__________

Maybe the crying all night wasn't an exaggeration.

The second Jungkook got out of the car when they arrived to a familiar meadow by the outskirts of Seoul, too far from the city, a place surrounded by trees with a perfect vast field of grass, he burst into tears.

This place feels safe.

A perfect place to scream and cry no matter how worn out Jungkook's body gets..

To throw fists to fight the air in aggravation.

A perfect place to just...... Feel safe to let go.

Woosung didn't say a word when Jungkook collapsed to his knees, weeping quietly on the grass to his broken heart, he only got to his knees as well and held him in his arms as his young ravenette cried his heart out.

It felt like they spent a while like this, just Jungkook rambling and screaming to the air, removing his pain from his chest to beg for peace just once.

Just for once he wishes to breathe life without feeling so hurt.

This isn't even about Taehyung anymore. The guy didn't even know about Jungkook's feelings for him so he doesn't blame any of this pain onto him, it's about everything in general.

About life.

No matter how much he tries to move forward or live for himself, he feels so alone and strained.

His heart just feels so broken and it's tiring just forcing to be enthusiastic all the time. It's hard not to worry about his sister back home. It's hard brushing back that maybe his father is a second away from finding him and Yeosang to take them back.

It's so hard living without the past being somehow an issue to him. Whether it's nightmares, worries, hidden rage, the past comes back somehow.

It all feels so overwhelming and Jungkook just feels like he can't handle it!

It's too much.

"It's okay Bambi, it's safe here," Woosung cooes quietly, pecking the back of his head, "You can let it out."

But Jungkook is just so tired of feeling like this that he doesn't even want to cry anymore. He's tired of it. This sense of feeling drained is just so exhausting and painful to bear.

He just wants to stop crying already.

However being in Woosung's arms just made it a little easier. It didn't feel like he had to cry, that it was okay to stop feeling so strong all the time and count on someone to lean onto, without being afraid to fall into a whole cycle of pain.

That no matter what.....He had his anchor right there beside him.

Just thinking about that cooled down Jungkook's hectic emotions, leaving him to sniffle alone his sobs. Woosung continued to hold him calmly but when he sensed Jungkook relaxing slowly he lets go and gets to his feet.

Jungkook follows him with his puffy eyes, glancing to his extended hand out to him, still not saying a word but his delicate eyes was enough for Jungkook to understand that he'd there for him no matter what.

And without a doubt he takes it.

They walk farther more into this empty field, reminiscing those moments of their younger selves running around this same field, squealing in complete joy as they chased each other in their cute games and tangle themselves in each other's arms with the complete young love glowing behind their sparkling eyes.

Back then when life felt infinite.

Now they're older, walking down this same field with not the same love that they use to have but with a more mature mindset than how these little kids use to think back in the days.

They thought about forever, now they think of temporary.

Like this moment they have together, knowing it's just going to be temporary.

Once upon a time they would be laying in this familiar grass; Jungkook would have his head on Woosung's chest while watching him point to different constellations in the night sky, both of their gasps or giggles whenever they'd see a shooting star or a funny looking cloud in the day that looked quite amazing to gawk at.

Now they're laying down the grass but not close anymore. There's a stupid bottle as barrier between them that they both know they shouldn't remove. It's silent but it's comforting. There's so much words yet so much silence, they somehow managed to communicate through it in their own string of connection.

The same careless conversations of the constellations came up from the whispers of the air. Many of them Jungkook knew by heart but decided to stay quiet about it, just to hear Woosung's content tone in his voice as he speaks in complete amaze, almost as though he's seeing those stars for he first time all over again. They're not holding hands anymore, but they would brush ghostly touches as they take turns taking hits of the wine bottle.

Before putting it back as their barrier between them.

"That's not the Virgo constellation!" Jungkook retorts to him, his mind feeling fuzzy as he points to the sky over the other constellation, "That's the one."

"No it's not!" Woosung whines back, eyes blood shot red now from the alcohol, pointing to the stars, "You don't have your glasses! I can see perfectly fine!"

This somehow made Jungkook bubble a chuckle as he remembers he didn't have his glasses on and his vision is shit now from the alcohol, just what he needed.

"Oh right," And his hand falls to the mostly empty bottle now to take another swing, but he found Woosung's hand on the bottle instead.

His body instantly shivers to the contact.

Woosung's skin is warm, such a major difference to Jungkook's cold fingertips from this crisp cold air. It's odd really because no one made a move to pull away, yet it felt tender, almost as though they were equally afraid to move away.

Fuck the bottle.

Boldly Jungkook grabs Woosung's hand and interlaced their fingers together, smiling softly to the warmth it gave his chest as he looks back up at the sky.

Ha, he's not cold anymore.

"Bambi, your hands are cold," Woosung whispers, pouting slightly before stumbling up to his feet, "Come, let's go to the car. It's only going to get colder and you might get sick."

Jungkook frowns to this as Woosung drags drags him to his feet as well, "But the stars-"

"The sunroof exists for a reason babe," Woosung snickers but suddenly drops his smile, blinking a few times before realizing what he just said and the fact that he's still holding Jungkook's hand.

By now Jungkook's heart slightly tugged, just a tad to those soft yet familiar words, but instantly Woosung shakes his head, letting him go, "I'm sorry, just uh.... Come, it's cold."

But I like the cold.....

With a more deeper frown Jungkook grabs the nearly empty bottle of wine and finishes it off as he follows Woosung to his car, watching as he turns it on but pushes the backseats down, giving enough room for the two to lie down below the sunroof. So they take off their shoes and put it in a corner of the trunk as they slide inside and close the door to block out the cold, surprisingly having enough room for the two to just stare up at the sky through the window above them

Feeling at ease with the soft music playing in the background.

This moment just felt complete and utter bliss, maybe too comfortable. That tension or type of awkwardness didn't exist at they stay a little longer by their presence and it felt very nice.

It's good to feel as though things didn't turn out so horribly between each other, that they can still feel at peace just with their presence along.

However, peace wasn't the only thing lingering the air, but also a fatal poison that drenched inside Woosung's soul.

Just begging for it to escape.

To..... Confess.

"Jungkook, can I be honest with you?" Woosung says quietly, eyes still staring at the stars that helped him cool down too. Jungkook turned to his side when he heard his voice, focusing on him instead.

"Of course."

Woosung doesn't say anything for a moment, more so thinking his words over, but then let's out a shakily breath, "I'm.... I'm scared.... For my future. For my life Jungkook."

There's a slight quiver in his voice that he tried to control, but it's failing. One could hear the feeling of slight paranoia in his tone, sense the fear that's lacing through every letter of every phrase.

And this slightly unease Jungkook because Woosung isn't one to feel like this, "Why?"

Another heavy breath eases out Woosung's lips and his lips wobbles, "Jungkook.... I want you to promise me that you will always remember that I love you, so much. Okay? Promise me that no matter what happens, you will be happy. I know you and Taehyung are in a tough spot right now but you two will work it out somehow, you both deserve to make each other happy. So please... Promise me you won't give it up for anything in this world, please."

Woah that was definitely not something Jungkook was expected or prepared for.

Why is he saying this?

It sounds like.... No.

No.

Jungkook reaches a hand over to wipe a tear from his smooth skin, craning Woosung's face to look at him with his sensitive eyes.

"Woosung, why are you telling me this?"

He doesn't say anything in response instantly but the tears gliding down his cheeks spoke for themselves. Jungkook scoots closer to him, plopping on an elbow to look down at him, but Woosung only breaks a heavy frown and raised a hand to cup over Jungkook's on his cheek, rubbing a thumb over his knuckles.

"Things are getting worse back home," Woosung admits, blinking away his tears, "So many of Iodine's children are dying because of Segas or some stupid asshole in the streets and we d-don't know what to do," He whimpers quietly and leans to sit up and runs a stressed hand through his caramel hair in frustration, "Thats why..... If you ever hear anything that I-I.... Please just.... Don't-"

Jungkook sits up and grasps his jaw, tears now in his own eyes as he stares down at Woosung's hysterical orbs, "No, you're going to survive, o-okay?" Jungkook says confidently despite his own voice cracking, "Promise me you'll survive. Just avoid being around the area, stay home, or just stay here! Just don't say that one day I will wake up and you're gone.... Don't say that to me.... You're going to be okay, okay? Promise me you'll survive Woosung."

There's a very heavy look of doubt in the elder's eyes. He knows that's something he can't promise his beloved ravenette. The patterns of the deaths is so random and unpredictable. No one knows why this is happening, especially Iodine who's tired of having mental break downs because of this. They have been staying in their territory, so why is Segas pushing in? It just makes no sense. Money is becoming close to nothing for everyone and people are starving for food in these urban areas.

There's no certainty for anyone's life anymore.

Even Lisa's, but she's bearing through. Mostly since Woosung is with her to keep her safe, even though he's stressing about his own life too.

However, he still managed to nod once again to Jungkook, just for his sake, and let out a heavy breath, "I promise, I'll be okay Bambi."

And he meant it, he will do his best to survive back home no matter what.

There's a heavy emotion lingering the air now. So heavy yet so delicate and Jungkook found himself leaning forward, letting his drunken urges take over this moment.

But a hand on his chest stops him.

"Jungkook don't," Woosung whispers quietly, still managing to be respectful despite the state he's in too, "You're hurt and drunk. Doing this will probably only mess things up more for you."

There's a soft way Jungkook is staring at him, letting more of his tears stream down his cheeks as he lets the weight of the world escape his shoulders, "Just for one night, can we just act like we're okay?"

Woosung could see the tender yet hurt touch in his gaze and his hand on his chest slowly drops, letting Jungkook close the gap between them and clasp their lips together.

Since the past five years that they had been together, this kiss felt different from every kiss they had shared before.

There's a sense of nostalgia and sincerity while their lips molded together, almost as though it picked up the broken pieces of their hearts and slowly put it back into its place together.

At this moment, they didn't feel broken.

Just for this moment, they felt infinite again.

Woosung climbs to Jungkook's lap and lets the ravenette dig his fingers to his back, dragging down his to reach the end of his hoodie to let his hand travel to his warm skin, that fluttered with goosebumps in reaction the second Jungkook's cold fingertips met his bare skin.

No matter how much the heat of this moment began to build up, that hint of nostalgia and longing still lingered behind it. Everything still felt the same; Woosung's body would shiver the same way it always did when the Jungkook's tongue piercing stroked against his tongue, Jungkook still moved his thumb over the skin of his hips the way to show a bit of reassurance in a comforting away to this moment. Woosung's fingers threading his raven hair still left Jungkook feels calm yet breathless, falling so how it swayed him to almost a lullaby of tranquility.

It just.... Felt the same.

And it hurt because this will be their last moment like this.

To finally..... Let their chapter go.

Jungkook gently lays him back and hovers over his body, wanting to pour out into the kiss how much Woosung's existence means to him. That no matter what, he's always going to be someone special in his life.

That he will always be his Bambi.

The passionate way Woosung kisses him back just shows he has not moved on from his feelings, still holding them tight to his delicate heart but knowing he's going to have to let it go.

After all, Jungkook has now found someone who will stay, even if they both don't realize it yet.

Suddenly Woosung pulls away, slightly panting for air  as he realized just how too into the moment they were getting, "Lets not.... Get too far Bambi, okay?"

Oh shit...

Jungkook blinks at him and instantly shakes his head upon realizing the position they are just in, "O-Oh I didn't mean for this to get... I mean I don't... Uh.... My intention isn't to-"

Woosung chuckles admiringly at him and pecks another kiss to his lips before bringing him down to his chest, snuggling Jungkook into his arm, "My precious Bambi, let's get some sleep. We have a long hangover day tomorrow."

There's that soft feeling again, being in Woosung's tender embrace like this. It's not even speaking as an ex lover, but Woosung embrace can fill anyone with that sense of belonging and hope. Especially as they hold each other like this, tightly, as though to fill each other with that sense of hope.

It felt..... Warm.

Jungkook felt warm.

So he smiled softly and wraps his arms around Woosung's waist, snuggling his face to his chest. But then he realized the car is still on so he reached over to quickly turn it off and went back to cuddling with his ex lover.

Who still felt warm in his arms.

___________
A/N:
So this chapter was incredibly soft :')

I hope nobody got annoyed or upset with this chapter, especially since I know this is a Taekook book. The relationship between the two is a slow process, it won't happen instantly and it will take time.  But I really loved this chapter. It showed a lot of the type of relationship they use to have up until now. This is more like their moment of closure, where they're going to let each other go as lovers, moving on to friendship. Almost like a goodbye moment. It's really soft and tender and I just really loved this chapter.

Let's see how next chapter will go!!

I PURPLE YOU!! <33
