So, today's blog....is a little ranty. If you don't like rants, than please don't read. With that in mind, let's begin.

*Please note that I don't intend to offend anyone in my rant. This are just my own personal pet peeves. If I do offend anyone in this rant, then please let me know. I hate hurting other people's feelings :( *

So, I found a really good Ninjago fanfiction on fanfiction.net. It only has one chapter so far, but it looks really promising! So I showed it to my friend musicalsaregood because we always share good Ninjago fanfiction with each other. 

Here's the thing. My friend really loves reading fanfiction but there is one thing that she absolutely, one-hundred percent, CANNOT stand. It's her own personal pet peeve.

What to know what it is?

Her pet peeve....is OCs.

Which, I honestly can't blame her for. There are some....unfavorable original characters that star in stories. I'm not saying that all OCs are bad, there are actually some really good ones out there. There's just some that....honestly either don't make sense, are ridiculously overpowered, or are just plain terrible. 

Me, personally? I don't mind reading stories that feature in OC. My friend on the other hand will only tolerate them if A) They don't fall in love with a ninja(*whispers* especially not Cole) B)are only there to be supporting characters and don't overshadow the ninja and C)if they have a good role in the story and actually help move the plot along. If there is anything that even hints at an OC being a Mary-Sue, she will not continue the story. Please don't hate her for that, I'm sure that there are plenty of you out there that feel somewhat similar.

With that in mind, I'm going to share a few of my own pet peeves when it comes to reading fanfiction.

1. Poor spelling: I can tolerate a couple of errors here in there in a story--we are not perfect after all. What I can barely tolerate is a whole host of spelling and grammar errors within the first sentence or two of the story. It makes my inner spellchecker scream "OMG!!!" at the top of its lungs. Sometimes, if the plot is really good, I can look past the spelling errors. 

2. Overpowered Characters: Okay, I can tolerate the ninja having a long-lost sister or having a cousin or some other family member(usually). What ticks me off is if the character is extremely overpowered. If the words "more powerful than the green ninja" are anywhere in the character's description, then I'm out. I don't mind having an OC with an elemental power, just please...don't make them overpowered.

3. Gore: I don't why, but if there is too much blood and gore in a fanfiction then I immediately stop reading it. It's ridiculous(I watched Deadpool when it first came out in theaters. Deadpool!), but I just can't help it. A little blood and gore isn't bad, but if it's completely unwarranted or there's just a whole bunch of graphic bloodshed...*shudders*
