Thalia felt threatened by the vampire in front of her, she hid behind Nathaniel's figure hoping she wasn't in trouble. It all happened so fast, the vampire was standing a few feet away from them and Nathaniel had his arms around Thalia in a protective way. She purses her lips and looked at the stranger ignoring how gorgeous he was and focusing on how threatening he looked.

"What do you want Liam?" Nathaniel hissed breaking the silence.

"I believe you have something that belongs to me" he smirked and crossed his arms while looking at Thalia.

"I don't think so, you got what was yours centuries ago and you killed her with your bare hands, you can't come in here and take what's mine".

Thalia frowned and looked at Nathaniel she wasn't his, nor was she that Liam's guy pet either, she stepped away and crossed her arms " I'm not yours Nate!"

"Thalia just drop it you don't know what we are talking about"

This caught Liam's attention as he chuckled darkly "really Nathaniel? You didn't tell her?"

"Tell me what exactly?" Thalia frowned directing her gaze at Liam.

"It's not my place to tell you this," he told her and then looked at Nathaniel "Anyway Nathaniel I'm not here for her, I mean I am but not in that way."

Nathaniel relaxed a bit and looked at his old friend suspiciously "she didn't break any rule and she's still with me".

"Don't lie to me Nathaniel, She isn't living here. She left you and she is living with a human she might hurt".

"I would never hurt my..." Nathaniel cut her off ordering her to shut up. He didn't speak the words but she heard them in her mind and she froze not really understanding what just happened.

"Oh sweetheart we all thought we would never hurt humans, but in the end we did, and you do it every day, you go to that bar and drain people and that won't happen in my town!" he yelled the last part giving an air of authority.

"What?" Nathaniel frowned and looked at Thalia "you've been feeding on humans Thalia? Why would you do that? And every day? How many?" he has his hands around her throat pinning her high on the walls her face was inches from his. He looked mad and furious and Thalia couldn't stop herself from smiling at how attractive he was like that. He was never aggressive with her and it excited her to see him in such shape.

"I never killed anyone".

"Stop smiling! I'm serious! This is serious you can't go around and kill humans! We have rules we have a council and consequences!"

As much as she enjoyed seeing Nate losing his temper, Thalia was starting to hurt so she shoved him away making him hit a wall and breaking it. She looked at Liam and approached him

"I'm not rebelling against him, I never killed a human I just had fun with them and covered my tracks. No one knows about me or us. I haven't broken any rule so I'm sorry but you can't take me, you have no right to do so." She spoke calmly yet her tone was challenging, even Thalia herself didn't know where she got her strength from to speak up like that. "Now if we are done here I have business to deal with," she said looking at Liam.

When he didn't object, she cast a look at Nathaniel who was recovering and looking at the mess she made. She smiled and left without adding anything else.

Nathaniel was sitting in his office behind his desk while Liam was across from him. They sat in silence for what seemed like hours glaring daggers at each other.

Liam was the one to break that silence "Nice little mate you have".

"Shut up Liam".

Liam grinned "but maybe she isn't as important as she should be, you were losing control of yourself just because she endangered you".

Nathaniel punched his desk cracking it a bit and looked at Liam "She endangered herself! She should have known better! If she breaks a rule and you come after her I won't let you hurt her without putting up a fight".

"Hum so she is important to you" he smirked "now I know what your weakness is".

"You wouldn't use her against me Liam! You know how these bonds work and you know what I would do for her".

"Yes I do. But she doesn't, and as a new born vampire I'm sure she has a lot of hidden desires that I could fulfill".

He winked and grinned but soon enough he found himself on the floor with Nathaniel beating him up and punching his beautiful face. Liam didn't put up a fight he just laughed before shoving him away.

"I think I hit a nerve," he said sarcastically.

"Just shut the fuck up Liam!"

"Alright alright, but hey, you should tell her".

"It's complicated she has darkness in her heart and I need to help her get it out of her before I get involved with her"

"Scared she might drag you back to that darkness Cynthia helped you get rid off?" a smile played on his lips and Nathaniel could kill the bastard but remained calm.

"Don't bring up Cynthia on your filthy tongue!"

Liam chuckled and stood up hiding the anger he felt at that moment "last warning, one human dies and she's mine".

"What would you do to her?"

"I'll find a way to punish her" he smiled evilly and left.

Nathaniel sat on his desk his head in his hands he needed to take control of her life in order to keep her safe from Liam or other council members.

Next morning, he went to school knowing he would find her there; he looked around the building and spotted her with that Mary girl. He made his way toward her and looked at her.

"What you did yesterday won't happen again" he threatened and left a shocked Thalia standing by Mary whose eyes were round and big with shock.

"What was that about?" she asked Thalia as they made their way to class.

"Never mind he's a jerk" she said knowing he heard her and smiled when a smirk appeared on his face.

They were walking down the hall toward the lockers room to change for PE when a guy came and looked at Mary and Thalia.

"Tatiana I was wondering, would you like to go to Johnny's party with me tonight?"

He was cute but Thalia had other plans for tonight, she was about to speak up when a well too familiar voice spoke up.

"I'm sorry dude but Tatiana is taken; go find yourself another date for tonight". Nathaniel was so intimidating that the guy just walked away without saying anything else.

Thalia giggled, "You have to stop doing that".

"I didn't do anything...you're taken tonight we have things to do".

"Oh? No, I have things to do and you do whatever you are used to do at night".

Thalia noticed Mary leaving them two to talk in private. She smiled and looked at him wanting to tease him a little.

"But stay away from girl's windows, you don't want to babysit other teens now do you" she gave him a teasing smile and was about to walk again when he gripped her wrist and stopped her.

"You want to know who did this to you right? I told you I'm here to help. And that's what we will do tonight, everyone will be busy at john's party and I have an idea what we could start with."

Thalia bit her lower lip thinking about it before nodding. He had a point and he was a strong vampire she could use him too.

"Fine, But I have to go home first mom and I are going shopping".

He said nothing, only chuckled at first than started to walk away but slowed down once he was near her.

He whispered in her ear in a sexy voice "you should also shop for some sexy lingerie, you know how hot you would look in them and they can always come in handy." he smirked and left her standing alone with flushed cheeks and feet unable to move.
