said, confused.

"It's you, after all, Jessica," Daniel  said after hearing
the nickname she always used for him. 

"You know him?" Meowth asked.

Jessie stared at Daniel, not expecting to see him after so long.

"No way it really you after so long," Daniel said, shocked.

"Enough with distractions were here for the Pokemon," Jessie
said.

Daniel sighed, seeing Jessica wouldn't say anything else to him. Matthew looked at his older brother, wondering how he knew the female with the red hair.

"You're not getting Pikachu," Ash said, moving closer to his
Pokemon.

"Pikachu? We're not interested in your precious electric rat,"
Jessie scoffed.

"We seek only rare and valuable Pokemon," James said.

"You're wasting your time. This is a center for the weak and
injured Pokemon," Nurse Joy informed.

"Well, that might be so, but I wouldn't be all surprised if we
find some little Pokemon. He's among all the junk," Jessie
said.

"Come on, Jessica, don't act like you don't hear me," Daniel said.

"Looks like he annoyed," James said, smirking."Koffing, attack!"

"Ekans, go!"

Koffing used smokescreen as Ekans was running over towards them. They ran off into a room with pokeballs. Suddenly the power flickered off.

"Hey, the lights," The orange hair girl said.

"They must, of cut the power," Nurse Joy said but then smiled a little. "But we've got our own power source."

Everyone looked inside the room and saw there was a generator machine with Pikachu inside running and powering up the center.

"Oh, look at all the Pikachu!" The orange-haired girl said with a big smile.

"Meowth," Crystal said, looking at the Pikachu.

A computer turned on. "We must save those pokeballs," Nurse Joy said.

A machine grabbed the Pokeballs one by one as Nurse Joy talked to someone on the computer, transferring all the Pokeballs to another Pokemon center.

Suddenly smoke broke through the doors, and Koffing smashed through the doors, and Koffing smashed through the doors, smashing into the Pokeball shelves, causing the pokeballs to fall on the floor.

"Get those Pokeballs," Nurse Joy said.

"Right." 

Daniel looked at Ash to see him grab a Pokeball.

"This is war! Don't hold them! Throw them!" The orange hair said.

"Alright, Pokeball, go!" Ash threw a Pokeball to reveal a pidgey. Pidgey wasn't the strongest Pokemon, especially against a snake Pokemon like Ekans.

Ash threw another one to reveal an empty ball. He threw another one to reveal a Rattata, but it backed down.

"We won't get anywhere this way," Matt stated. "Let's go, Zuko!"Mathew said, sending out Charmander.

"Charmander!"

"Zuko, use Ember!" He called out. Zuko attacked Ekans and Koffing, knocking them to the ground for a minute. The orange hair girl then steps forward.

"You three grab Pikachu and get out of here. I'll take care of these three clowns," She said, holding a Pokeball.

Matthew returned Zuko to its Pokeball before looking at his sister, then the raven hair nodding and then ran on out of the room with Pikachu on the gurney as Ekans and Koffing followed after them. The gurney bumped into the girl's bike and caused Pikachu to wake up, but he was still weak.

Daniel looked at Jessica, his dear friend, and the rest of her team."Fine, if I can't get you to talk to me, then I force you to tell me why you didn't say bye. Go, Shelldon Tri Attack!" He said, sending out Shellder as Crystal stood close to his feet.

"Shellder!"Sheldon cried out and attacked them, freezing them with Tri Attack.

Daniel then glanced at Pikachu sitting on up as all the other Pikachu zapped him recharging his energy.

"Pikachu!"

"Pikachu!" Ash said happily.

"Do I have to do everything myself?" Meowth asked as he got in front of Jessie and James. "That mouse is cat food. Meow! Just wait, Pikachu. You are mine."

"Pika, pika, pika, pika, "Pikachu said.

"Pika? Pika?"

"Pika."

"Pika, pika power?"

"Pika!"

"So you want more power."

"Huh?  What he up to?" Matthew questioned, seeing Ash getting on the burnt bike with Pikachu hopping in it and zapping Team Rocket, causing an explosion and blowing a large hole in the roof of the Pokemon Center.

The following day after a good night's sleep and getting a final heal on ther Pokemon from last night.  Daniel and Matthew were heading out of the Pokemon Center.

"Hey, wait up!"

They turned around to see Ash running towards them.

"Hey, Ash," Matthew said.

"I see that Pikachu is doing better," Daniel commented.

"Pika, Pikachu. "

"Yeah, Pikachu is healed.  Anyway, would you like to travel together?"Ash asked.

"I don't know what do you want to do, little brother?"Daniel asks, looking at Matthew."After all, I agree to travel with you on your first journey. So your call."

"Well, Matt, do you?" Ash asked, looking at Matthew.
