107: Grieving

Spring Day - BTS

________

There's different ways people deal with grief.

Many may fall into the horrid temptation of agony; cry and scream all they'd like until the pain is less unbearable.

Others talk it out, mourning to their loved ones of the last memory they can think of with the perished person.

Plenty just want to be alone.

For Taehyung, he dealt it with drugs.

With Yeosang, he became silent.

And for Jungkook...... Denial.

Complete and utter denial.

Just the way he would go on about his day, as though nothing has happened with his beaming smile, felt like a million shards of glass is being stabbed straight into Taehyung's soul.

Taehyung knows Jungkook shouldn't be like this; Tormenting himself this way from the truth, but he does.

And he can't seem to stop.

Jungkook calls Woosung.... Every single passing day. Assuring himself when the other lines goes straight to voicemail that he's just busy or out and can't hear his phone, just anything besides the fact that..... He's not around anymore.

Taehyung was careful yet ready. He was ready for when Jungkook explodes his emotions in the stage of acceptance, letting everything out in the open as he completely loses his mind.

As for now Taehyung tries to go along with it. He lets Jungkook fuck him whenever he pleases, at any time he wishes, ignoring his whimpers against his ear in the midst of it just to not press his buttons. Taehyung would cook every day for him just so he can know he's there for him or they would watch movies and Taehyung would purposely make them have a character death, just to help him in some way break from this visage.

He doesn't.

He never breaks.

This is just so damaging for his mental health.

It's only going to hurt him more the farther he pushes this to the back of his head.

The only way Taehyung knows that Jungkook is somewhat intact to what's going on is or is mentally aware is by how he hasn't opened Woosung's voicemail yet.

The last one he sent.

He refused to open it, nor saying as to why.

Than he would brush it aside as though it's nothing.

From time to time Taehyung would also check up on Yeosang while Jimin was in class, since he wouldn't leave the room, but the younger wouldn't speak. He would lay on his bed, stare at the ceiling with lifeless eyes but never say anything.

Even to Jimin.

If he speaks, he'll explode. That much Taehyung can tell.

He doesn't want to explode because then it'll make it too real.

So you see, many people deal with grief in various ways, but in order to keep going with this grief is by accepting what happened in order to make it a little less painful.

Even if it only feels heavier within time.

Shit, Taehyung still hasn't fully recovered with the emptiness his mother left in his heart.

"Little cub, I still haven't showed you my Valentine's Day present! Come on, I want to show it to you," Jungkook suddenly whines besides Taehyung, who is holding him in his arms, "Can I show it to you now?"

Taehyung and Jimin agreed to not speak of Valentine's Day ever since they heard the news, knowing it's just going to be a massive emotional trigger for the two brothers.

So they try to act like it didn't happen, just to help them accept it better. When they're ready to talk about it, they will be there for them to talk about it.

"Another time babe," Taehyung murmurs, pressing a kiss against his chest, "Did you try to call Woosung again?"

That's a stupid question to ask.

Jungkook lets out a heavy sigh, shrugging, "Yeah, he's probably busy. I'm growing worried, but he's going to be fine. He always will be."

He's in too deep.

His tone has grown too casual now by this.

Far too casual.

He's going to break so horribly when it settles in.

At least he won't be alone.

Taehyung has informed all of their friends about the tragic loss and they instantly divert away from the idea of offering pity. They only try to cheer Jungkook up most of the time whenever they see him in school, making him happy, except for Yeosang who refused to leave his room or let alone accept anyone around him.

Everyone has tried, except for Ten.

As strange as it is, Ten has been less than his normal behavior lately. He's shaken up most of the time, squeezing onto a stress ball as he tries to fake an enthusiasm all the time. Taemin would just tell them that he's going through some mental issues at the moment but that he will be okay.

So Ten's sunshine moment of reliance is out of the equation for now.

He does try to be his usual loving self with Jungkook, but everyone can tell is not as genuine as before.

As for Lisa.....

Lisa has been managing her grief by fighting.

And fighting.

Hard.

Every match she would fight in would nearly end up with her almost killing her opponent whenever she would look to the crowd and not see Woosung anywhere in sight.

She's gone, mentally and emotionally.

However she's going to come by soon to be with her brothers for a few days, as an order from Iodine. Jon has told Taehyung that she's becoming more expressionless so hopefully being around her siblings will help her get better.

Unfortunately he's not able to come with her, but he will after a few days since he's investigating the case and has been informing Iodine of anything he finds.

But his main worry is Lisa, and he wants to be there for her in these difficult times.

The three siblings have not uttered a word to each other since they found out about the news, refusing to.

If anyone knew Woosung by heart, it's them.

If they come together, no one will be able to contain themselves from avoiding reality that their anchor is gone.

Lisa lost her childhood best friend.

Jungkook lost his first love.

Yeosang lost his brother.

They lost a family.

And they feel weaker than ever before, especially since they don't even have their parents love and support.

"Jungkook," Taehyung whispers nervously, holding tightly to his waist, "We both know you aren't naive, let alone stupid-"

Jungkook instantly peels himself off of Taehyung's arms, sliding off the bed and slightly stumbles between his feet, facing the other with a smile.

"I'm go get something from the kitchen, do you want anything?" But before Taehyung could even say anything, Jungkook walks out of the door and slams it shut behind him.

Blocking out any empathetic emotions to not feel so heavy.

"Yeosang," Jimin whispers from the side of the bed, staring at the stone expressionless gaze in Yeosang's eyes as he stares at the ceiling, "You need to eat."

The boy doesn't respond, like always, filling the room with his silence.

That's all that ever comes out from him, silence.

His voice now long gone after that day.

He doesn't cry.

Doesn't scream.

He just..... Remains silent.

Like how he feels inside; Silent and empty.

Jimin runs a hand through his blonde hair in stress, feeling a sense of desperation, "Please..... Please eat."

Yeosang doesn't move, especially when Jimin eases the spoon of soup to him, refusing to open his mouth; Which is pointless since Yeosang hates soup.

There's not one thing that Jimin hasn't done in order to comfort him; he would cuddle with him whenever he came from classes, bring him food or try to tell him any sort of stories just to see him twitch an emotion flash his eyes.

Yeosang doesn't feel.

It's as though his spirit just... Died.

Along with Woosung.

With a heavy sigh Jimin puts the bowl of soup on the nightstand, staring at the younger for a moment longer.

And he did what he would always does, or has been doing. He slid under the sheets beside his body and gently tug him into his arms. Pulling him felt like dragging a large doll, and thankfully Jimin has enough strength for it. He pulls Yeosang to his chest and wraps his arms around his body, running a hand through his chocolate greasy hair.

Not feeling him hugging him back like how he use to do once before.

He's not warm anymore, just cold.

Lifeless.

"It's okay to feel hopeless Yeosang," Jimin whispers, feeling his throat clench up to how much he's missing the snarky boy from once upon a time, "But you're not alone. I'm right here for you, and I'm not going to go anywhere. I have the patience of the world for you, but as much as you push me away best believe I will fight back to be with you."

Once again did Yeosang not say anything, but the way his breathing slowed down gave signs that he's relaxed against him. That's been somehow a way for Jimin to manage to read through him now, hearing his breathing.

If it's too shallow, he's trying not to cry. If it's even, he has control over himself. If it's shakily, he's trying not to explode.

And that's the only way they can communicate for now.

And Jimin doesn't mind it, as long as Yeosang is okay.

Even if he's dying on the inside.
