Daniel and Mathew continued their journey to Viridian City when it started raining.

"Rain," Matthew said, looking up at the sky.

"Yeah, but worry, I can see the city up ahead were almost there," Daniel said, looking up head where he saw signs of buildings.

"Awesome! So we're almost there!" Mathew cheered.

"Meowth," Crystal cried, not liking the feeling of the rain hitting her.

"Relax, Crystal; we be there in a few minutes, just a little bit farther," Daniel said as he and Mathew continued down the path as they passed a sign saying Viridian City up ahead.

"Finally, we made it!" Matthew cheered as they finally arrived in Viridian City before it started coming down too hard.

"First stop the Pokemon center and then the pokemart to buy extra Pokemon medicine," Daniel said, looking at Mathew and Crystal.

"Alright," Mathew said, following his brother to the Pokemon center as they heard a female voice announce on the city intercom.

"Attention, citizens of Viridian City! Attention, citizens of Viridian City! We have reports of possible Pokémon thieves in our area! Be on the lookout for suspicious-looking strangers! Repeat. Be on the lookout for suspicious-looking--" 

"Pokemon thieves, I wonder who they could be," Matthew wondered out loud as they continued walking towards the Pokemon center.

"Who knows, there probably wanted poster around here. Anyway, as she said, we should stay on the lookout," Daniel stated, looking at Crystal, who was resting in his arms.

Matthew and Daniel are suddenly stopped by a female officer named Officer Jenny, holding them by the collar of their jacket.

"Hold it!" Officer Jenny snapped, catching Mathew and Daniel's attention.

Before Matthew or Daniel could say anything, Officer Jenny asked Daniel with a bit of a smile on her face even though she was stern, "And just where do you three think you're going with that Pokémon?"

"It's my Pokémon she exhausted!" Daniel answered."I'm taking her to the Pokemon center to get treated and to get out of the rain, officer."

"Yeah, so can we get going now and take are Pokemon to the Pokemon center," Matthew chimed in, wanting to get out of the rain.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you three might be stealing it. Just show me your ID's, and you all can go." Officer Jenny replied softly, which confused Matthew.

"ID's? Uh, we don't have any." Matthew replied, confusion in his voice. "You see, we just got here from Pallet town."

"You know you two are the third and fourth person who just came here from Pallet town," Officer Jenny commented, which made Matthew groan.

"The third and fourth means Gary was here already," Matthew muttered.

"Anyway, how about are Pokedexes? I believe those are considered are ID," Daniel suggest placing Crystal on his shoulder and pulling out his yellow Pokedex.

"Oh," Matthew said, taking out his own gave it to the officer and his older brother Daniel.

"I'm Dexter. A pokedex programmed by Professor Oak for Pokemon trainer Daniel Henderson from Pallet Town. My function is to provide Daniel with information and advice regarding Pokemon and their training. If lost or stolen, I can't be replaced," Daniel's pokedex said.

"I'm Dexter. A pokedex programmed by Professor Oak for Pokemon trainer Matthew Henderson from Pallet Town. My function is to provide Daniel with information and advice regarding Pokemon and their training. If lost or stolen, I can't be replaced," Matthew pokedex said.

"Oh, so are pokedexes our IDs," Matthew said.

"So your Daniel," Officer Jenny said, heading them back there, Pokedex and looking over at Daniel.

"Yeah, why?"

"Jake told me to tell you hi," Officer Jenny replied.

"Oh well, come on, Matt, let's go heal are pokemon and get out of the rain," Daniel said, leaving his brother towards the Pokemon center with Crystal on his shoulder.

Daniel and Matthew let out a sigh of relief as they entered the Pokemon center before it started raining harder.

"Finally, we're out of that rainstorm," Matthew said, shaking the water out of his hair.

"Yeah, I bet that makes Crystal happy she hates getting wet," Daniel stated. "There, nurse joy, let's go get are Pokemon healed, then we should call home," He said, walking towards the front desk where a pink hair nurse was sitting.

"Meowth," Crystal agreed.

Daniel and Matthew then walked over to the front desk where Nurse Joy was sitting at.

"Hello, Nurse Joy, could you please take care of my Pokemon?" Daniel asked, placing Crystal on the front desk.

"Mine as well, Nurse Joy," Matthew said, pulling out the pokeballs with his Pokemon inside.

"Yes, of course, hand over your Pokeballs, on, and I will take care of them," Nurse Joy said, holding out a tray for the pokeballs.

"Thanks," Daniel and Matthew said, heading over their pokeballs, and Nurse Joy placed Crystal in the center where there were no pokeballs in the way.

"Take a sit in the waiting area, and I will call you will your Pokemon are ready," She said, heading in the back.

Daniel and Mathew thank her again before heading over to the phone to call their parents.

"Alright, now to call home and let them know we made it to Viridian city," Daniel said, dialing home.

After a few minutes of ringing, someone picked up the phone. It was their mother.

"Hello?" A female asked, confused in her voice.

"Hi, mom, it's Matthew and me," Daniel said.

The screen then switches to a video showing their mother on the screen. So they could see and hear her voice as well.

"Daniel, great to hear from you how your journey is going and where are you.

"The journey off to a good start. We just arrived at Viridian City, Daniel replied.

"Wow, Viridian city already. It took your father three days to get there," His mother said, surprised."However, your father was always bad directions as a kid and got sidetracked a lot. He be happy to know you and brother got there safe."

"Yeah, he would," Daniel said. "I also caught a Shellder anyway; you probably want to talk with Matthew, so I will give him the phone. I should head out get supplies from the pokemart anyway."

"Shellder not a bad water type," His mom said. "Yeah, I love to talk with him now. Also, make sure your brother's supplies are well stocked as well."

"Don't worry; I will after all; I agree to guide him and take care of him. Anyway, here he is", Daniel said, heading Matthew. " Talk to mom while I gather more supplies. The rain has settled down," He said as Matthew took the phone before heading off to the pokemart.

Daniel made his way to the pokemart. He first made his way to the Pokemon food section. To buy premade Pokemon food for water types, fire, and flying times, and ingredients to make food for Crystal, his Meowth, so he has more for when he runs out of the batch he made before leaving home.

"Hm, let's see. I should also need to get more snacks and berries and a few other ingredients to make meals," He said to himself, grabbing the ingredients he needed.

To finish up his shopping, he brought a few more potions. He went and paid for everything and left the Pokemart, making his way back to the Pokemon center.

As he made his way to the Pokemon center, he heard a strange whimpering sound coming from an alley nearby.

"What is that?" He questioned, making his way to the alley where he saw a quadrupled canine laying on the ground. It has orange fur with black stripes along its back and legs. The fur on its muzzle, chest, belly, and tail is beige, as is an additional tuft of fur on top of its head.

"Let's see," He said, pointing his pokedex at the Pokemon lying on the ground whimpering.

"Growlithe, the puppy Pokemon. A fire type. A Pokemon with a friendly nature. However, it will bark fiercely at anything invading its territory," Daniel pokedex said.

"

Hey there, buddy, why don't we get you to the Pokemon center," He said, walking over to the Growlithe after putting away his pokedex.

The Growlithe whimpered, trying to back away.

"Hey, it's okay. I won't hurt you," He said, petting its head making the Growlithe calm down.

"See everything fine," He said, heading back to the Pokemon center.

Daniel arrived back at the Pokemon Center as he noticed the sun was starting to set. He arrived back at the Pokemon center just as Nurse joy called his name."Daniel and Matthew, your Pokemon are healed and ready to go."

"Thank you," Daniel said, walking over to the front desk with to his brother, who noticed him come back. "Also, could you take care of this Growlithe? I found its injury in the alley, whimpering," He headed the Growlithe over to Nurse Joy before picking Crystal up and his Shellder Pokeball.

"Of course," A Chansey them took Growlithe into the back. "Since the sun is going down, I take it that you would probably like a room to stay in for the night."

"Yes, that would be nice," Daniel said, looking at Matthew, who felt the same way.

"It will be upstairs on the left, sixth four down," Nurse Joy said, heading him a key.

"Thanks. Come on, Matthew and Crystal," He said as Crystal walked next to him with Mathew following close behind.

"Coming," Matthew said.

They arrived at a lovely room with a desk, chair, bathroom, and two bunk beds, a room suited for four people. A large window sat above the desk. Crystal jumped onto one of the beds and curled into a ball at the front of the bed.

"Alright, let's get settled in. I'll show you everything I bought; then we head down for dinner in the cafeteria or one of the restaurants here in Viridian City," Daniel said, sitting on the bed stretching his arms

"I suggest we eat here to feed the Pokemon as well," Matthew said as Daniel was digging in his bag, pulling at some of the items he brought.

After showing Matthew the Pokemon food for his Chamander and Spearow. Along with the medicine and berries. He put a few bags of the food in Matthew's backpack, along with berries and medicine, if something happens, and they get separate. He has the supplies he needs.

"Alright, now let's go eat," Daniel said, getting up from the bed and heading out of the room with Matthew following him and Crystal on his left shoulder to go downstairs to have some dinner.
