Thalia looked around the house and smiled at all the pictures hanged on the walls; she missed her house and missed everything in it. It gave her a warm feeling to be back again. She smiled at the sound of her mother humming as she poured her some tea, her eyes drifted to her mom's eyes, they were dancing with happiness. It actually pained Thalia to lie to her mother but she wanted to be back in her house with her so desperately that she forgot about all the morals she learned when younger.

"So Tatiana...where were you all these years? I don't even remember how I lost you?"

Thalia forced a smile on her lips as her gaze went to her mother's throat. Eva's heart was beating so hard and she could see her veins pulsating with blood, she closed her eyes trying to control her hunger and focusing on Eva's words instead.

Eva was looking at her confused and searching her face "are you okay sweetie? I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you..." her voice was pained.

Thalia opened her eyes as soon as she calmed down, "No mom, I'm sorry I was just thinking about how hard it was to come back".

She took in a deep breath before speaking again "I'm Thalia's twin; you gave me up for adoption since dad left you before you even gave birth to us. You didn't really choose between us. You haven't seen me before giving me up. My foster parents took care of me and they told me about you so I came back" she made her mother believe her words once again using her powers of mind control.

"Do you think I can stay with you for a few days? I don't feel like leaving you again".

"O...Of course Tatiana I would love that; you can stay as long as you want".

It was already Monday, and it has been a week since Thalia last saw Nathaniel. She tried to call him on many occasion but he dodged all her calls so she gave up. This whole time she stayed with her mom shopping or at home or even going with her to work and at night she would go to the bar or the woods and feed.

Thalia was trying to stop hurting humans and only feed on animals, but it was hard for her to do so. Human blood always called to her in so many ways, she loved its taste and the feel of power it gave her every time she drunk some. She had finally asked if she could stay permanently and her mom agreed but told her she needed to go to school.

So today, as she was sitting in the kitchen drinking tasteless coffee, 'Tatiana' was thinking about how her first day would be and what her former friends would say. Eva drove Thalia to school about 10 minutes before the bell rang.

Thalia walked inside the building ignoring all the stares she was getting and all the whispers and gossip she was hearing, she tried to shut them off but couldn't. She quietly made her way to the principal's office to get her schedule and assigned locker. Once the bell rang she went to her first class, which was Spanish, she rolled her eyes as she went inside the classroom and everyone fell silent. Even the teacher was looking at her oddly.

She sighed and took a step to the board "good morning, I'm Tatiana; most of you might have known my sister Thalia." She looked at the floor as if remembering her sister and a look of pain and sadness crossed her face.

God I'm getting good at this! She thought and fought the urge to smirk.

Ally shook her head and stood up "excuse me Tatiana but I don't believe you...I was very close to Thalia if she had a sister I would have known".

Thalia glared at her "oh really? Is that why you let her down when she most needed you?" she shook her head and looked at the teacher "where should I sit?"

He pointed toward James where there was an empty desk, he seemed to be in shock but she couldn't care less. Thalia made her way to James and sat next to him taking out a notebook and a pen for notes.

When the teacher started the lecture, she could feel James's eyes burning holes in her side so she looked up at him and whispered, "Aren't you James? Thalia's ex?"

"I..um yeah..I'm sorry about your sister," he said before looking away.

She could feel how remorseful he was and how much he missed her it softened her gaze but as soon as she remembered the way he treated her, anger spread through her body and she looked away furious.

At lunchtime Thalia was sitting alone when a girl came to sit next to her, she looked up and saw Mary, a girl who was in her lacrosse team. Mary was very nice and was nothing like Ally or any other girl in school, in fact, this girl was so kind and sensitive that no one in this stupid school respected her.

"Hey..." Thalia broke the silence smiling warmly at Mary.

"Hi..Sorry I just...I liked Thalia a lot and I'm sorry this happened to her".

Thalia nodded not really knowing what to say.

"I'm Mary by the way" she offered her hand smiling brightly.

"Oh..I heard about you..." Thalia smiled "Thalia really liked you too".

It seemed to have made her day because Mary kept smiling the whole time, which made Thalia relax a bit until Ally and James along with Karly came and sat on their table. Thalia gave them a 'WTF' look but they didn't pay her attention, instead they started eating before pausing and asses her with questions.

"How come we never heard of you?" Ally asked raising an eyebrow.

"You haven't heard of me but I've heard of you all..." she smirked. "You are Ally, you were the closest person to Thalia but also the first one to walk away from her so you can be more popular by hanging out with this..." she chuckled. "Sorry with Karly. Thalia's so called friend. But all Karly wanted was to get closer to that piece of sugar over here" she pointed at James, "Thalia's boyfriend."

She waved in a dismissive manner as if it wasn't important and drank some juice.

The three of them started looking at each other in silence before Karly spoke up "if you were so close to Thalia, why hasn't she ever brought you up? Or why haven't we seen you before?"

"Easy. You weren't close enough or important enough to her, that's why she never spoke of me". She shrugged and looked at Mary who giggled.

"Come on Mary, let's talk to the coach I would really like to get in that team". She stood up and gave Karly a look before smirking.

For the first time Mary spoke up looking at Karly "you should watch out she's very good at lacrosse, even better than Thalia was." she winked playfully and stood up which surprised Thalia a bit but she only smiled and walked away with Mary.

After that, the day went by smoothly no one talked to her about Thalia they all tried to make friends with her, even the students that didn't like her before she died. She didn't care though; Thalia wanted one thing. Finding out who sent those pictures of her to the whole school and give Karly what she deserved. Other than that, she wanted nothing to do with anyone, but in order to get what she wants she has to make friends and so she did.

Next morning, as she walked down the hall with Mary she could hear girls talk about a new hot guy she didn't feel as excited as they did because after seeing someone like Nathaniel she doubted any guy could be as hot, but she still wanted to meet him.

She was looking at James kissing Karly as she walked when she bumped into something. Catching his scent Thalia panicked and looked up at him "Nate" she said almost breathlessly.

"Tatiana" he gave her a genuine smile that melted in her clothes.

How did he even know about my fake name? She asked herself frowning.

"You two know each other?" Mary looked back and forth at the pair a bit confused.

"Yes...we are very close in fact." Nathaniel answered Mary smiling. "I'm Nathaniel, you can call me Nate". He winked at the girl and chuckled.

"I...I'm Mara...I mean Mary" Mary stuttered and felt so embarrassed about it.

Thalia rolled her eyes, why does he have to use his sexiness with a girl like Mary? She groaned and went back to thinking if she had told him she was here.As if reading her mind Nathaniel talked again answering her inner question.

"I couldn't stay away from you so long so I came to your mom's house and overheard you enrolled in here, so here I am". He smiled coyly.

Thalia nodded but grabbed his hand "we need to talk!" she dragged him out knowing all eyes were on them, Nate was laughing but she didn't know why.

Once out of earshot she looked at him frowning "Why are laughing?" he was frustrating her and he must have known because he kept laughing.

She playfully hit his chest "why are you really here Nathaniel?"

"I missed you" he stroked her cheek but she pushed him away.

"No you didn't, if you had you would have answered my calls! Now tell me. What are you doing here?" she noticed he had cut his hair which made him look even younger than before. He seemed like an 18 years old teenager.

He chuckled "fine! I came here to make sure you don't blow up your cover and threaten our race. I can't allow this, if you do that than we both are dead. The council wouldn't like the fact that I created a vampire who rebelled against me and went back to live with humans. They would ask for your death. That's why I'm here."

Thalia felt as someone stabbed her in the back, she leaned on the wall behind her and looked at the ground "I won't expose us; I just want to find out who did this to me and then leave".

"What about your mom? You're going to make her forget again. You know someday she might remember everything".

Thalia snapped her head toward him, her eyes were an icy green filled with anger she pushed him away "don't bring my mom into this!"

"Whoa Thalia come on you need to control your anger, I'm talking for your own good!"

She snarled at him but he pushed her and pressed her against the wall his lips inches from hers.

"You know you might hurt your mom and you don't want this. But taking it out on me won't solve it so stop that right now before I snap your neck"!

His tone was threatening and anyone who heard him would have believed his words, but Nathaniel knew he would never do it. His eyes kept lingering on her red lips and she might have noticed because she closed the distance and kissed him lightly and hesitantly.

Nathaniel pulled away as the bell rang "come on let's go...I'm in all your classes"

"Great" she muttered as she walked with him and frowned as he laced his fingers with hers. She looked up at him and saw the smirk on his face.

"What are you smirking about?"

He shrugged and chuckled "you're hot when you're angry".

She giggled as her cheeks heated up; she hit his shoulder playfully and walked to her Spanish class.

Thalia knew she couldn't do anything about Nathaniel being here, she did miss him though and she had a feeling it was a good thing to have him on her side. She wanted so bad to taste his lips again but shook the thought away. In all their classes, she kept looking at him in a dreamy way, which he noticed because he kept teasing her about it. When classes were over he took her to his place so they could talk and plan how they will find who did this to her.

As they entered his mansion, Nathaniel felt something wrong, he picked up a familiar scent but he couldn't decide whom it belonged to. He walked inside keeping Thalia behind him and stopped briskly as he saw Liam.

Liam was a very old and powerful vampire; in fact, he was part of the council and was merciless. He would kill any vampire that broke any rule without blinking an eye, but what Nathaniel didn't understand was why he was here right now.

"You're finally home!" Liam said sitting down and getting comfortable while Nathaniel crossed his arms and looked at him questioningly.
