꧁Part Four꧂

Norman, Emma, Gilda, Don and I were all in the woods planning to climb on top of the wall to see what was there.

Norman and Emma would climb the wall. Ray is currently distracting Mom and giving her false information.

Don and Gilda are going to distract the other kids and Sister Krone, and I am back up in case Mom gets away from Ray. We started walking through the woods as we talked about the plan when Sister Krone appeared.

"Do you need something?" Norman asked her, keeping his cool. "I saw it, you know. That's right, children! I saw everything! All of you were talking last night. In. the. dining. hall!" she exclaimed as she made all these weird movements and flailed her arms around like a malfunctioning robot.

Gilda and Don looked kinda scared but Norman and Emma just looked slightly ticked off which was a weird look on them. "The ones who know the secret about this house are Norman, Emma, Ray, Gilda, Don, and Y/N! Six of you total! " Sister Krone announced.

During this whole thing my face showed no emotion and I didn't care enough to pretend. "So, you wanna join forces?" she asked as she got very close to Emma and Gilda's faces.

"Join...forces?" Gilda repeated Krone's question. "It's fine you guys, no need to worry. We'll hear you out." Norman stated. "Ya cause I was totally terrified the whole time." I said sarcastically under my breath as I rolled my eyes.

"Excellent, it's best if we cooperate. SO we can each achieve our goals. You all want to break out of here, and I want to eventually become Mom of this house. The plan is to eventually drag Isabella from her position. then sease it for myself." Sister Krone explained.

"You wanna be a mom?!" Don deadpanned. "To prove that I mean it, you kids aren't the only ones who wanna break free from this." Krone confirmed as she pulled down the collar of her dress to reveal her numbers from when she was at a farm.

Everyone else gasped and I fake gasped hoping they wouldn't be able to tell I was faking it. "Seriously, I figured everything out when I was six! Is this information really that surprising?!' I thought.

"Are you aware of the management system here? Girls who meet certain conditions and live until the age of 12 are usually presented with two paths. Continue and die or aim to be a mom." she explained.

"What conditions?" Don questioned. "High test scores and the mom's recommendation. Meet those two requirements, and it's possible to survive without escaping. If you're a girl." Sister Krone answered. "Only girls?" Gilda inquired.

"Although I don't recommend it. They make it so you're never allowed to leave the premises." she advised. When she turned around and looked at us her dress was slightly unbuttoned and she held it down slightly for us to see a huge scar going down the center of her chest.

"What is that?!" Gilda commented. "There's a chip inside, and, with it, if you step one foot outside the farm, and electric current triggers and causes your heart to stop. But at the same time if your heat stops for some other reason it acts as a transmitter that notifies the higher-ups." Krone rambled.

"We were right about not being able to kill them." Norman stated. "Because of this chip, I can only live on the farms. That's why I wanna live in the best way this place has to offer, even if it's fake. Being a mom lets you feel human. But to achieve that, I have to remove Isabella.

If all of you escape, she'll be the one blamed for it. Trust me, I won't stop you if you make a run for it. It actually benefits me." Krone reasoned. "You won't ship us out?" Gilda asked being the naive little green bean that she is.

"Of course not." she verified. "Hold on," I cut in on all of this. "If we got out it might get rid of Isabella but what makes you think you won't also get blamed. Plus if you stop us from escaping instead of Isabella you'd probably get a nice reward for that.

How do we know that we can trust you? Even if you give us information you can still ship us out in the end. There is no way to make us trust you therefore you are of no use." I speculated, taking everyone by surprise.

Sister Krone thought about it for a second then said, "I suppose your right about that. Guess you'll just have to trust me blindly. You might not think you need me but you didn't consult your friends. You're too independent. You might even be a great mom." she theorized.

Now everyone had wide eyes from her last statement. "They're not my friends." I responded trying to keep my temper in check.

Now they were all looking at me as if I just commited a murder. "What?" I asked shamelessly. "Let's cooperate!..... How about it?" Sister Krone exclaimed which got the attention off me and thank god cause I was starting to get uncomfortable.

Sister Krone reached her hand out for Norman to shake and Norman reached up to shake her hand but Emma stopped him.

"Norman, wait a sec. I wanna make sure of something." Emma interjected. "What is it? Krone quizzed. "How can we be sure your not gonna betray us in the end?" Emma challenged. Dumb girl. She WILL betray us in the end.

Emma had a fierce fearless look on her face as she started at Krone. "Are you saying you don't trust me?" she queried. "Answer!" Emma snapped.

"All right, if Ray goes and tattles on me to Mom, you can destroy me. Meanwhile, if I tell Mom that Ray's acting as a double agent, then all of you will go down with him. So you see, neither of us will snitch, because we can't. Do you trust me now...?"

Not a bad cover up actually, I'll give Krone that one. It should be good enough for Emma but if it were me she would never gain my trust. Not that this is really a problem for me since I'm not actually escaping and neither are they, not that they know that...

"Ya, sure." Emma answered, still staring Sister Krone down. "I guess we have a deal then." Krone said as she extended her hand to shake Norman's.

"I know a lot of info about this place that may be helpful for you to know, and I'm willing to share it with you all. It'd be proof of my goodwill, if you're interested. Why don't you drop by my room tonight?" she offered and walked away before we could comply.

-----

"She was one of us and yet this is just so she can have a better life...What a monster, she doesn't care if any of the kids here live or die at all." Emma complained. "She said she won't ship us though." Gilda compromised.

"What she meant was she can't. If she really wanted us to escape, she would've quietly helped us. The only reason she's showing us her cards is to try to gain out trust." Norman explained. He's smarter than I give him credit for.

"What's the point in doing that?" Don questioned. Honestly, I'm surprised he hasn't gotten shipped out yet at his age. If he's alive shouldn't he be smart?!

"It's all so she can get solid evidence of our rebellion. In other words, she's in a position where the higher-ups won't trust her unless she has proof. She doesn't have the power to ship us out like Mom does." Norman ranted.

"Evidence...?" Gilda mumbled. "Wait! What happens if she finds the rope we hid in the tree?!" Don puzzled worriedly. "It's fine. Explaining the rope is easy. We can say we were gonna use it for a game, but if we--" Norman got cut off.

"If she finds the tools to break the trackers, then we're done for." Ray continued. "That kind of evidence would be hard to explain." Norman stated.

"Don't worry, I'm not gonna let that happen. I'm not even finished making it yet, anyway." Ray defended. This whole conversation was getting boring so I got out the book I was currently reading and picked up from where I left off.
