PREFACE

It was bright, it almost blinded me. My hand aimlessly floated into the bright liquidy substance, I waited for the heat to increase but I felt the heat burn my hand a little. I frowned but it was coming closer, sucking me in. I started to panic, I couldn't breathe and my hand was stuck as the glowing substance burnt it. As my vision started to blur and darken, I knew it. I was dying.

I'm Gloria Seth. Famous NASA astronaut, and astronomer. But that's not what the big deal about me was. The real thing is - I'm an immortal. A real immortal, I had about four near-death experiences, yet I had never lost my life. I had fallen from skydiving and hadn't even scratched myself, I had even been in a fire- inside the flames. I had also experienced being in an earthquake and had suffered from a tsunami. When I had turned eighteen, all scientists had started experimenting on me, testing me and researching on me. Very soon, Clara Bonsiva had found out what was wrong- or right. She proved that I had hydrocells in me, a mixture of multiple gases had mixed together in my blood- and had formed a substance that had been named Klorocells, it was a gold, glittery and soapy substance. It had been stored in my body in tiny amounts. That had made me immortal- and immune to death. Nothing could hurt me but sometimes I just wanted to be normal. So, I kept it a secret. Except for my best friend. My mom had died in the tsunami while my dad had passed away in the fire- so I shared everything with my best friend Isabel who happened to be working in NASA. Her reaction was incredibly supportive, she didn't think I was weird but she did say, "You could land a high-paying job in NASA with this. We have been searching for an astronaut who could explore space and research on it. You could try it if you want?"I was nineteen at the point and had no aspirations so I denied but as every year passed, I got more and more dedicated to space, it got to the point where I decided my career. I was twenty-three when I began my space training and was done in a span of two years. And was ready to go. The Triller mission had begun. It was incredibly secret, I was supposed to contact NASA rarely and at specific timings since space timings were different from the time at earth.I remember when I first realized I was in space, it was beautiful. Darker than I had ever imagined but the stars shone so brightly that they guided me in the right direction. I was walking- no, floating- in a place that was so silent and lonely yet I had never felt more accepted. I belonged.Almost a week had passed since I was in space, and it was one of the most phenomenal experiences. I was too scared and nervous to explore planets so I decided to just look around.All I saw was black, I was a bit disappointed. I was hoping for something really cool like another planet or something. I decided to visit Neptune and report on known planets instead. I neared the planet carefully, but I was distracted. Suddenly, I saw a flare of light from the edge of the orbit. I was confused, and a bit excited. It was incredibly blinding yet I neared it, it looked somewhat round. Beautiful. I set my foot in there but it pulled me onto the other side. It was a void.To a different universe. I sucked in some air, it was weird staying in the suit all the time. The suit was pretty unnecessary as I was immortal but it was a "safety precaution". I captured my surroundings, there were purple stars and one large orange fiery ball in the middle. It felt cold from far away like it was made of ice. I approached it and let my hand float into the liquidy round thing, it wasn't like it was going to harm me. "Ow!" my voice echoed. It was burning hot, and I tried to pull my hand out but my skin was being wrenched apart and pulled into the ball. Gasping for air, I started sobbing. It hurt so much and the pain was blinding men. I was immortal! How was this happening? I didn't care anymore, this substance was from another universe. I was stupid to think it wouldn't hurt me.My heart was racing and as my vision blurred and my head started spinning, I knew it. I was dying.
