Okay! So this ship is so underrated! I actually really love this ship. Idk if it's not a lot of people have heard of it that they just don't like it, but I certainly do! I was mainly addressed in Darkness of Dragons, which I haven't read in a while, so I don't remember much, but I DO remember liking it.

PROS: both dragons are Into each other for one. I don't usually ship one sided ships, and this one isn't. Like I said, I really haven't read Darkness of Dragons in a while, but I seem to remember both dragons being interested in each other. I think they could serve as a good match as well. Thorn is regal, and a commanding queen. I could see why she would want a kind but also strong dragon such as Smolder for her king.

PROS: Well, I suppose both dragons do already have mates. Thorn and StoneMover had Sunny and Smolder and Palm had Onyx. However, neither of those ships are all that active anymore... like, I'm pretty sure that Palm was mentioned to have died somewhere in the series and StoneMover and Thorn's relationship has certainly dwindled. And I don't think Smolder and Thorn had ever canonly pronounced there love, but I can still see them being together. I don't see this ship being abusive and no age gap, so there's actually not a lot of Pros here! If you think of any, I'm curious to see what you come up with.
