Chapter 6 Merida
Author's note: this is Jamie Macintosh(from Brave) not Jamie from Rotg just wanted to make things clear lol. Also Irish coffee is a term for coffee with alcohol in it like whiskey.
Merida walked into Sandy's Diner on a Sunday morning. It was nice little place, Sandy the owner was there almost everyday making sure things ran smoothly. He wasn't much of a talker though. He was a short fair haired man and was always accompanied by the manager Nicholas North. He could've been a giant. His arms were decorated with tattoos and his long gray beard made him look like a biker. Yet he wore a red collared shirt and black pants like any normal manager would. His voice unlike Sandy's was thunderous and had what sounded like Russian dialect.
'What kinda people do they hire here?' Merida thought. Although who was she to judge?
"Merida! You must be the new waitress! Come I'll show you around!" Nicholas said.
He took her to the kitchen where the chefs were busy prepping.
"Here is where the magic happens! Thanks to our head chef Aster," Nicholas said.
Aster was a tall broad shouldered man with salt and peppered hair. His grey five o'clock shadow covered his face as he greeted them with a grin.
"So this is the new girl." He said his voice containing an Australian accent.
"Yup." She said "I'm Merida nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too Scotty." He said. "If we get anymore accents in this place we're going to have to be on the look out for immigration services."
"I don't know about you but I have a dual citizenship." Nicholas replied.
"Sure so do I." Aster replied sarcastically as he went back to his cooking.
"Come on Merida we better be getting you your uniform." Nicholas said.
Merida got changed in the bathroom, her uniform was a green dress with a dark blue apron.
Merida had been a waitress before but she wasn't very good at it. Her memorization of orders and tables was not the problem. The problem was being courteous and polite when she got a customer that didn't apply by the same rules.
However she finished her first day at Sandy's without a single complaint. Maybe this was going to be a new start, maybe she was finally going to make something of herself.
She was about to leave when she saw the owner still cleaning up the store. She felt like she owed it to the man for giving her a chance but she didn't want to seem like she was sucking up to the boss. Maybe she could ask him if he needed help? No, she decided just to leave and leave the day as it was.
She walked to Jamie's apartment. He was a good friend but a bloody pain in the ass at times. He worked at a pub called Hannigans that's where they met. Merida had been going through a rough time so he gave her a free drink and they had a good conversation.
Jamie was obnoxious but he did have a kind heart so when he found Merida sleeping in her car, he offered her a room at his place.
"Jamie! I'm home from work!" Merida said going into the apartment. It was a mess with all of her things mixed up with Jamie's.
"Bloody hell woman do you have to wake me up every time your home?!" He called from the couch, his choppy dark hair was a tousled mess and his lean body was dressed in only grey sweats.
"Jesus what's with you?" She asked sitting next to him.
"Well, first off I got plastered tonight and I think we may have another houseguest in my bedroom." Jamie winked.
"Can't you go one night without giving a tour of the apartment?" Merida stood up and shook her head and began to make coffee for Jamie so he could sober up a bit.
"You better be making me Irish coffee." Jamie said.
"You know I'm not." Merida said. "Now go wake up your house guest."
Jamie went into his bedroom and brought back the guy he had met that night. Merida had to say Jamie did have a good choice in men. The man was tall with chestnut hair and had brown eyes. His chin was defined as was his build. He smiled at her with no embarrassment whatsoever as he sat down on the couch wearing Jamie's Real Mckenzie's t-shirt that was a size to big for Jamie but fit the stranger's body quite well.
"Oh we got ourselves a pretty boy now don't we?" Merida joked.
"Thanks Red I think he's a keeper as well." The stranger joked patting Jamie on the back.
"Alright where is that bloody coffee you were talking about having?" Jamie asked.
"Right here now I'm going to go to bed it was nice meeting you...."
"Flynn," the stranger answered.
"Right Flynn, I hope to see you again, now Jamie I'm going to bed, can you make sure to take out the trash in the morning?" Merida said.
"Yes mum." He replied sarcastically.
"Oh shut up you idiot." Merida replied leaving for her bedroom.
"Love you too Meri!"
"Don't bloody call me that!" She yelled back.
Authors note: Yup I made Macintosh and Flynn Rider gay. I thought my stories needed more representation and as a person who supports LGBT I thought it would be nice to have characters like that to be represented. If you're uncomfortable then well you don't have to read it but I just thought it would be a nice change. I hope you are all enjoying the story! Please comment and vote!
