Chapter 9: Yelling

Hey, gurls!

So, not many reactions last chapter, but that's okay. It happens.

Anywhoo, let's keep going, shall we?

*Scott POV*

Pizza has got to be the world's best creation.

When Mitch had asked me about it, I had been suspicious, but when I tried it...

By the Great Spirit, it was amazing.

I looked up from my seventh piece of pizza to see Mitch watching me.

"What?" I asked, confused.

"Nothing," he replied, shaking his head and looking to the side.

I frowned, but continued to eat.
I knew that something was wrong.

He'll tell me when he wants to, I decided.

"So!" Mitch said, interrupting my thoughts, "I've decided what I'm going to do with you."

I raised an almost invisible eyebrow.

"'Do with me'?" I asked.

"Yeah," he said, "I mean, you know, I can't just let you go. You're a Light Being. You're my enemy. I can't have you spreading... peace around."

He said the word peace like it was a curse word.

"Besides," he added, "if I release you, another Demon would just ensnare you again."

I blushed slightly, remembering Alex.

"So, what are you going to do?" I asked, slightly nervous.

He looked at me for a moment, then he snapped his fingers, and two dead-eyed servants entered the room.

He spoke to them in an unfamiliar language, and they bowed and left the room.

They returned a couple seconds later, carrying several bags.

"What are those for?" I asked, my nerves growing.

"Don't worry, it's nothing dangerous," he replied, and I was surprised at the tone of his voice.

It almost seemed like he cared.

He's a Demon, I told myself, but at the same time, I felt a wave of trust wash over me.

Mitch opened up the bags, pulling out several items: a pair of black jeans, a black tank top, black cowboy-ish boots, a black leather jacket, black gloves, two silver bracelets, and...

Wait a second, was that... a collar???

"Mitch..." I started to say, but he interrupted me.

"No arguing. Just put them on."

"But..."

"Scott."

The look on his face told me that he wasn't kidding.

I knew that I shouldn't wear these clothes, but I also knew that I didn't have any other choice.

"Can I at least change in the bathroom?"

☆☆☆☆☆☆

I looked at myself in the mirror, surprised.

I had been suspicious, especially when I had discovered the jeans were a bit tight in the legs. (I was able to put them on, though.)

The outfit wasn't one that the Elders would have approved of.

But it looked nice.

Unfortunately, my glow was completely covered by the black clothes.

I frowned a bit at the bracelets and the collar, which were still on the counter.

Then I heard a knock on the door, and Mitch called, "Are you decent?"

"Yes!" I called back, and he came into the bathroom.

He looked at me, and his eyes widened.

"Wow..." he said.

I looked down at the floor, blushing slightly.

"Is it that bad?" I asked, feeling like I'd done something wrong.

"No," he replied, "It's perfect."

I looked back up at him, and I saw that he was smiling.
It wasn't like those smirks he'd been wearing since I'd gotten here; this was a genuine smile.

It made me smile as well.

He picked up the bracelets and the collar, looking at me.

"I... um..." I said, blushing again, which made him chuckle.

"Here," he said, and he helped me put them on.

In the process, his hands brushed against my skin, and I shuddered a bit at how cold his skin was.

At least, I think that's why I shuddered.

"So..." I said, "what is this for, exactly?"

"Well, I needed to have an excuse for being in the company of a Light Being," he replied, "So, I decided that you're going to be my companion."

His words almost made me choke.

"What..."

"Calm down, Light boy, it's not like that," he said, "Besides, if it was, believe me, I wouldn't be dressing you in this outfit."

"Would you stop calling me Light Boy?" I said, starting to get a bit irritated, "I have a name."

"I know," he said, grinning, "but I like tormenting you like that."

"Then how about I start calling you Demon Boy?"

"You will do no such thing!"

"Then QUIT CALLING ME LIGHT BOY!"

Both of us froze in shock.

I had never yelled at anyone in my entire life.

Until now.

"Did you just yell at me?"

"Wow," I said, my voice sounding very strange to me, "Did it take you all day to figure that out?"

Mitch's eyes widened.

"What the f*** happened to you?" he asked.

"I don't know," I said, wondering the same thing myself, "I don't know..."

A/N: Looking back, I realize: that chapter made no sense whatsoever.

But whatever.

Hope y'all like it.

BTW, next chapter MIGHT include some other people besides Light Beings and Demons.

Luv you all! *blows kisses*
