66: New Roommate?
Cinnamon Girl - Lana Del Rey
_______
"No."
Jimin looks at Yeosang with distraught face while Jungkook didn't seem at all surprised, meanwhile Taehyung looks kinda uncomfortable just sitting there as he looks at his hands on the table.
"Come on! It won't be so bad."
Yeosang will not fall for those puppy eyes this time.
"I said no," He huffs to Jimin, arms crossed, "If that's the case than l'll just stay with my sister at Busan."
Christmas hasn't ended yet and this was Jimin's big surprise for the night.
To have Taehyung move in with them as well for their new apartment.
Jungkook didn't mind, obviously after knowing Taehyung's living situation with his brother going off to live with his mother now, but Yeosang was not having it.
They're really testing his patience with this guy.
Besides, the only reason they're asking Yeosang is because wherever Jungkook goes, he goes so it's not like he has an option. However, Jimin and Jungkook want to start sealing whatever cold blood Yeosang and Taehyung have, so this could help improve that.
Yeosang isn't going anywhere, so it's Taehyung.
They gotta live with it.
"Please," Jimin whines, pouting his lips, "You're not even going to be his roommate! Just live in the same place!"
So, this apartment they're moving into the next academic year only consists of two rooms and two bathrooms. Why? It's cheaper and they're all not that rich to get a room for each person.
Except for Taehyung but he's not about to put his financial status out there since no one will let him pay unless it's divided evenly.
With that being said.... They're all going to be sharing a room..... Two per room.
They just haven't figured out the arrangements yet.
No doubt Jungkook would be the one to be in a room with Taehyung, or perhaps even Jimin since the two click well.
However, Yeosang still is into the certain idea of a solid no.
"Look," Yeosang huffs, leaning to the table, "I can stand him coming here, sure that's fine, but having to see his damn face every day? Fuck no."
Taehyung rolls his eyes and grunts under his breath, "I said I'm trying to change my behavior," he says back, eyes narrowed with arms crossed, "Look you don't have to like me, let alone even talk to me, you're probably not even going to see me. If you have a grudge against me, let it be to me alone but don't let it affect with everyone else with this process."
Oh this manipulative, sly fucker.
Yeosang just want reach over and choke him to death!
Oh if he could he would like how he almost did to Joshua.
Ew, why did he remember that species of a person?
Yeosang stayed quiet for a moment, stubborn eyes looking away because as much as he hates to admit it, Taehyung has a point.
This grudge is only to him and it shouldn't be the cause to fuck things over for Jungkook and Jimin.
Besides.... He said he wouldn't leave Jimin's side.....
Even though part of him wants to return back with his sister.
Not like he hates the man, as said before, he's just too much for Yeosang to comprehend right now.
His grudge won't evaporate so easily.
"Give me some time to think about it," He mutters quietly, chugging his wine, "This conversation gave me a migraine."
That raised hope between the three and they all clint their glasses of wine before drinking it down as well. They had their own little get together earlier, making sure not to be too loud for the sake of a wondering RA monitoring their halls.
It was a nice time with alcohol, endless Christmas movies and a bit of music. Presents were exchanged and it was just... A very nice night for everyone.
Ten hasn't been bothered about the knife incident with Taehyung, just because Taehyung told him to just follow his lead and to know he wasn't going to hurt him. It still caught him by surprise when it happened but he's not one to hold grudges. As long as his soulmate is okay, he doesn't care.
On various occasions Jungkook would try to talk to Taemin privately, but the other would always walk away or just divert the conversation away, saying now is not a good time to talk about it. So Jungkook left it at that and held his word that they will talk about it soon.
After everyone left, Taehyung stayed over to help clean up a bit of the mess, which wasn't a lot since everyone else cleaned up after themselves and that's when Jimin brought up this topic.
It's at least three a.m. now and Taehyung has to go back home. It took a lot inside Jungkook to not offer him to stay over like before, but right now that wouldn't be the greatest idea ever.
They have to take things slow, and having Taehyung over means sleeping on the same bed since Yeosang still sleeps on the couch.
If that wasn't the case, he would offer.
"Bye guys," Taehyung hollers out while Jungkook stands behind him, walking him out the door.
Jimin enthusiastically said his farewells while Yeosang only scoffs, which was good enough for him.
Just as Jungkook closes the door behind him, giving the two some privacy, a wave of memories storm through his head.
Right here was where they fought.
It feels almost too long ago when it happened and that alone filled Jungkook with a bad type of nostalgia, that didn't settle well in his stomach. But seeing Taehyung now in front of him, wearing his usual shy smiles as he looks at the floor just makes this feel different.
And a good type of different.
"Thank you for inviting me," Taehyung coughs, rubbing his hands together anxiously, "I had a really great time today."
That was all Jungkook needed to hear into order to be set for the rest of the night.
Taehyung's happiness means everything to him, and it to see his smile just twitching to express the happiness behind his eyes was enough for Jungkook to know he's being honest about it and sincerely means it.
"I'm glad, I did too," He whispers, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly, "I'm sorry I didn't get you anything. I didn't expect to... See you again."
Taehyung only shakes his head to this, his smile still there, "Yeah me too..... Well I can make it up to you by taking you out? Maybe?"
As much as Jungkook's heart practically bursts in his chest, making all his legs deflate in jello to nearly give out, he had to hold his composure.
So he raised eyebrow, "Taehyung..."
"Not as a date!" Taehyung blurts out, seeing the panic slightly grow behind his eyes, "Hanging out, you know? I mean friends do that too..... Unless you're not comfortable with it-"
Jungkook begins to chuckle lowly, raising a hand to place it on Taehyung's shoulder, stopping his rambling, "Have a goodnight Taehyung."
He could see it.
The disappointment in his eyes that just quickly flashed so quickly that it was nearly hard to spot it. Jungkook caught it, but he knew he's doing the right thing. Maybe if they have more people around, that's fine, but the two of them alone?
The tension will be too high..... Even if Taehyung is having his little relationship building with Yoongi and Jungkook is enjoying the sad single life, they will always have that tension there.
For a small not so innocent touch.
Maybe a kiss.
Perhaps a quick fuck in the bathroom, who the fuck knows.
They have to keep their friendship steady now in order for those urges to go away. For it to stop completely, and that's by setting a now foundation with more boundaries that they need to get use to.
Perhaps within time, sure they can go out but as of now that's just going to be hard.
It seems as though Taehyung began to understand that because he masks his disappointment with a forced smile, nodding lowly, "Have a goodnight Jungkook."
And just like that he turns around and leaves.
Without having Jungkook chasing after him this time.
