Chapter 12, Truths Uncovered
Lies have been revealed and now Lillian and Raven's love is stripped bare, challenging them and the unnatural forces to the extreme.
Lillian's POV
Rose's eyes bore into mine as she whispers bitterly in my ear, her hot breath making me shiver.
"Little Lillian," She grins wickedly, wrapping her perfect finger around one of my auburn locks, leaning in impossibly closer. "Raven won't come for you. Want to know why?"
She sees me gulp and smiles, taking in my scared reaction. He will come for me. He will. We've known each for like...3 days. Right?
I don't say anything. I won't give her the satisfaction of hearing my shaky voice.
"Cause even he can see that you twos soon-to-be relationship is only one thing: Unnatural."
She seethed the last word in disgust and I feel myself internally shrink.
"H-he doesn't even like me. I don't even know him," I cry, hoping she'll let me go.
"Ugh, don't cry! What are you? A baby?"
Her tone changes from frustration to teasing.
"Go on. Cry for Raven," She mocks, playfully pulling my cheeks.
I fight the urge to cry but to no avail. The tears free themselves from my eyelids like water from a dam.
They just pooled out and leaked from the corners of my eyes.
"W-why are you doing this?" I ask again, probably for the hundredth time now.
"You know why. Because Raven shouldn't be interacting with a mortal. Especially not a disgusting whore like you."
I tried to not show my angry reaction to her name calling and concentrate on the matter at hand.
Don't worry, Lily. Karma always gets them.
"Then why haven't you killed me yet?" I question.
"Hah, Isn't it obvious? Because I'm enjoying this!" She waves a finger towards me. "This little...charade."
I saw the opportunity and took it. And she didn't see it coming.
Quickly, I leaned in and clamped her finger in between my teeth.
She screams and broke free, grabbing in her finger and stocking it like a dog.
"That's for calling me a whore you whore!" I mock, pulling my own little victorious little face.
Her face turns angry and she hisses, reaching for my throat, "Why you little-"
But before she could reach to attack my throat, a voice whispers angrily, "Don't even think about it."
All Rose, Draven and I turn to look at the new individual in the room.
Rose curses under her breath and Draven takes a hesitant step back. He was so quiet that I almost forgot he was here.
I, on the other hand, sighed Raven's name and a small smirk creeps on his angry and upset face.
"Raven this is not what it looks like-" Rose began but he shoots daggers at her.
I winced even though he wasn't looking at me.
"You've betrayed me, sister. Have you not?" He states.
She stutters, looking like a deer in headlights.
"No... Y-yes, no... This thing is the reason why, brother. This toxic nothingness has separated you from me! H-has turned you against me!"
He laughs lightly and turns to me.
Suddenly, in a blink of an eye, he's in front of me, holding my chin up high.
"Don't touch her! She'll give you some sort of deadly infection." Rose argues but Raven doesn't even look at her.
He just continues to look directly into my eyes.
"Are you alright?" He whispers, concern written all over his face.
I nod slowly and divert my eyes at Rose.
She glares at me, silently telling me to keep my mouth shut.
"She wants me gone, Raven. She wants me dead."
