Prologue

Disclaimer:

I don't owe the characters of this story, this doesn't reflect how the life of BTS is like. This book is also entirely my idea, so if there's a book that just so happens to have this same idea, it's entirely coincidental. I have full copyrights of this book, so plagiarism is not tolerated at all. This story will also contain many difficult topics such as; dysfunctional family environment, domestic abuse, harsh language, minor suicide attempts, so please be careful while reading this book, I want everyone to be okay, so if you are unable to read at any moment, please do so.

I also want to add that this book has extremely triggering scenes involving dysfunctional relationships, domestic violence and abuse. Somethings that the character will say and do can be very triggering. You will feel frustrated, upset, and personally impacted along the journey. Read this story at your own risk, but just know you can stop reading at any point in time.

Warning:
Avoid reading the comments.

The comment section can be very emotionally triggering for those who went through domestic violence, family violence, drug addiction, or have explosive behaviors due to trauma. Sometimes certain opinions that others express can hurt, I can speak for myself, and I don't want those who went through any of the above to feel emotionally attacked or put down in any way by what's being said in the comments.

There's also spoilers to certain books in the comments. It's really hard finding all of them and deleting them so it's a process, so if you're planning to read some of my other work, avoid reading the comments.

We also barely get Taehyung's perspective in the book until more so the very end. It's a long book, be patient. There's always two sides to a situation, so be patient. This story is mainly from Jungkook's perspective, but we will see hints and bits of everyone's intake here and there.

I'll say this now that this story is very personal to me. It's not only voices from my experiences, but experiences others went through in life. Perhaps not real to the last dime, but certain situations, emotions, behaviors, or scenes do reflect real scenarios from people I know or what I went through. So if you're looking for a quick paced story surrounding love or being in love so quickly or a expect to only be Taekook while not considering the other characters that can be impacting their lives too, this is definitely not the story for you.

Don't let the idea of shipping get to you. I have read so many comments already saying 'I thought this was a Taekook story' 'I don't think this is a Taekook story anymore' 'Where's Taekook?' And I perfectly understand if you came here for Taekook. But this story isn't just Taekook, and I don't want it to go be just seen as just a ship story. This story is deep and very raw about emotions and certain aspects of life. Please also take into consideration on the plot and storyline that I worked hard in putting together, not just the fact that it's a Taekook story.

Note:
So the whole ride of this story is going to be very slow paced. It won't always be focused on Taekook together but it will also focus on their own surroundings and lives as themselves as individuals, also their way of interact with other people as well.

I hope you enjoy this story!! :)

The first day of school in a new place is never the easiest, nor the hardest day of one's life. It almost feels like a new experience, yet this type of experience is anything but new for Jungkook- fortunately. Starting classes once again in a different school really doesn't give him much anxiety, especially since he prefers the nerves of the first day rather than living with his parents for the rest of his life while he commuted.

No, living in campus is the best decision he could've made.

It was the only decision actually, literally.

A solid shiver runs down Jungkook's spine to the mere thought of those people, specifically his parents. Finally, he won't have to deal with his drug addict mother and alcoholic father for a while, even though there's that the tingle of paranoia of how he isn't completely free from them, and one day, they will find him.

Jungkook was lucky enough to have gotten a scholarship to this new university, away from Busan where his problems settled back. Besides, what does ease his mind is the reassurance from the people who are like a real family to him still making sure he's safe - even if he's far away.

No one knows where he is, and it'll remain that way.

This is a new beginning, a new chapter in his life. Even though he's slightly unease to what type of welcome he may get here, he's ready to face it with what he's got.

He's been taught enough about the Seoul life, so it's not like he's completely oblivious of the difference in dialect and mannerism compared to his neighborhood.

Time to put on a big smile and be a good boy, for once.

So, with one final prep talk with himself, Jungkook forms a small smile on his cherry lips and approaches the building of the large dormitory. It's the first day of move in, and Jungkook couldn't help but feel slightly excited to be in such a new environment than the one he was in before. The air even feels different. Everything about Seoul feels new to him, and perhaps that's because it is.

As Jungkook goes through the main entrance, instantly he is bombard with a mass full of students with their own baggage, waiting for their key to their dorm. For a moment Jungkook felt a little self-conscious since all he has is a duffle bag with him and a backpack - not much to take while being in a rush before his parents got home.

Many students here have luggage after luggage full of things for the big move. This is definitely a bit humiliating. However, he masks that discomfort with a small smile and approaches one of the boys with the purple uniform shirt - a student volunteer he assumes.

The man instantly looks his way when Jungkook approached him, shifting a wide smile on his pretty lips, "Hi, newbie right?"

Jungkook chuckles embarrassedly, "Too obvious?"

Now it was the other man's turn to chuckle in return, "Just a little. I'm Park Jimin."

Jungkook shakes his hand, "Jeon Jungkook," He says and looks at the crowd of people, shuffling his feet slightly, "Well.... I'm slightly confused. What do I have to do?"

It didn't take much effort for Jimin to shove his way through the crowd and reach the front desk, filled with other volunteered students and mentors trying to get as much students in as possible. He goes around and yanks one of the packets, eyes roaming the list before finally finding Jungkook's name and grabs his key and rushes back towards the lost man, who's still standing aimlessly by the entrance with is pink hoodie and white skinny jeans.

The second Jungkook sees the man again, waving his key around in victory, he hiccups a giggle and follows the man through the maze of students until they reached the elevator. It wasn't as awkward being in each other's presence as Jungkook expected, especially with Jimin's perky personality in his attempt to always make a smile gush on Jungkook's lips so he could feel a little more comfortable.

He probably feels Jungkook's nerves. This is clearly not Jungkook's scene, and despite Jungkook trying so hard to conceal his obvious discomfort to not fitting in, Jimin sees it clearly - which was more motivation for him to ease a conversation to loosen him up.

To which, it worked.

Jimin himself is not bad looking through Jungkook's eye; Slim male with a mix between silver and blonde soft hair to the side, melanin skin with wide eyes that shrinks to crescent moons when he smiles to Jungkook's own failing attempt in being funny.

Jungkook's not a funny guy at all, but Jimin being kind would always giggle to his attempt in being casual.

Any person would feel a sense of pride calling Jimin theirs; Whether it's in a relationship or friendship, however Jungkook knew better than to believe a pretty smile. He doesn't know Jimin, who he is or how he may be, so he shouldn't jump to the 'he looks harmless' attitude so quickly.

However, Jimin is being nice to him so that means something, or maybe it's because he's new.

Here goes Jungkook overthinking, great.

Well, after living in such a dark world with shitty people, having someone like Jimin just pop in is definitely unusual. The poor man would've gotten eaten alive by those wolves back in Busan, where they pray on innocent boys into doing shitty things.

Luckily for Jungkook, he got away from that, for his own sake.

Thinking of Jimin in an environment like that sent shivers down Jungkook's spine.

The elevator suddenly stops and Jimin skips over down the hallway of doors happily. Jungkook eyes the way the male giggles with his every step, almost as if in a daze of feeling like a little kid again, up until he stops in front of a door to the far end.

R18123

"Raw."

Jimin practically snaps his neck back, an eyebrow raised in question to Jungkook's sudden statement when he reached him just as he thrusts the key inside the lock.

"Excuse me?"

For a moment Jungkook just stares at the number, a whirl of numbers and letters circulating his head before he blinks and instantly felt a sense of panic.

Great, now Jimin will think he's a geek for numbers, in which is not a lie.

But he doesn't know what people here find approachable. Back in Busan, those who knew how to code numbers were a genius.

For his sake, Jungkook went for being honest.

So he makeshifts a nervous smile, "Raw, 18-1-23, it means raw in the cypher language."

The smaller man stares at him intently before crossing his arms over his chest, looking at him with a hidden gleam in his eyes, "Are you a Computer Science major or something?"

Once again did Jungkook swallow down his nerves, "Uh no, Art major. I want to be an artist."

Jimin's odd gaze transforms to an erratic gleaming smile, "Really! Wow, it'll be nice to have an art major roommate for a change."

Wait what?

Everything inside Jungkook froze, a slow smile forming his lips to the preppy boy's wide smile as he opens the door, "Welcome to the best year of your life roomie!"
